I think we're taking that bit about Tate out of context.

who brings talent to a role that would otherwise be considered, frankly, boring.

He's saying her character was boring, not her performance.

Was so glad that both the character and Oldman got a chance to really shine in TDK. I also find Oldman so much more interesting when he's not playing someone who's crazy, much like I've always loved Robert Duvall's work.

Yes!!!!

Excellent discretion to theShape and Scoop. Thank you for holding back on answering many of these questions.

I acknowledge this is a spoiler forum, but some of the answers to these questions could simply only play out better on the screen, not through explanation.

I could be right here, but I think the reviewer means that on paper, a role like Miranda's might sound boring and generic, but Miranda Tate is such a great character that she makes it interesting and breathes new life into that role.

He says that Marion is good, so I don't think there's a problem.

There is if the character is boring. A good performance is always great, but not if it's wasted on a dull character.

I hope she's not boring for most of the movie until she's revealed as you know who.

The reviewer also says Hathaway blows Pfeiffer out of the water

I like that he calls Catwoman intoxicating. That's really good news.

Anne blows away Michelle? No way. I'm sure it will be amazing and interesting, but she won't blow Michelle anywhere.

Am I the only one who doesn't find that surprising?

No, I don't either. I love Pfeiffer's Catwoman, but she was pure Burton, just like his Penguin. Supernatural nine lives, a total basket case, who ate pet birds and licked herself all over.

I'm looking forward to a more traditional Selina Kyle.

She might be. I expect Tate would be pretty vanilla next to [BLACKOUT]Talia[/BLACKOUT]. Before the reveal, I want her to seem fairly unremarkable, know what I mean? Then, when the twist comes, BAM!

They don't say Tate is boring, they say it could have been a boring role but Marion does great with it.

The whole Talia thing seems boring to me, so I'm glad Marion does a good job making it interesting :oldrazz:

Wow JGL is really getting some raves for this, good stuff.

Link me up for the hell of it...

Much like how Cillian Murphy made a very one dimensional character in Inception interesting.
