Or how about a world destroyed by Parallax/Hal Jordan where most of the Earth is constructed and populated by citys created by emerald energy stolen from the Oan power battery.

The few remaining survivors live in fear which Parallax feeds off of.

Maybe the chosens mission would be to lead an attack on Parallax and bring hope to the remaining populace so it has nothing to feed off of.

I'm not digging it. That, as you described, would entail aknowledging the yellow fear demon. And that is never a good thing for me.

What is wrong with the Parallax entity? Geoff Johns did a good job with 'Green Lantern: Rebirth'

He managed to find a way to return Hal Jordan to his former glory, and delt away with the silly "doesn't work on yellow" rule.

Sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches. I'm still willing to admit that Superman had a mullet if someone wanted to rp Super-mullet-Man

 

[The Question]

It was a complete cop out. It disregarded the idea that Hal simply went insane (which, after finding out that everyone you ever new or cared about died in a firey holocaust, is a somewhat reasonable course of action) and said that it wasn't his fault at all. This has also lead to the current GL series kind of sucking. Instead of using the character arc of Hal trying to regain everyone's trust, it's simply a generic super hero series that is rather boring. No, in my mind, the yellow fear demon never happened.

Ok since my guy for the chosen wasn't accepted I would like to pick up a MRC I just have a quick question about them. Since this would be the Batman Beyond world would the MRCs be characters like Blight and old Bruce Wayne?

I had another idea for a possible universe to visit.

Maybe the populace of Krypton heeded Jor-Els' warning and prepare rockets to escape the destruction of there planet. So a couple hundred Kryptonians escape and find themselves seeking somewhere to live so they head to Earth.

The alien visitors are welcomed with open arms and their technology brings the planet to a new age of wonder.

When the Kryptonians start to manifest their powers is when the trouble starts. Lex Luthor is elected president and a rift forms between the humans and the Kryptonians lead by General Zod who secretly slayed former lead Jor-El, and blaming it on the earthlings.

No, you don't post as your character until said so by the GM's... since this RPG is very GM run... but when the mission starts, you can play as any MRC and start posting then... until then, you wait...

or you can come up with more ideas...

A Batman Beyond mission would be awesome. Especially if my Superboy character gets accepted.

I just think it would be cool to see Superboy and Batman Beyond team up.

Ya thats the thing, its been longer than a week since we started saying that we were gona kick this thing back into gear and so far we havent.

I know I'm getting way too ahead of myself, but I had an idea for a story involving the Crime Syndicate of Amerika.

Since the fundamental rule of that universe is that evil triumphs over good, say Lex Luthor forms a group of super heroes (modeled after DC villains) and defeats the Crime Syndicate, bringing peace to their Earth.

That's when the Multiverse gang would have to step in and actually help the bad guys defeat Luthors League and return that Earth to its miserable state.

I think it would be rather interesting to see how the characters react to having to be the bad guys to accomplish their goal. Maybe some members of the group would side with Luthor, not caring about their mission but rather the people of the anti-matter Earth.

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Donna Troy and Hawkman get involved somehow with the mutliverse escapades, since those two probably have the most messed up histories.

I know everyone is probably getting sick of my ramblings, but I want to submit a couple more ideas for your approval.

First off is the Matrix-esque, post apocalyptic, eternal darkness, machines rule the surface of Earth while the few remaining humans hide underground universe.

Brainiac (whatever version you prefer) with the help of the Brain, Amazo, Metallo, Cyborg Superman, Brimstone, and whatever other robotic characters you want to throw in there have taken over the Earth. Most of the worlds heroes are killed while others are imprisoned and used for energy sources (Green Lantern, Firestorm, Captain Atom, Flash)

The last remains of humanity would be lead by such characters as Bruce Wayne, a depowered Clark Kent, Selina Kyle, Oliver Queen, Dinah Lance, Lex Luthor, Diana Prince and Ras Al Ghul.

Not all the machines will be evil though, the Metal Men, Red Tornado and Cyborg (Vic Stone) will secretly try and help save humanity from utter annihilation.

The Chosen would need to help the few remaining humans free their comrades from the surface power plants. Get Clark Kent above the clouds so he can get sun light for the first time in many years, and bring hope back to the non-machine inhabitants of the world.

For my final idea of the day, I decided to go with something very surreal, but if pulled off correctly will have a real unifying effect on this group by splitting everyone up for a story.

After their latest mission (whatever it may be), the chosen find themselves marooned and seperated on a strange Earth where the only things flying through the sky are birds and planes.

Yep, you guessed it, a very Earth-Prime style Earth, sans the emo Superboy.

Though there are no super heroes on this Earth, it does have its own group of chosen that the multiverse hopping chosen feel compelled to seek out.

Who are these chosen? I can't tell you because I honestly don't know, but each of you do.

Before you ask what the heck I'm talking about, I'm saying that this Earths chosen are you. As in the people reading this on their computer screens.

What's your name (don't have to include last name if you don't want)? Where are you from? How old are you? Take us through your average day and give us a feel of who you really are before you meet up with your rpg character.

Your hero should probably be incognito since super heroes don't exist in the real world. Show us your reaction to meeting the character you play. Feel free to not mention this rpg in your posts to avoid paradoxs and/or headaches.

In the end, I hope that each of you can learn a little something from your hero and that your hero will learn a little something from you.
