So besides the stuff that make her look like the character she doesn't look like the character?

And if you don't see it maybe get your eyes checked  :o

So you don't consider the green hues in her costume or having some Thanagarian armor as necessary for her appearance?

Plus, I really don't get how anyone could look at the set costume and compare it with this.

I mean, would Batman still look like Batman if all he had was the mask and cape but everything else was replaced with a cheap white/black leather jacket?

I think Superman running around a world with heroes is prime for a very lively, kinetic film. Also an interesting one if this corporate-backed heroes route is legit. The uniforms kinda work for the theory. I presume all the heroes will have varied thoughts and they will open up more and more as Superman demonstrates a different way.

Gardner seems to revel in it. I can see Hawkgirl being against the potential lording over. Terrific takes advantage of the resources, maybe. The ultra anti, fatalistic doomsday talk over BTS pics of suits is so played out tho lol most of it here feels like deliberate trolling too

I feel like the first step to making a good Superman story is not being extremely defensive about the characters relevance and status. Why does he NEED to be the first other than as a boring status symbol?
Why do you need to be so defensive?

So I get that the costumes for hawky and greeny are a uniform but Mr Terrific is basically wearing the same thing..but that's his normal look? If everyone decides to go back to their regular costumes, won't Mr Terrific be the odd one out still wearing his old uniform?

Those costumes aren’t the best but since they seem to be going for some corporate synergy type thing, I can get behind them. My bigger concern is that since he’s a lantern, Nathan Fillion is going to have a bigger presence here than in other Gunn movies. Used to be a fan of the guy but ever since hearing about how he was a humongous ******* to Stana Katic on Castle, I get annoyed whenever I see his face.

The best part in all of these pictures though is how good David looks. And that cape :atp:. So red. So flowy. Absolute perfection.

I’m as much a comics purist as anyone you will ever meet. But if you expected that cinematic Hawkgirl was going to have a bikini top and low rise cycling shorts as her costume, you were crazy and destined for disappointment

Plus, as has been discussed for like 15 pages yesterday, the costumes are clearly integral and related to the storyline of the film. There’s a reason that they are wearing matching jackets with a logo of Maxwell Lord’s company on them. That isn’t just a creative choice

It's an active wear top. :p

Now Wonder Woman on the other hand.

Gunn seems to be trying to get away from the beefcake costumes and seems to try to stimulate fans with color. It is hard to tell what he is doing with Hawkgirl because the wings will totally be CGI. Same goes for the Engineer. In the old DCEU both characters will be probably have body suits. I don’t think think this movie will be the standard Superhero flick that fans seem bored of lately. I am telling everyone, Guy’s white suite is gonna pop with the green aura around it.

I think I just need to see a trailer. I’m having a hard time with these BTS shots.

Superman embracing the kids in the crowd and just being friendly is so lovely to see. Wholesome moments between these superheroes and random civilians seem so few and far between in all these adaptions these days. Which is a shame when they're the backbone of the genre.
We're so back, man.

A YouTuber said that it appears Mr. Terrific, Green Lantern, Metamorpho, and Hawkgirl are a part of Justice League International because you can see the logos on the uniforms. So the Justice League will be formed in some manner. I actually liked the comic with Martian Manhunter and Steve Trevor leading the team.

It does look like the symbol on Gardner's chest says "JL" but I think people have been saying it's Lordtech's logo. Either way, can't wait to see what Gunn is cooking up haha.

I don't know much about Lord, is he a sneaky bad guy? Or just someone trying to do what's best for them?

Yup. It feel like over the past 10 years "sincerity" has been seen as corny or old fashioned. There's nothing corny about something being pure and heartfelt. Not in my mind, anyway.
It's just what the world needs, at this point.
I think the solution for how this Superman is marketted is almost painfully simple, but incredibly risky to get right.

Superhero media, for the last 10 years, has been genuinely oversaturated with "Evil/Corrupt Superman" characters in movies and TV shows. And in a lot of ways, with regards to the cultural zeitgeist of how Gen Z and alpha perceive masculinity or what being "powerful" looks like (i.e. the "literally me" phenomena with characters who are actually sociopathic but happen to have a jawline)? Superman can serve as the most refreshing goddamn reminder in the world of what genuine sincerity can be. Of the fact that being powerful does not automatically mean you have to be an ***hole. And that, in today's world with how Gen Z and alpha are perceiving media along with looking up to characters they absolutely should not look up to in the slightest, could be highly important to see for Gen Z and Alpha and highly influential if done right

Make these kids believe a man can do more than take their pain out on the world.

Make these kids believe a man can fly again.

If they take that risk and it pays off? Superman is back.
Everything I said here is basically coming true. It feels so goddamn good to see :hrt:

Yes I think it looks similar. I knew it was Hawkgirl right away...and I will bet money it looks different on screen just like every suit does.

Look I get it, you are some sort of uber purist or something...cool. I get your criticisms, I just think you are hyberbolic about it.

Its more he is trying to do what is best for him but he is not bad, just shady. He is kind of like Zack Morris on Saved By the Bell...he will be your best friend and is cool to be around but there is always some scheme out there he is working on to benefit himself :)

And it is interesting that he is doing all this stuff with a heavily damaged suit, which I guess means he is doing all this during the third act?

Not to start you or me spiralling, but I hope Gunn can balance this lighter stuff along with whatever the big third act threat is. We don't want tonal whiplash or a sense that Supes is not treating the presumed crisis with due seriousness (eg. Clark and Lois making out in MOS while downtown Metropolis collapses behind them).
