I likewise strongly object to nepo baby Lex as I think Lex rising from nothing is crucial to his character, he "earned" people's admiration with his hard work, while Superman has done no such thing.

The fact that LuthorCorp is the name of the company doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility that Lex is a self-made entrepreneur. It's just an assumption being made until we get more info.

I don't really care if the company Lex owns is called Lexcorp or LuthorCorp. I don't even care if Lex had a rich dad who Lex took the company from.

I just hope this isn't Jesse Eisenberg 2.0, in terms of it being another young goofball "tech bro" Lex who is quirky and puts jolly-ranchers in people's mouths. Give me a Lex who has gravitas and someone I can take seriously.

Rosenbaum was a great Lex (sorry Flickchick), so I would be happy if this Lex was more like that version.

The company has only been called LuthorCorp in Smallville, but in all fairness, it was called LexCorp in BvS and Lex also inherited it there.

Nepo baby is one of the most obnoxious terms out there...ranking just behind woke and virtual signaling. You have any idea how many famous/great people are second generation? Hey Michael Douglas makes good movies but damn friggin Nepo Baby! Jane and Peter Fonda? Call me when they change their name! And man I really dig the Wallflowers but Jakob is just another kid living off dear ole dad's cache!!

So I shall just rephrase - I tend to prefer Lex being the founder of his empire, built on the back of his own genius/inventions/ambition, rather than Lionel. But I'm cool with the daddy issues version as well, as long is it's not like...whatever Eisenberg was.

The happy medium version would be that Lionel started the company, but Lex made it an empire.

Yup. I'd prefer that Lionel started it.
He dabbled in this and that. While wealthy, he's not near billionaire status.

Lex then comes along. Its soon discovered that he's gifted and highly intelligent.

Lex takes over the company and runs with it, turning it into a worldwide corporation worth hundreds of billions, and he soon changes the name to Lex-corp.

Just because the still photo somewhat resembles you trying on shoes at Payless fifteen minutes after closing as the employees plead for you to make a purchase and let them go home already… doesn’t mean he’s actually going that slowly. He has super speed. Anything is possible.
