Barbie is feminism 101 basic text book stuff that plays with multiple viewers perceptions of woman and men. What did you not get?
Barbie's a movie that only gets worse each time you rewatch it. It flirts with some more mature themes but then reverts to infantilism.

And I love Gerwig. I'm hoping her next film recaptures the magic of her previous work.

Between this and the bridge closure, I think we can assume a bridge disaster involving multiple people trapped in their cars.

Do we already have any casting calls for Cincinnati?

Apparently they will only film for two days there.

They got that with snyder. The public rejected it, otherwise we would be getting more. Move on, or don't.
I don't think the public rejected Superman "having struggles" or that it should be avoided in Super-movies. There's a lot of room to make Superman a contemplative type who struggles w the weight of the world... frankly, you would never get the full juice if you avoided that completely. You just need to make him more than that, too. Snyder's movies had limited reach because they're bad plots with one-note characters.

So, did the script actually leak? I've seen videos with that headline, wondering if it has any validity to it.

Give me two cases of Starbucks Doubleshots and an hour with Chris Evans and I can give it to you in 30 minutes!

I figured it was just for clicks, but I didn't wanna actually watch the videos lol.

Feminism earning a billion at the box office. Ok…….
I mean they're not wrong. IMO The movie wouldn't have been the success it was if not for the underlying messages in the movie. My girlfriend has always hated Barbie as a concept and yet she saw the movie 3 times in the theater.

Say whatever you want about it, but IMO - I haven't been thrilled with what I've seen so far. A few observations:
- Superman is coming to the scene after the JL has been formed. He's the new kid on the block that they didn't know about.
- This universe is rather large. We've got some less familiar characters going on.
- This movie is going for a more nostalgic, fanciful approach, with the suit choices and such.

We'll see how that all turns out, but for me - I don't want a cartoon come to life. That's what this feels like to me. At the same time, I want a Superman story that honors the spirit of his story, and this doesn't feel like it to me. This feels like a different kind of story with Superman in it. I feel like this might make things more fun, but it loses some stakes, and yeah... I just feel like it's not as interesting as seeing a complicated Superman form a Justice League in a world that's comparable to ours.

But Gunn is a great script doctor and has a good sense of keeping the characters first, so I expect it to have a lot of heart. And as long as it has heart, I imagine I'll be able to enjoy it.

It just feels like a direction that I wouldn't have taken, and I'm a little skeptical of.

I think it was more than feminism but I respect you guy’s opinion. Now back to Supes.

- Superman is coming to the scene after the JL has been formed. He's the new kid on the block that they didn't know about.

Where have you gotten that idea from?

There's no JL, and he's not the new kid on the block. The movie isn't an origin, he's an already established hero - and all we know so far is that there are other heroes too, but they seem to be operating in a more 'corporate' way than he is.

There is so little we know of this movie, as Gunn et al have been extremely good at NOT letting spoilers, well, spill. We only have small scenes photographed on the streets of Cleveland(I want a producer credit if anyone ever uses the title for a tv show), that we have no background information on. We have glimpses for which I am happy for, but very, very little else.

And we probably will not get much more between now and 7/11/25. We should at least wait for the first preview, then again, that could be misleading.

I am just going to try and be zen from now until I see the movie, but hoping for the best

Sure, this Superman film doesn’t really seem like my cup of tea either, but I’m not going to jump to conclusions about the story.

Many Supes fans have an idea of what they want from this character. They’ve been saying what they want for years and feel that they haven’t received that version they dreamed of. If they feel as though Gunn is delivering what they want, I say let them enjoy it.

Many of them may be far less open to new ideas and concepts than others. It is what it is. I would just like to see authentic positivity for this film without hate bashing previous films as well as the people that like them.

Regardless of what happens, this film will determine how Superman grows or doesn’t grow as a character and the content that follows. We’ll just have to see.

So you want Snyder.

Sorry to say, but that ship has sailed, the audience has spoken, and they're not interested.

Honestly, I could use the same logic to say the ship has sailed on Superman cinematically as a whole. Superman Returns wasn't a big hit either. Maybe the audience has spoken and they just aren't interested in Superman period. Or maybe it's that Snyder didn't do a great job with a good premise. Things really don't need to be so black and white.
