I also give it a shot :

YES! This is also freaking AMAZING.

Any chance someone could edit this and/or the other one two have Batfleck's face (it's not that I prefer it... it's just that we're going to need to get used to it) and white eyes?

I really think the blue thing could happen. There could be a blue theme shared between Bats, Supes, and WW in the same way that there is a lot of red shared between Thor, Cap, and Iron Man.

God damn, these two Nolan-era manips with the blue/grey are just freaking off the charts exciting.

One can only hope!!!!!

I like the idea of lenses, I'm just not terribly sure if it should be so similar to the costume used in Christopher Nolan's Trilogy, maybe a reinvention is due.

Yes, I think we can do much better than the rubber jigsaw suit with a different paint job.

The first manip with the blue and grey scheme remains the best, because it suggested a new material and an original way to demonstrate musculature.

Bah, i give up...Seems that i am rustier at this stuff than i thought!(Been a a while)

Anyway, if anyone wants to give it a try, this is the image i was using for Batflecks jaw:

Hi Cape Detective! Welcome to the thread.

If you haven't checked out the previous versions of the thread, you really should. Lots of sweet, sweet pics and ideas for the Bat-Suit.

I think the main thing we're all geeking out over from the last few pages is mostly the color scheme - many have tried and failed to render the Blue/Gray color combo as something suitable for a modern movie, and these last 2 manips seem to have been embraced by a lot of people (some of whom normally disagree over most aspects of the suit), so that's a big accomplishment towards group consensus ;)

One thing most people on this thread agree about is that the Nolan suit needs to be retired (and it will be... of all the things we KNOW about the new suit is that it will be a significant departure from anything we've seen since the '89 Keaton suit).

Some people are divided about how that should be done- the major camps are basically people who see Batman as needing body armor (like the Arkham Origins suit and increasing from there in heaviness), and those who would prefer a cloth suit that resembles the classic comic versions of the suit. A small circle meets in the middle with cloth-over-armor suits (the Blue/Gray manip on the previous page is the best combo I've seen yet).

The other major sticking points for the suit can be boiled down to white eyes vs. revealed human eyes... and then the most volatile of all Batsuit considerations... Should Batman have trunks? Or as they are sometimes called... underoos, lol.

From what little we have been told about the new suit from those who are in the know, it most likely will not be all-black. The vast likelihood is that it will be feature a gray body and black cowl/cape/gloves/boots. It is also likely (as many of us hope) that the construction of the suit will deviate significantly from the "guy in a rubber suit" that we've had in every film incarnation of the suit since 1989.

As for me? I'm pulling for a lithe but high-tech stealth suit featuring midnight blue cape/cowl/boots/gloves, gray cloth over light armor, trunks, white eyes, and a very realistic approach to the utility belt.

I couldn't tell this is the Batsuit thread anymore lol.

This pic is pretty cool, I think it shows how drastically different (infinitely superior) it looks with a simple fabric/mesh layer on top of the armor.

I like this one quite a bit. Very nice.

sometimes i wonder if the "insiders" are actually insiders. so many people troll, including myself, so it's hard to decipher. in my defense i just do it for a laugh, but i'm not funny.

^ You're sometimes funny, lol. I get a chuckle out of you.

And I don't trust any "insiders" at this point. All kinds of bogus inside scoops came out about MOS that didn't pan out. This could be the same. I think we could very well get a blue and gray suit. We don't know.

My personal favorite would be all black with a white bat symbol, but black and grey seems to be the most likely choice, and I'm stoked about that.

I'm stoked about this batsuit too. I'm not even worried about it. I'm assuming it will be awesome. I think I'd prefer grey and black, but after seeing that picture of the blue and grey, I like that too. I wouldn't mind the all black with white symbol, either. I'm guess I'm pretty open. I just want something different than what has been used in movies lately.

Whatever it is, I'm expecting it to make a bold statement from the get-go. Not just by being different from the rubber batsuits, but actually conveying to the audience this is a whole new Batman.

I'd seen hundreds of manips for the Superman suit over the years, and yet still none of them quite captured the loudness that bank vault pic did. It had most of the classical elements, but presented in a way which didn't just say "look I'm from the comics!". As Snyder said, it looked like it "lived in that world".

No offense to any manippers here, but I've yet to get that effect from any images posted in all the history of these threads.

Can someone repost the link(s) to blue-and-grey/black-and-grey camouflaging in the dark better than all-black? I need to show it to someone and I'm too lazy to scroll through pages upon pages of posts. :oldrazz:

Oh hai Shika! :oldrazz: :cwink:

BTW, these manips are cool but I'm expecting a much more radical departure from what we've seen before based on Smith's comments.

Damn it, I want blue now.

And Kevin Smith did say that it was Jim Lee inspired.

Hopefully he meant pre-New 52.

I can guarantee that some won't like it. ;)

Agreed, I am not a fan of any of Lee's redesigns for any of the big 7.

Am I the only one who doesn't really see a "Jim Lee design" (before New 52) other than having shorter ears?

No, you're right, though his squared off gauntlet fins were also novel.

I would take the description to mean a clean, classic and precisely proportioned classic Batsuit.

Alright. Because I keep seeing the term used, but his pre-New 52 suit isn't too different from what we've seen before. Like if you sat him and a bunch of other artists down and told them to draw Batman, they'd pretty much look the same other than being drawn in each person's particular style and some slight differences.

So, the term makes more sense to me in referring to the New 52 suit.

I don't follow that, since the New 52 suit is not synonymous with Jim Lee's art style. I think that the source would have referenced the New 52 suit if that was what he meant. Further, the New 52 suit is much closer than any other comic book version to the "black matrix armour" from which we are told this is a departure.

Well, I mean he's the one who came up with that particular design, which was meant to look different from one he used to draw. Nothing to do with his style of drawing. Same with Superman.

It's like how I'd call Lee Bermejo's suit "the Bermejo design" that many refer to as "the Noel suit" since he came up with that particular design of the suit. But, he's drawn a more classic-looking suit before...

Do you see what I mean?
