They did that. Like once, when they first found out this Wells is from Earth-2. But there's been no mention of Thawne since.

Because, for them, it was Wells. Even if there was A Wells before, the man they first met was the same one who betrayed them and tried to kill them years later. To them, that guy will always be "Wells".

Totally zoned out for the first 3 quarters of this episode but woke the hell up once Zoom showed himself. For an episode titled "Enter Zoom" you would figure he would be the focus. I'm just glad that his debut was worth the wait and more. Zoom is a real monster, I hope the serum Cisco hit him with doesn't suddenly bring him down to Barry's level.

This pure speculation but I always had the sensation that Eobard picked a lot of Wells' traits when he stole his body. Almost like if he were Wells in nature (his mind, intelligence and personality - as we see with Harry, Wells seemed to have the potential to be a real dick) and Eobard in nurture (his life, memories and experiences, his hate of the Flash).

Of course this doesn't justify our cast blaming someone who is very clearly not the Reverse Flash, but I can see why they're comparing them, in the sense that the Reverse Flash and E2 Harry show relatively similar behaviour.

I doubt the serum is permanent, Zoom got hit by one, Zoom hit Barry with two of them, if it slows Zoom down, Barry will be a lot slower aswell.

I really liked the episode. Zoom was terrifying, especially the way he dragged Barry all over town. For a fairly silly show, it manages to make its big bads surprisingly frightening.

It was funny how the writers admitted Dr. Light's plan to take over Linda's identity made no sense. When did she hack into the Star labs system any way? It was only a few seconds between her escape from her cell and Caitlin saying lockdown wasn't working.

Barry's paralysis will no doubt be the reason for Jay's return. Barf.

Umm Barry, you remember when you called up GA and Firestorm to help you take out RF? Well, you might want to consider doing that again, because Zoom makes RF look like a toddler by comparison. Oh and while you're at it, go visit Captain Cold in prison and see if he'll get the Rogues to help you out in exchange for a favor or something.

Better yet, the entire CW-verse JL vs. Zoom. Because it's looking like that's what it would take to beat this thing.

Isn't that the question of the day?

I'm also wondering why she didn't turn invisible the second she got to Earth 1, if she was so desperate to hide from Zoom.

Well, it is probably something that takes effort and she would have to concentration on, not on and off like a switch.

Also it might be sort of cold to be running around naked.

And it is not a solution, she going to spend the rest of her days naked and invisible?

Damn. That was good. Oh so good.

It's pretty amazing how the tone went from pretty light and comedic with Linda portraying Doctor Light to downright terrifying as Zoom brutally assaulted and paralysed Barry. Not to mention temporarily (?) removing Barry's speed force powers.

Zoom is really making the Reverse Flash look like nothing more than a minor irritant. And as much as I want to know more about Zoom, including who is really under that creepy mask, I'd almost prefer TPTB to allow Zoom to be a terrifying mystery. I'm not sure the "reveal" is going to possibly live up to the ... menace that Zoom has established.

All that typed ... what is up with Zoom? He was sending Earth 2 villains to Earth 1 to kill Barry when apparently he was capable of easily killing Barry whenever he wanted to. I had thought that Zoom couldn't travel to Earth 1, or feared doing so in case he lost his powers like Jay did, but he popped across and beat Barry to a bloody pulp without even breaking into a sweat. Are his attacks on Barry personal, that is, does he simply want to mess with Barry as opposed to killing him? After all, he seems to have simply toyed with Jay on Earth 2 (unless Jay really did just run away whenever Zoom appeared, although it appears that Zoom could have easily caught and killed him).

And I hope that Doctor Light returns as a hero who helps Barry to defeat Zoom. It doesn't have to be right away, but it would be nice if at least one Pipeline prisoner was capable of being reformed and doing good.

Great showcase of Zoom's villainy. Very scary and leaves you feeling for your hero. Zoom conveyed hopelessness throughout Central City. It was a sad moment but also cool just due to how awesome of a villain he is. It also raises to question : How do you even defeat this guy at all?

I'm thinking they might reveal a major power flaw for Zoom or a character flaw. His refusal to just kill Barry when he's got the chance seems to imply that he needs him, or is so wrapped up in cowardice and pride that he can't think right. We know that Zoom stole Jay's speed and wants to be the only speedster on any world, and that he is holding Jessie Quick prisoner for some reason, presumably to do with Wells. Perhaps his powers have a finite charge like Thawne from last year? He seems to have left Wells and Barry alive for a purpose, therefore he probably has some kind of exploitable weakness.

