I knew it the second cisco said that what he was doing . I even said it a few pages over.

Okay, probably didn't read your post then. The majority here seems to be quite surprised about this, though. And, tbh, it's probably also what the show was aiming for, seeing that Zoom is pretty much still a unknown. It just was pretty obvious to me from the get-go that Zoom is a really heavy-hitter. Can't imagine that Barry will be able to take him on in a realistic fashion towards the end of the season.

I loved the 'fight' between Linda and Barry as well, it was seriously one of the funniest things.

Barry not being able to feel his legs at the end? Cliche, so very chliche, but then again, this trope had to be picked up on sooner or later. I would have hoped for something to happen that Barry would finally be able to work on his own for an episode or two, but now it looks like he will depend even more on his friends. Poor silly-boy TV Flash, he just gets no real possibility to shine.
not really Zooom did punch barry in the back at the bottom level of where the spine is before running him through town to the police station and news office before heading back to star labs. aND YOU CAN HEAR THE SOUND WHEN HE DID IT.

and then he stabbed him before cisco shot him with another one of those de speed powering traq's

Yeah that is the part that confuses me to. I mean he showed that he was way more power full then any one else that has came threw. I guess when he did get shoot maybe that would weaken him some but even if it did why wouldn't he just leve and then come back latter and finish barry off. later? Its not like they could stop him. So he is now on earth 1 going around and doing nothing? I mean I would think he was now lose on the city to do what ever he wants and to kill who ever he wants.

There is this rumor of the earth II Henry Allen being Zoom going around. Maybe he can't bring it over his heart to defeat an alternative version of his own son - but getting others to do so is somehow alright, in like a twisted way of sense?

But it could also be that it is just convenient writing again, the writers of the show did make a couple of poor decisions so far, so maybe they wanted a fight between Zoom and Barry early on but not have Zoom off Barry the first moment the opportunity offers itself to him. There is probably a reason, though.

Maybe it is an evil Barry, though, and for some law of nature he is not allowed to kill an alternative version of himself because it would undo the fabrics of time and space? :whatever:

ohh , but he can snap his son't alternate self spine? ouch some dad earth II Henry Allen is then . ouch

I don't know why you point this out to me. I've already been aware of this as it is pretty obvious in the show.

What I mean by cliche is that this trope is used at all, not that it makes no sense for him to be unable to use his legs after he has beaten to a pulp by Zoom. It makes perfect sense for dear Barry to have lasting injuries for this... although, why the speed-force doesn't take care of it like in an hour or so is a whole other topic on its own... -_-;

Yes, he isn't going to win the daddy of the year award. X3

Though, I guess that, if this should really be Henry, he is pretty much deranged by this point if he really pulls all this shxx off.

oh the reason I said it is cause nerve damage is way harder to heal and is the worse to suffer from of all ingery's if barry was normal he wouldn't heal from that at all . no chance to walk again unless experimental surgery's involved. they said the speed force is working so he still has his powers. it'll just be a while.

Damn sick episode!! Zoom really used Barry as a rag-doll!
Seems like Eobard's wheelchair is still good for something ^^ how ironic.
Probably Barry is just temporarily crippled, well lets hope so..
I wonder how they're gonna deal with Zoom, even tho Cisco shot him (i would've kept on shooting if i was cisco :p) he still got away easily..
maybe somehow Grodd will work together with Team flash to stop zoom, but even Grodd wont stand a chance..

I bet they'll have to find out who zoom is in the first place, maybe then they can prevent zoom's existence..
maybe they an ask help from future barry e1, since he'd already fought zoom...

Again, i love this episode, will watch it again and maybe again to figure out every lil thing that's been said and done ^^

wait you want earth 2 arrow oliver's dad Robert to come to this earth one ? why???? it won't help but to confuse the planet much less Oliver and he's poor in this world (earth one ) too. There's no point

Either Arrow E-2 comes to E-1 or Flash goes to E-2, it creates beautiful storytelling drama and Geoff John loves daddy issues, he did this with Batman:

I've a problem believing that, I doubt that the source of the damage really make an impact on how the speed force works. It regenerate on a molecular basis, cells, muscle tissue, bones, etc. Nerves are nothing else than that. Why should it be harder for it to regenerate nerves? I mean, of course, the writer can use this excuse to give Barry a longer time to recover but it's still not a very sound explanation.
It's like with his powers, for some odd reasons they work during one fight but a couple of days later they won't under the exact same circumstances.

