Zoom is an Earth-2 native. People keep seeming to forget that fact in their speculation as to who he might be.

I don't believe we know that? I mean, Zoom's costume is clearly based on Barry's costume, so it could be he's from Earth 1 or some earth with Barry as the Flash.

Also I've been reading people calling the Green Arrow that appears in the images when they jump into the breach as John Diggle. I mean I didn't have to pause much to know that it was Stephen Amell as the one armed Green Arrow. Also didn't he break it in one of his facebook videos recently that he'll be playing the one armed Green Arrow in Legends of Tomorrow's 6th episode?

He said "I am going to be appearing..." It can't be that by "I" he means the Green Arrow character and not himself or is it?

E2 Wells created Zoom, or at least feels like he did, so, yes, we know Zoom is an Earth-2 native.

You have a point. But don't think they're really interested in showing who's the mayor, maybe in a later episode. They can't really touch upon every single thing, I remember that E2's Green Arrow is Oliver Queen's dad and Oliver is believed to be dead when their ship sank, so that's another plot line to touch upon. That's why I think they'll be turning back to exploring more characters from E2 at a later stage of the show as well

How smart is Earth-2 Barry? We don't get an indication of his intelligence really. Either way, I don't see how he would be able to figure out that a super fast, completely covered, monster is his dad? Henry not being in jail and them having a stable relationship doesn't come off as a confirmation either to me. I'm still not trying to say that he is, but there isn't any real confirmation that he isn't.

Everything we know about Zoom paints a pretty clear picture of him being an Earth-2 native. Speculating that he's not just complicates the issue unnecessarily and flies in the fact of the things we know about him.

Because it's a show about time travel and different dimensions. Occam's razor went out the window when Eobard Thawne turned out to be a blonde guy that absorbed Harrison Well's likeness and was further pummeled by the younger-future Eobard is still alive because Speed Force explanation they had Harry speed talk his way through.

The complexity is part of the charm for me.

I don't think you can really apply Occam's Razor in this instance. Earth-1 Eddy is still very much a possibility since E1 Reverse Flash is still around.

I think people are just having fun with the idea that everything we know could be a misdirect. It's the nature of these discussions and it only amplifies when in the context of an already complex show that utilizes both time travel and dimensional travel, and has relied on plot twists in the past.

^ Up until the last month, it was not in Berlanti and Co.'s playbook(s) to utilize the kind of misdirection tactics you're talking about, and it just doesn't seem likely that they'd go to all the trouble of cementing Zoom as being directly associated with Earth-2 only to turn around and go "just kidding", particularly since, unlike with the "Felicity is in the grave" thing, Zoom's association with Earth-2 has been established as being absolutely central to the overall narrative arc of the season thus far.

There's effective 'twist' storytelling, and then there's just "jerking people's chains", and the kind of misdirection tactics you're talking about fall squarely in the latter category.
