I really believe in Gunn’s plan. We may not know much about it yet, but I do agree with the sentiment that if you get Superman and the characters around his world right, there probably isn’t a better way to kick off a proper DC Universe in Live Action.

You get us to care about this guy the way we cared about Downey as Iron Man or Evans as Cap, I believe the possibilities are endless. Now they just gotta find a guy who Corenswet has chemistry with to play Bruce. You establish that friendship and who knows how great this thing could be.

I've gone from pretty annoyed at Gunn's involvement to very optimistic for a good while based on everything I've heard from Gunn on this project and before we got anything official. Landing the exact casting that I and the majority of the Hype wanted for Lois and Clark, and my second choice for Lex makes this feel even more of a personal Hype family affair and was the moment when I was willing to go full blown blind Hype. It feels like Gunn is going to do everything he can to make this the Superman film many of us want, now it's just a case of how well he can execute on that vision as this is still new ground for him.

As you say this is the perfect way to launch a DCU if this film works. Superman/Clark has to be a pillar, the Cap of the DCU, set from the very first film and if they can pull of the dynamic with Bats/Bruce they will at least set off the imagination of the legion of DC fans and it could lead to a more lethargic GA eventually jumping in when word of mouth spreads.

Not sure what the point of evil Max would be when he's a more unique character as essentially a wrestling promoter with superheroes. His evil schtick is too similar to Lex Luthor's, with mind control thrown in. Let him stay fun.
