The problem is that the comic book version has always looked dumb to me. That being said, I liked Michael Shank's performance, he was quite good.

Last night's episode was wonderful. Zoom is great! I love the costume, especially the mask. But Tony Todd doing the voice is probably one of the best parts. I am a huge Candyman fan. xD

There's a New Zealand promo with a pretty cool (in my opinion) spoiler that actually makes me excited about the next episode.

I was already pumped for next week's episode, but that New Zealand trailer. Lawd. Give it to me now.

holy ****ing ****, the New Zealand promo. how is that possible? can't wait that episode.

the suit looks a little different, not as wide in the shoulders, I think it's one Cisco quickly cooked up

I had the same thought, but I think it's a matter of lighting and
the fact that there are not the same special effects used when he was always vibrating.

Hmm, looks like Wells2 is trying to give Barry a psychological kickstart.

And it does seem slimmer. I like it; never liked the bulk of the original.

I think he's trying to tame Grodd. Reverse-Flash was his master of sorts.

PART ONE OF THE EPIC CROSSOVER WITH “ARROW” — In its second major crossover event with “Arrow,” Vandal Savage (guest star Casper Crump) arrives in Central City and sets his sights on Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée). After Vandal attacks Kendra and Cisco (Carlos Valdes), they turn to Barry (Grant Gustin) for help. Realizing how dangerous Vandal is, Barry takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver and team to hide her until he can figure out how to stop Vandal. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when a man with wings AKA Hawkman (guest star Falk Hentschel) shows up and flies off with Kendra. Meanwhile, Harrison (Tom Cavanagh) develops a serum to make Barry run faster and asks Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) to test it out. Ralph Hemeckerdirected the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#208). Original airdate 12/1/2015.

PART TWO OF THE EPIC CROSSOVER WITH “THE FLASH” — Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) take Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée) and Carter Hall (guest star Falk Henstchel) to a remote location to keep them hidden from Vandal Savage (guest star Casper Crump) while they figure out how to defeat him. Malcolm (John Barrowman) arranges a meeting between Vandal, Green Arrow and The Flash that doesn’t go as planned. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), Thea (Willa Holland), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) work with Team Flash to come up with a weapon powerful enough to destroy Vandal Savage. Thor Freudenthal directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Brian Ford Sullivan & Marc Guggenheim (#408). Original airdate 12/2/2015.

I'm more wondering if its the cure for whatever Wells-2 gave Zoom that allows him to steal the speed from other speedsters?

So I've been avoiding this show since it began. I tried watching Arrow (got nearly through the first 2 seasons), but it was just to comically melodramatic for me, so it left a bad taste in my mouth for CW super heroes. Yesterday, I happened to listen to Kevin Smith's "Fat Man on Batman" podcast where he pretty much recounts the entire first season of The Flash (its a really great listen), and his recap alone made me give it a try. I went home after work and watched 6 episodes.

It's not a show thats going to win any awards, but I'm really liking it, far more than Arrow. It really feels like a comic book, and isn't trying to be anything else. Looking forward to finishing the season and catching up on season 2!

Honestly, I've never given much weight to the whole "it feels like a comic book" praise that some people throw out, for one simple reason. Comic books, even superhero ones, are not some monolithic entity, they can be quite different from each other. So when people say that, my response is "which one?" Because Arrow DOES feel like a GA comic (Season 3 excluded where it was Batman-lite), the Marvel DD show felt very much like a DD comic, and the Jessica Jones show looks like it'll be taking a lot from Alias. And yet, these are all different from each other.

And, for right now at least, Arrow S4>The Flash S2 for me.

Very very good point. I think it's mostly because the Flash is reminiscent of quintessential Silver Age hijinks that most people associate comic books with. A lot of those stories don't have a genre analogue other than "superhero" and most people forget that comic books are a medium and not a genre.

As a result, shows like DD or Jessica Jones are more often compared to noir or crime drama, especially since these genres are already popularized in TV and movies whereas the "superhero genre" is more of a new and somewhat undefined thing.
