Because you kept responding to me???

But sure, bygones.
That's fine... I hope you understand, I'm not trying to scream at you, or try to start a fight with you... I understand we're both Superman fans both we both love the character so much, and I hope that even though we may disagree with one another on this, we can still coalesce in these forms peacefully without being at each other's throats.

While I understand why people feel this way, I also have to ask, are these feelings based on the facts? Zack was already out the door before Gunn had any serious discussions with WB. Whedon's Justice League was released in 2017 and Gunn wasn't even fired from the MCU until 2018. By the time Gunn directed The Suicide Squad, Snyder was long gone (only came back for his JL director's cut) and many fans were already looking forward to Flashpoint rebooting the franchise. By the time James came aboard, there wasn't much of Zack's vision left to salvage tbh.

Henry definitely got the shortest end of the stick in this whole mess, and I highly empathize with how he got screwed over by the previous regime not untilizing him for years. But by the time WB decided to bring back Cavill for his cameo in Black Adam, James was already writing a Superman movie separate from the DCEU (ala The Batman or J.J. Abram's Superman). It wasn't until later (most likely around the time Black Adam flopped) that WB decided against The Rock running the show and decided to let Gunn do it. Since WB was already bleeding buckets of money, and coming off BA's flop, they couldn't afford to give Henry MOS2 and they left it to Gunn to let Cavill know that he wouldn't be in the DCU. He even had the dignity to tell him in person.

Cavill and Snyder were screwed over by WB, not Gunn. I can understand the initial backlash when Gunn announced the DCU, but placing the fall of Snyder's DCEU squarely on Gunn's shoulders is pretty extreme.
Actually, the script that James Gunn was writing was not written by James Gunn, Gunn himself admitted that in a Twitter post, and he said that this script was actually a script that WB has had in preparation 6 months prior to James Gunn being announced as the head of WB...

James Gunn had also said in the past a year prior that he had no interest, absolutely zero interest in writing a Superman film or directing anything from Warner Brothers, of course he would go on to say that he did not want to run or had no interest in running WB by himself, that's why we had David Zaslav along with him handling the financial side, and James Gunn handling the creative side...

I think the anger for Gunn comes from the fact that Gunn took over WB completely, renamed it, and instead of using the known actors that were portraying the characters, he went to rely on a script that was not his, and was a script that the prior regime had on a back burner...

Because Gunn could have used the current actors, and applied the vision that he had, and you could have seen Henry Cavill in this exact same suit, or a suit possibly similar to what we saw today... I do think that when Gunn was given the reins, he could have done something that would have mended the bridge that Walter Hamada and the past regime burned, but he didn't, and that's probably why these people hate Gunn so much... because there was potential, and instead of blossoming that potential, he gave up.

If he had mended that bridge, I guarantee you, we would not see the vitriol and hatred that Snyder fans have for Gunn, and I do believe that the fan base would have been more unified if Gunn took into consideration the fan base that the Snyderverse had, and still has to this day, And transitioned the DCEU into the DCU by finishing out what Snyder had originally planned... I really truly do believe if he did that

I'll withhold opinion on the suit fit and texture until post-production and trailers, but that collar is bothering me. It looks especially stupid from the back, just this random blue part that just pops up from the cape. As a team no-trunks guy, I'm ok with trunks, but trunks with collar just looks off. Can't put my finger on why, but it should be one or the other, not both.

Fair enough.

Your info is incorrect about Gunn, however. What you are posting sounds like the made-up narrative of certain Snyder-favoring YouTube channels.

Gunn was hired to write this script before he was ever head of the studio. This was all confirmed multiple times by the trades and Gunn. There were several pitches of different Superman films. Gunn’s take won. This is absolutely his script, but when he first started writing it, it wasn’t intended to kick off a new universe, so it did go through a change after he was given the top job. But this was always his screenplay, and it never involved Henry Cavill’s Superman.

The anger toward Gunn/this production from the cult is wildly misplaced.

Fam, I'm gonna put this as delicately as I can.

The notion I've seen perpetuated here and elsewhere of Snyder fans being "wronged" or "owed" or "needing an olive branch" is, well, a patently ridiculous one. We're adults. These are movies about cartoon characters. There have been plenty of Supermen before Cavill, and there will be plenty after him. This is not serious stuff.

The door is shut on the Snyderverse. It is what it is. Keep an open mind for new stuff to come, or don't bother with. Nobody's forcing the issue. But holding onto sour grapes about how a previous franchise ended or how a new one is beginning seems like a waste of emotional energy. Be open-minded for what Gunn's doing, or don't. It's that simple.

Bitsie Tulloch says hi. (She’s the perfect embodiment of the Tomasi Lois).

But this is certainly shaping up to be a great “in the midst of the action” Lois.
I tried… couldn’t make it past the pilot. I feel like I can’t watch CW styled shows now that I’m 35 and not in high school. Something about the pacing and such, throws me off.
