Seriously. All the people who rip on this show as being CW cheesiness can kiss my grits.
The problem with the series isn’t the Clark and Lois scenes (which are typically very well done). The problem is that such scenes are few and far between. Most of the show, unfortunately, is standard “CW cheesiness.”

Thank you.

I can cherry-pick genuinely heartfelt and well-acted scenes in any CW show, that doesn’t excuse the rest of them.

Lex is arguably superman's best villain and hasn't really been done well on the big screen. All they have to do is give us the animated series lex or Rosenbaum's lex and I think the general audience will be receptive to it.

Regarding the clone, it's all about execution. The movie needs to nail superman and if this clone is how they can make the character of superman and Clark Kent shine I'm all for it. I think I recall early on there was talk about the focus being on Clark as a journalist. You would need to have some sort of conspiracy going on to highlight that. So if you have lex making a clone it gives a good reason for Clark to be a journalist and do some investigative reporting. World ending threats don't lend itself to that story.
Even though I don't mind that much, how many times do they have to get it right?

This will be what? His 5th time out of 8 SM movies?

Seriously. I don’t doubt Hoult will have good material to work with, but I was hoping Lex would be an antagonistic supporting character, not the main villain. I’m also not blown away by the idea of a clone/Bizarro/Ultraman, because it may be as well be Zod. :funny:

David of course plays the main character, but if this info is true, he is going to be in a lot of this movie, since they won't need to take time to introduce the actor and his character, since it will be David. Not a bad thing, since I think David is a fine actor.

Also, I would like to request pictures of David's dog in every actors chair, so I can collect the whole series.

I want to like Superman and Lois, but outside Hoechlin the show isn't very good imo.

It has way less of it than Smallville ever did. That show invented that type of tripe.

And anyways I will disagree.

I totally understand and it reminds me of the issue with the joker. Only difference is Joker has been done very well in multiple iterations and lex really hasn't. Yet directors constantly choose to go back to that well. I would love to see brainiac as well but if his character doesn't fit this story why use him.

Truthfully, I think this has more to do with the story like I mentioned earlier. You can get those scenes with Clark as a journalist if you have Lex Luthor as the villain. They have to take the approach with superman as Nolan and Reeves are doing with Batman, which is, choose the villain that fits the story that helps Clark/superman have a character.

If people can't care about superman then don't bother making the movie. The previous movies have clearly struggled with making superman connect with the general audience. For what it's worth, Gunn, made people care about the Guardians heroes. That's what he needs to do here.

I think you can do the same with Brainiac as the main villain. A alien invasion only further supports Lex's views on them and Superman in general.

That's just Mike Allred's art.
Wonderful writing, but I gotta admit the way the artist draws faces and eyes in particular really terrifies me. :funny:

I felt the same way when I started reading it as I was totally new to this creative team, but I honestly got used to the art really quickly. It suits the writing in some weird way, Idk. Anyway, one of the absolute best Superman stories I’ve ever read tbh. Very glad I didn’t let the art scare me away lol.

Who said that a clone of Superman is Ultraman or Bazaro? It is like saying the Engineer is the villain. Ultraman is Kal-El from a different universe and Bazaro is from a different world as well. A clone Superman would more likely be Superboy. Although I think it would be fascinating to have Nicolas Hoult playing the clone as we all know that Lex usually puts his DNA into the Superman clone pot. Remember Hoult did audition to play Supes and did have the suit on.

My only problem with Space Age is that each of the three issues in over 60 pages. It’s harder to read because it isn’t broken up. I’d have preferred it to be 9 regular sized issues instead of 3 large issues.

But that’s just on me. The story is great. And I think that the art fits the story really well.

As I prefer to trade-wait and read as much of a story as I can in one go anyway, this was a plus for me. :funny:

Posting a rugby player every day until the suit reveal Day 21:

Yeah but it's an adapation. If they want Ultraman to be an evil clone, then they can do that. Also Bizzaro is a clone depending on the version.