I thought this episode was boring until zoom entered the picture. There plan was completly obvious and did they not think zoom would be able to see everything they were doing? I did like that arrow easter egg where he died on the boat and his dad survived on the island. I know they probably wont but it could make for a great moment if oliver meets his dad again somehow and gets closer.

You know, I feel like Jay being the one to shoot Zoom from behind while he was at STAR labs would have been a great way to bring him back, especially given on how it would serve that he's trying to stand up to his fears in Zoom.

I think there is a reason they did that...Vibe can affect Flash's speed.

IIRC, In New 52, Vibe was recruited was Waller for JLA (to counter Flash's speed).

I think Barry is going to need help from Jay, Firestorm, Vibe, Hawks and maybe even Atom to beat Zoom.

(granted, Cisco did shoot Zoom - so he might have lost some of his speed).

Loved the jab at Captain Cold gun.

Cain was right, Zoom has Jesse Quick caged.

I knew Dr. Light went invisible, Cisko reminded me of The Human Torch when Mr. Fantastic had Spider-Man's alien costume contained.

"God, you'd think the serial killer version would've been the bigger jerk." :funny:

Patty continues to be fun and spunky, wonder when someone might start considering her annoying.

No, don't let Linda play the role of Light, that is the stupid I feared they might go with.
In other words; I agree with Joe, it's a terrible idea.

Iron Man the movie, armor test run came to mind.

Damn it, they are back to Barry unmasking insanely.

LOL, the play is funny, the result is scary.

So, Barry is having his Knight fall in this show, [blackout]and in comics of current as well, but there it's with Reverse Flash/Eobard Thawne, who I'm pretty sure has his brain eaten by Gorilla Grodd someday in the future? I guess Barry going back in time to fix things made Thawne somehow go super nuts instead of being food for Grodd[/blackout]

Nice use of this issue.

This was the cover that immediately come to my mind when I saw the ending! XD

In any other show, having the protagonist paralyzed from the waist down is groan-inducing. But here, where the character is a gorram speedster, it can work narrative magic. Let's hope they really dig into it.

So after seeing tonight's episode, who would you guys list as the most intimidating Villain in this DC Universe?

1. Zoom

2. Slade Wilson/Deathstroke

3. Damien Dark
Zoom, easily.
There is no second guessing on this one.

Man Zoom is vicious and downright frightening. When he paraded Barry around I both laughed and cringed. The tonal shifts from the first half of the episode to the second were pretty dramatic but very effective.

I do wonder if Wally will get speed force powers this season because it's looking like it's gonna take a variation of the flash family (Jay, Jesse and Wally?) to help out Barry with the big bad this year.

Best scene for me though was:

Dr. Wells: DON'T TOUCH ME!!!

*proceeds to smirk as Cisco leaves the room*

lmao what an ass!

I got the vibe (wink) last night that Zoom is Barry from the future or an alternate universe, as many of us have suspected, although I could see him being an alt-universe Henry Allen.

I'm not really a fan of the latter concept. Depends on how its executed, but it would simply be a riff on the Flashpoint concepts of Thomas Wayne becoming a twisted version of Batman or Martha Wayne becoming The Joker.

Right now? Slade. The other two haven't been around long enough to match or surpass him.

Something that stuck out to me was the line "You want to be me, you want to be a hero?" and Zoom responds ,"Hero's die."

To me this could point to Zoom being Eddie, he was the hero at the end of season 1 on Earth 1 and sucked into the singularity. He was referring to himself.

There also seems to be a heavy Parent child theme going. Perhaps its Earth 2 Henry Allen referencing Barry, Maybe he died on Earth 2 and that caused Henry to go Dark?

Just pure speculation. But I don't think Zoom is Earth 2 Barry. I know it's probably a stuntman in the zoom suit but as far as casting a stuntman he is WAY WAY bigger then Barry.

That scene, where Caitlin asked how Flash would match Zoom's speed, and Cisco quickly explained it? I need more of that. Barry, on his own, quickly thinking on his feet and coming up with a strategy to take on the villain, without constantly asking for help, and 3-4 scientists in a room coming up with a solution.

That is one of the reasons I hope it's Henry. Wesley Shipp stills seems to be in pretty good shape, and he's way bigger than Grant.

This, THIS.
And I want his future plans to work.

And Tom Cavanagh looked a lot bigger in the Reverse Flash suit.
