Just to put my head in the lion's jaws again, here are some new manips... Again, from un-shaded black and white drawings, with me digitally sculpting the cowl/cape from samples of leather, adding texture & shading to the body and trying (feebly) to give it white eyes.
As for blue vs. black, they both have their appeal, and with modern technology it wouldn't be surprising to me if they go for the best of both worlds with a color changing tech that adapts to the environment for sneaking. But if I had to pick one, the blue blended in with the skyline so well that I actually had to reinforce the outlines in order for it to appear properly. So for blending in with city vistas at night, I think the blue can't really be beat. The black stuck out like a thumb.
You can get that techy look in conjunction with the fabric look, which I think is what Grampa does. It doesn't have to be a jigsaw/mech look ala the Nolan suits.
I'm a sucker for carbon fibers, weaves, and texture in general.
Amen... The Grampa look is far from the ideal for this universe (although I'd love to see a balls-out brutal Batman like that in another place, another time), but it hints at real usability and tech. It's a good bit more cyberpunk than the more Tron like images you posted.
My newest above manipulation uses kevlar weave patterns for the body, and heavy leather for the cowl and cloak, just to keep some of what I liked about my Grampa manip. I tried using carbon nanotube weave for the body and cloak (not at the same time) and didn't really like the look.
I've got an idea about how to use some of the pics you just posted to make something really cool... stay tuned... I have a feeling most people will think it looks just like the Injustice suit, but whatever. It's going to be cool.
Until then, maybe you're the only other guy on this site who will dig this insane video of a tech-nerd's Batman redesign. Super, super high-tech, futuristic and awesome. Right for this movie? Hell naw. It's actually not at all far off from Zod's rig though. The thing that I really like about it is that in mask-on (shields? lol) mode, it's sculpted to look like a bat. I've always thought that in all likelyhood, a modern day Batman would use super high-tech lightweight gear like this and actually cover his mouth similarly too to appear to be a real giant bat.

I honestly can't wait for the Batsuit reveal. It's going to be glorious and to think we may be getting it sometime next month at the earliest.
Oh man, your manip is sweeeet! I'm not a big fan of the long ears, but the color scheme on this is great. I have to give props to anyone who uses Affleck in their pictures. I've found it nearly impossible to get good angles of him, and the ones that I do find, he's always got that stupid grin...
