The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

Yeah, I don't think even the Joker would of chopped her in different pieces.

I don't think he actually did such an act. It was probably just a ...well, sick joke.

Yeah, I don't think even the Joker would of chopped her in different pieces.

Ledger's Joker would if it suited his purpose. He was willing to set fire to a pile of money with a man sitting on top of it. He was willing to blow up fairies with children aboard, so yeah, he'd do it.

I could imagine Joker doing something like that in a traditional chefs costume. Doing a running commentary on what he is doing like those crappy cooking shows :D

Thanks, but I was really just pointing out the amusing typo.

Still ... sticking the victim's chopped leg into her genitals is a bit more sadistic than I can picture the Joker doing. :o

You're saying he has limits? I'm sure he would do it if he thought it was necessary....or if he just had the whim to do so.

A Glasgow smile...brrr. I dont know which is worse, the fact that it happens or the fact that it happens so often it has a name.

Joker has limits in his style of killing. He is not seriously disgusting in his methods of killing people. Something they raised when they did the Batman/Spider-Man crossover, when Joker and Carnage joined forces:

Yea but see, I think Joker can be adapted many different ways and still maintain his main traits. I think Joker would do anything, absolutely anything for a laugh or to cause pain to others. A no holds barred Joker would do ghastly things, doesn't mean he wouldn't have a certain style and panache about it though.

There's only one version of the Joker that's done something really gross in killing someone, and that was in Azarello's Joker graphic novel that came out last year.

And we've been over this debate before over that story, Ace of Knaves :cwink: Aside from that story, there's nothing to support the theorey that Joker goes to extremely gross lengths like that for a laugh. His style of murder has been very consistent thru the years.

Yea man I know. But you can still stylishly dismember someone I'm sure! :D

The fact is Joker is a frickin sicko. And I believe he would do anything for a laugh. This is a guy who killed a load of boy scouts, who gassed a kindergarten, who was going to slaughter a load of orphaned babies. All these things were in canon and are much worse than cutting someone into little pieces.

But that's why I love Joker. He can be adapted in many different ways but still be the Joker you know?

You ever read Dark Joker:The Wild? I know it's a elseworlds tale and isn't in canon, but the Joker in that was sick, I mean REALLY sick. But he still came across as the Joker.

Without it being gross? LOL! I can't imagine how :oldrazz:

Yes, they are worse than cutting someone up. But the method of killing he used isn't. That's the difference. He used poison cotton candy on the boy scouts, gas on the kindergarten, and was probably going to poison the babies, too.

Nothing gross about those. Evil and twisted, but not gross.

Is that the vampire story?

Yea Batman is like a vampire beast thing. And Joker is a evil sorcerer who stabs babies and eats peoples brains and nasty **** like that.

Something as sick as that kind of takes away from the Joker's charm and appeal. It becomes from charismatic lunacy to just plain nasty.

One of my favourite comic book Joker.Very creepy and beautifully drawn by Kelley Jones.
On the other hand I really don't like his new Joker in Gotham after Midnight.
There is also another great Joker in an elseworld tale drawn by Alcatena, where Batman and the Joker are Pirates. (I forgot the title but I think it's in an annual LOTDK).

Not sure man. I got a torrent of all the Elseworld one shots aaagggeeesss ago. Not sure if I have it anymore, if I do I'll post a couple of pages

The Joker's flaying the mob boss in the "Joker" graphic novel was at least a joke. They were at a strip joint, and The Joker and Harley stripped off his skin, before slapping a dollar on his ass. Obviously, it's more grotesque and less playful than The Joker's humour is usually, but it does at least retain the theme of violence as a joke.

I thought that The Joker's participation in a gang rape was further from the pale. It was simply crude, and didn't seem to fit.

Joker never came across as a rapist, I just don't think he seriously would think it's all that har-de-har-har. Plus, I know he's supposed to the villain everyone loves to hate, but his fanbase would be a little squicked out if he started raping peeps. Funny how murder is tolerable, yet raping or child molestation is viewed as the ultimate no-no.

I always believe that he raped barbara and showed the pics to gordon to really piss him off. However that is what I believe. I think most of his horrible crimes are best served off screen and typically implied.
