How do we feel about Luthor Corp instead of Lexcorp?
Lexcorp is obviously better and rolls off the tongue more smoothly. Them going with the awkward LuthorCorp alternative makes me think they're trying to distance themselves from Eisenberg as much as they can.

I mean, LexCorp as a name appears in Blue Beetle too, last I remember, so it's hardly specific to BvS. No, Luthor wasn't in Blue Beetle, but that film could've easily gone with another moniker if it was about distancing.

I like Luthor Corp, sounds more militaristic, it's no LexCorp but it's not bad.

I wonder if Lex will be in a specific business in this film or if he's already spread his ventures across Metropolis

I know it's not specific or original to BvS, I'm just saying it's possible that Gunn and co. will go for an established alternative wherever possible in order to avoid comparisons to BvS, that's all.

“LuthorCorp” was also used on Smallville and (briefly) Supergirl. But “Lexcorp” seems to be the more common moniker.

LexCorp only makes sense if he started it. LuthorCorp makes it sound older and more about it being part of a family.

To me the name only matters as it pertains to how Lex is perceived. If he is a known villain or seen as a Musk style d-bag naming it after himself makes sense because of his narcissism. If he is still putting up a front as being a legit businessman than LuthorCorp makes more sense.

Honestly though it matters little to me overall.

Genuinely don't care. I often get them mixed up anyway 😅

It will have very little impact on the film. As long as Lex feels like Lex, and as long as his company is still named after him (first name or surname), I don't care.

I think the only reason for the name to be Luthorcorp is if they're playing with the idea that Lex is a nepobaby. Maybe part of his thing in the movie is that his father recently died and he just got ahold of the company years ago and is still dealing with that.

Maybe Luthor corp gets a bad wrap for being involved in naughty things so Lex changes its name to save face later on.

When I first looked at the image it didn't even register with me that it was normally Lex corp so maybe it's just a new name.

I only care in terms of what it suggests for Lex’s backstory - LuthorCorp is typically used when the company was founded by Lionel. So it may suggest we’re getting “grew up wealthy” Lex instead of “self-made billionaire” Lex. But who knows. I prefer the latter backstory myself, but am honestly fine with either.

As a name alone, I’ve always preferred LuthorCorp because it just sounds more real to me lol. Like for some reason LexCorp has always sounded a bit silly to my ears (maybe because people more rarely name corporations after their first names? So when I hear this, I think “SteveCorp” or “KarenCorp” and it amuses me :hehe: ). But whatever, it really doesn’t matter.

I kinda feel the self-made billionaire route only works if you're going with a Lex that's considerably older than Superman. For a Lex that's the same age as Superman it doesn't work nearly as well.

Yeah I agree with all these points. I do prefer self made Lex... but for young Lex it makes sense for it to be a family company that he takes over. And Luthorcorp does feel more 'real' to me.

Given that many modern portrayals of Luthor have him despising Superman due to not him having had to work for any of his powers and earn his status as Metropolis' protector (at least in Lex's mind), Luthor being a product of nepotism would actually add an interesting layer of 'you are what you hate'-type insecurity on top of his raging jealousy. It could be very interesting to come at it from that angle.

In his mind him having been abused by his dad his whole life (kinda like the Succession kids) would probably count as him "fighting for it"