And I do think they might reveal Zoom's a coward. He's got tremendous power, but he ran away from the initial portal, ran off after Cisco tagged him, and seems to have an angry reaction when reminded of his mortality when he says "I will not die!"

If this is E2 Barry, perhaps that's the defining difference between the two.

I don't think Zoom left Barry alive on purpose. If Cisco didn't save the day, then Zoom would have killed Barry in Star Labs. And even prior to that, he had been sending Meta-Humans from his world to carry out that task so I think it's safe to say that Zoom doesn't need Barry alive.

Some other thoughts - are Cisco's powers expanding? Not his intellect of course, since Patty figured out that Doctor Light could turn invisible, yet Cisco apparently didn't consider it to be a possibility.

But, his "vibe" powers. Was this the first time he had a vision of a parallel world which didn't directly involve the person he was touching? I know he's had "random" visions before of Earth 2 people on Earth 1, but this vision seemed a little different since he was apparently watching events playing out on Earth 2 in real time. Unless it has something to do with the emotions of the person who Cisco touches. Or it's just the writers "quick fix" way of showing whatever the heck they want to show.

Also, could Cisco have used some sort of speed-neutralising powers to shoot Zoom? Did Zoom not see Cisco move, pick up and shoulder the gun? Is Zoom just that arrogant or did Cisco's "vibe" abilities somehow allow him to "block" or "disrupt" Zoom's speed force? I know that in the comics he has "sonic waves/seismic vibration" powers which mean that he can neutralise the speed force, but this would be the first example of Cisco demonstrating those powers on the show to my knowledge.

Zoom is awesome, I wish wells would dress up as the reverse flash and take down zoom, once and for all.

Sure. But that doesn't explain why she couldn't have done it when she arrived to get out from under Zoom's thumb.

Also it might be sort of cold to be running around naked.

Didn't stop her from leaving the Pipe Prison.

And it is not a solution, she going to spend the rest of her days naked and invisible?

Never suggested otherwise.

Zoom was pretty much saying, "So this is your boy, huh?"

I'm not sure I understand how temporarily going invisible would save her from Zoom. He can see through the breaches and can tell the two Linda's apart. Eventually she'd have to go visible and Zoom would surely take notice.

Yeah, but did she know that? I don't think she did, because she would've known that trying to take a train out of Central City - or swapping places with her double - wouldn't have done her any good.

A great episode - okay I kind of turned off during the Linda training scene, and I think the glowing lights on Dr Light's gloves look cheap BUT Barry got the ass-kicking of his life and the way it was done was almost hard to watch. Barry's stupid sometimes and stubborn, but likeable - it was tough watching him get smacked down and absolutely humiliated. It was emotional without being OTT (although it came close).

I'm hoping that Zoom gets what's coming to him in a particularly nasty way. And while I think the name Zoom is a bit silly, the character is anything but - he's a monster alright.

I still suspect he's Earth-2's version of Barry, just really twisted.

Anyway, looking forward to next week - best superhero show in TV to date (although I have to say Supergirl's not bad either, and Arrow's in great form).

Zoom was creepy as hell. LOVED that scene where he dragged an unconscious Flash towards Iris' workplace and the police station. It kinda reminded me of what people were hoping Bane would do to Batman in TDKR. And that ending! :wow:

I don't follow the spoilers but with Linda now knowing who the Flash is, will she have a bigger part in the series? Iris continues to be awesome this season. Barry and Patty continue to be cute as well. I support it.

On a completely shallow note, Cavanaugh is looking really fine as Earth 2 Wells. :ninja:

liked the desk scene with joe and patty, a contract to last year when eddie was trying to get joes approval for iris.

Yeah, but did she know that? I don't think she did, because she would've known that trying to take a train out of Central City - or swapping places with her double - wouldn't have done her any good.

That double thing was a last ditch effort and "the best bad idea" she had. She may have thought she could trick Zoom by pretending to be E1 Linda, but she likely knew going invisible wouldn't have helped her. She can stay E1 Linda forever, but she can't stay invisible forever.

the relationship between iris and linda is a bit much this year. even before the editor got killed. linda has been a journalist for a few years, was a bit more hard nosed last year. something seems of on it.
