I would pretty much have to be guaranteed to have sex so great, that life would honestly not be worth living anymore.

If all they do is lie there lazily while I work my 8 seconds of magic, only to have my neck snapped right after, I'd be pretty pissed off .

"Times are changing?" From what, and hasn't time always "changed" since it fused with space in the early days of our universe? Perhaps you mean that there is something particular about the dawning era that makes external trunks inappropriate? Is it America's decline as a superpower, the displacement of traditional opinion forming by social media, or perhaps the Arab spring?

The sure footed command of complex probability models and sociological analysis in this thread is dizzying.

Nobody said they are inappropriate. I think, didn't read much of the previous pages. Anyway, the trunks are gone because times change and trunks are no longer cool or make sense in this version of Superman. Or Batman.

I just want classic superhero costumes that aren't ashamed of what they are - costumes. If that makes me a dinosaur, then so be it.

I'm tired of artists trying to apologize for these characters and make them cooler by throwing a bunch of seams at them. Nevermind that they have stood the test of time for over eight decades and have become deeply embedded in American pop culture - all while wearing those silly trunks that everybody seems to hate so much.

I get that, but they would have to make a different kind of movie. This is dark and gritty and grounded and all those other words that are popular with comic book movies these days. Sorry.

It's funny. Back in Superman returns days I was a defender of trunks. I really felt they should stick closely to the comics. Oh those days. Brandon Routh got so much ****. Couldn't help but to root for him since he was the underdog. Anyway, the trunks just don't sit well with movies these days.

Again, that's faulty logic. Y'all can repeat that statement as many times as you want, it still makes no more sense than the first time.

I think it's more of if Superman isn't allowed to have trunks, it's highly unlikely Batman would.

Exactly, which is why the contention that the GA would laugh at the trunks is ridiculous. The majority of them won't care one way or the other. The only ones arguing about it is us geeks.

Well think of that statement form the perspective of the producers. It's a relative risk scenario here. So if either way the GA won't care but there is a stigma to batman in trunks or at least a potential to it, so better play it on the safe side and not include them.

From the prospective of the producers there is a greater risk to benefit ratio to including the trunks then not. Especially with all the backlash towards Ben why risk anything you don't have to?

I'm sure that same thought process was went through on MoS as well.
