I feel like he has a single line that movie. Most of the time he is just doing silent henchman stuff and it feels really weird.
Better question is why is Kal Penn not just Daily Planet employee because dude is brown he had to play a henchman?

I do 100% buy into the Ultraman clone thing.. I just don't believe battle damaged Superman is the clone, mostly because all the "signs" that it's a clone have other explanations which are far simpler.
Why are they then filming a close-up of David trying to fix his hair, in particular the S curl:

It says clone trying to figure out how to be Superman to me.

According to My Adventures with Superman, Murder Boards work. :o
It worked for that conservative group that disproved their theory that Harriet Tubman was transgender based on pseudoscience they made up.

No, they have hair and makeup artists who do that as seen in countless other shots. It would actually probably break a union rule for him to do it himself.
It's such a ridiculously small thing I really don't think anybody would make a fuss about it, especially if the curl only needed a minor change.

David's hair and makeup artist is right there in the photo. She is the blonde woman with the full sleeve of tattoos. If David really was just fixing his hair, I doubt she would just be standing back there smiling. She would probably move up and be telling him how it is out of place or would hand him a mirror.

I don't know about you, but as someone who has dressed up as Clark Kent for Halloween adjusting a spitcurl blind is very hard.
