The Flash The Flash General Discussion and Speculation Thread - - Part 11

Regarding Sue, I can’t honestly see them continuing with her if there’s no Ralph. They’re kinda’ a pair - at least in the long term. What can that character, by herself, possibly bring to the show?

It’s sucks for the actress, but hopefully she’ll find work elsewhere. Regarding Ralph though, or more specifically, the elongated man... if they can fabricate another Batwoman out of fresh air, couldn’t they do the same for Ralph? Recast and continue where they left off..?

Who is this new Elongated Man going to be? Dalph Ribney?

Why would this new one continue with Sue?

I suppose though that they could attach Sue to someone else. It's not like Oliver Queen ended up with Dinah Lance (who didn't even have that name) but with Felicity instead.

As many people have said already, the flash cast is already overpopulated.

When was the last time Cisco or Caitlin genuinely had a purpose on this show? Next they’re promoting Chester and Allegra? Cisco will be demoted further, and if/when Caitlin comes back, they won’t know what to do with her.

Chester may take over from Cisco, but once Allegra and Nash make up they’re going to lose the point of having her around too. It’ll be back to the Barry and Iris show.

Even Ralph hasn’t done that much this season. The focus has very much been on Barry, the mirror verse and the speedforce.

I wonder how this is going to change the final episodes of this past season they were planning on filming once they could. I imagine they’ll get a massive rewrite.

Next season should be interesting.

Why should fiction be the only place where people practice the godly understanding of things with compassion, mercy and forgiveness? Over something like wrong tweets made years ago?If he's actually acted this way, why wait till now to fire him?

Villains arent automatically welcomed with opened arms, it takes time usually. We're not running these people out of town, locking them up...they got fired from their job. Look at Billie Bush....he took the brunt of his past interview with Trump, got fired, and is now coming back into the workforce. This hasnt been 10 years where we're still holding Hartley accountable, it's not even one month. Its 72hrs thus far.

It isn't a either/or situation where either you act like a horrible person 100% of the time or you are a saint 100% of the time. There are plenty of people who can act professional at work and complete *****es in their personal lives/online.

I think they will resolve the Eva and Mirrorverse story arc by at least episode 2 of season 7 then we will move on to Godspeed.

I wonder how this will effect the episode originally shot as 6x20 now as 7x01, as it was 90% completed before production shut down.

If there were Ralph scenes in it, now it's probably even less than 90%.

Yeah, they might have to reshoot the whole episode again, or even rewrite parts of it, depending on his role.

They might reuse the action scene with the Flash and perhaps a few others, but that could be about it. They might have to fashion a new episode around it to fill out all the missing Ralph parts.

I mentioned this in the recasting thread but Ralph is probably one of those few characters that you could recast and provide an believable in-universe explanation for it due to his powers.

You could always say that he got framed as well and had to permanently take on a new appearance.

That's kinda what I meant as those "jokes" don't work online as they come across as dumb and insensitive by either someone that don't like that kind of humor or by someone who actually think he's serious. Besides its all subjective as there are people out there that think his tweets are actually funny (I don't think they're funny but I'm playing devils advocate)

Its important to note that these are just rumors made up by the WestAllen fans to make Danielle Panabaker look bad and unlike with Hartley Sawyer there's no actual evidence that Danielle is a racist. They can dislike her for whatever petty reasons but accusing her of being a racist is a step too far as there's no proof.
Well Said.

But what about Sue? She was framed as well. I wouldn't want her to take on a new appearance. I liked Natalie Dreyfuss in the role. If she stays as she looks normally then there's no reason Ralph should change.

They could probably throw in a twist; maybe stating that his secret identity was exposed or that the charges against him are impossible to reverse whereas Sue's aren't.

Or maybe they could just say that he had an accident involving some meta-gene factor that resulted in him being unable to revert back to his original appearance.

With all of the crazy things that this show has done before, this wouldn't really be out of the ordinary in comparison.

Eric Wallace (who's the showrunner) really needs to come out and state on whether they will recast Ralph or not. This will unfortuntely close the door on Hartley Sawyer ever returning but still I would like clarity on this matter.

But he or Greg Berlanti or someone already said they weren't going to do a "soap opera recast" for Batwoman as that would present an "elephant in the room" supposedly for audiences. So if that's their reasoning for Batwoman, whose actress has only been around for one season, then it's likely they won't want to do the same for Elongated Man.

In both cases though there were perfectly reasonable explanations for why they would look different, even apart from just ignoring they look different like you'd get for James Bond.

Sue was the one framed. So, Ralph could take the fall for her and be "on the run". He takes on a new identity and, obviously, appearance.

How The Flash's Delayed Finale Twist Will Affect Season 7's 'Graphic Novels'

The abrupt stoppage of production in mid-March left The Flash with three written but uncompleted Season 6 episodes. Those episodes will now, in some form, lead off Season 7, triggering a ripple effect that will alter the rollout of the next, new Graphic Novels.

“Because this is The Flash, there’s a huge twist at the end of every season, and that twist is now kind of coming in the middle of the [start of the] season,” Wallace told TVLine. “And that has really affected our storytelling for all of Season 7,” which is hoped to premiere in January 2021.

Wallace, though, chooses to see the ripple effect as “yet another blessing in disguise,” akin to how Crisis drove the first half of Season 6. “Amid the horror and the tragedy of what’s happening with this pandemic, if we can find some kind of lemonade in the lemon, it’s us having to rethink a few things about how a Flashseason looks, given this ‘narrative unpredictability’ to the season.

“There are going to be more Graphic Novels next year,” he assured, “but they’re not going to be broken up in the way I think folks expect.”

Warner Bros. TV Sets Tentative Late August Production Restart Dates For Vancouver-Based Series – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Vancouver continues to be a bright spot in the fight against COVID-19 and for Hollywood studios’ hopes to safely resume production.

The situation remains fluid, but I hear Warner Bros. TV is planning for a late-August starts for the studio’s Vancouver-based broadcast series. Because a 30-day notice to actors is required, the casts of a number of WBTV series filming in Vancouver this week received letters from the studio, informing them that their services for the 2020-21 season will commence in August, subject to SAG approval.

The planned start dates, which are tentative amid a COVID-19 spike in the U.S., vary for the various shows; I hear they range between Aug. 20-27. I hear the dates reflect when actors would need to arrive in Vancouver for a two-week self-isolation required by British Columbia, the province that Vancouver is part of. Filming would start after the end of the quarantine period.

The list of WBTV shows that are eying late August stars include most Berlanti Prods. series, which film in Vancouver, including The Flash, Riverdale and Superman and Lois.

Big deal, they slapped something together with existing footage. There’s nothing new because they haven’t started production yet. Honestly they should’ve waited until say November when they’ll hopefully have new footage.
