The Flash The Flash General Discussion and Speculation Thread - - Part 11

I wish they would've just given each show a 2hr premiere where they wrap up last seasons storylines so we can move on.
I'd have certainly approved of this direction. The whole mirror arc has been a borefest, much alike De Voe as the villain.

I can only hope they don't stretch this new mirror master (mistress?) out too long, at least as far as the mirror verse goes.

I wouldn't be totally opposed to keeping Eva around as a villain, cause we could do with some decent rogues, but the Iris in distress and trapped in the mirror realm needs to be wrapped up, and quickly.

Might we also have Thawne back this season too? Always a welcome addition. Now for the speed theories...

I forget. Has this show had a good non-speedster main villain? Main villain, I said. Since Snart was never really a main villain. Plus, he had a code. Maybe Grodd, but effects-wise, this show probably couldn't have him pop up as often as I'd like.

I really liked the Thinker til he bodyswapped.

Its going to be interesting to see how easily the other shows pivot. Batwoman had the pressure of pretty much having to restructure the show, but the others won't that that kind of pressure. Well, except for writing out Ralph...

1. Captain Cold
2. Killer Frost as a villain
3. Grodd
4. King Shark
5. The Trickster
6. Abra Kadabra
7. Weather Wizard

And unfortunately for this, most of those villains have been wasted or are no longer available to use.

1. Captain Cold- Shipped to and killed off on "Legends".
2. Killer Frost- Now a hero and member of Team Flash.
3. Grodd- Reformed gorilla.
4. King Shark- Reformed shark.
5. The Trickster- Most likely never to be seen again.
6. Abra Kadabra- Not really a memorable villain imho.
7. Weather Wizard- Replaced by his daughter.

I still can't believe how this show has never once capitalized on using the "Rogues" correctly. Black Hole should have been treated as an legitimate threat with Grodd being the mastermind in the shadows. Instead, they made them look like a villainous group from a campy show in the 90's. And the RF has pretty much lost his cool edge from Season 1 by having Tom constantly return as a different version of Wells for every season.

I would like to add the Bloodwork guy on the list.

None of these characters were ever main villains though. :p

I do believe that Kadabra is due to appear again in the new season.

This is one element of crisis that they should've capitalised on. Crisis would have allowed the writing team to recast every member of the rouges if they wanted too, but did they? Nope.

Crisis was a mess, much alike the situation with the rogues here.

I thought Bloodwork was terrible
He was terrible.

I’d like to think they’re just wrapping up this plot, since they didn’t get a chance to do that last season.

I hope they wrap up the Mirror Mistress plotline in the first episode as quickly as fake Bruce Wayne (Hush) in Batwoman in the first episode of season 2. I don't care if it feels rushed. They can rush it even into the first 5 minutes of the new season of Flash for all I care.

I think The Flash going for the 10.

I hated Smallville and prefer The Flash overall so if it's a matter of bragging rights, I'd rather this show take it, but at the same time...neither show had any business going on this long and both passed their prime well before this point. :funny:

Hey I’m a Smallville fan too but I wouldn’t be upset if they go 10.

side note: I can’t believe this year it’ll be 10 years since the show ended and 20 since it premiered. I really miss the show.

I agree.

To each their own, but I disagree like alot. For all its flaws, Smallville at least brought several Superman related content into the live action that the films failed to do.

The Flash hasn't been good since first three seasons.

And Smallville wasn't good past the pilot. :oldrazz:

Nah, I kid, mileage varies and all that. As you say, to each their own.

At 10 seasons/22 episodes a season you better bring every single thing Superman related to live action.

I'm saying that Smallville accomplished an unprecedented accomplishment . For starters it was successful before the superheroes buzz was extremely popular both in film and television.

Their wouldn't even be a Cw superhero tv series, let alone a Green Arrow series without Smallville that first introduced Oliver Queen.

Both Amell and Gustin admitted multiple times when they talked with Michael Rosenbam in his podcast, how Smallville paved the way and how grateful they are for the success.
