There is something about the shadow abbs that make it seem a bit boring compared to a dude that is built and perhaps when leaning down to stop something his abbs show a little. I know my gf didn't care about his muscles, she just said he is a babe and cute.
I have yet to see a fan manip which isn't infinitely worse than the actual costume they think they're fixing - for ANY movie.
How is this infinitely worse than the actual costume, though? It's just Superman's costume. LOL. Hard for a manip to look better than a real picture anyways.
The manip just looks like ****. And the painted on abs are the icing on the cake.
I think they figured the traditional look was a "been there done that" option when we've seen several fairly comic accurate looks in recent years - in the Snyder films, Superman&Lois and Routh's Kingdom Come look. Giving Corenswet this look might've meant a sigh of relief to those of us that were fearing a drastic change, but the layfolk may have gotten the impression of "yet another Superman thing". They chose the route that meant the most novelty.
I do like the trunks are now short shorts. The fake abs take me out still.
Same, that's one aspect of the original suit that I really enjoy. Fake abs look terrible.

. Corenswet's suit is not my favorite design. To me, it feels like a bunch of different ideas mashed into a final product that doesn't look particularly cohesive.

Btw I don't want to sound like I'm defending manips or fan-edits. I do agree with you, the vast majority of them look terrible. This one in particular looks kinda corny (oversized traps and fake abs). I just don't think the costume looks "infinitely worse" than what we actually got because what we actually got isn't great at all. IMO.
