The Multiversers: Hypertime

Kara laughed along with Kal-El at the Jesters antics.

She smiled and gazed down at the black haired child.

"The Kents...we need to find the Kents."

"Okay. Sooooooooooo..........road trip?"

Out hero skips over to Bruce Wayne and hugs him around the neck.

"I call shotgun!"

Savitar appeared in the group after a brief search of the original battlefield found that all the Martians were pushed back.
Looking at his surroundings he took in the spacecraft and the small child in the Kryptonian's arms.

"So, I take it that is the young, Kal-El?"

Kara nodded.

"I'm guessing that's the next part of the plan. Since we haven't been whisked away to giant spaceship."

OOC: Little help Q?

"Well let's get the child to the Kents, if they still live, and get them all underground. The Martians will surely come looking for the young Kal-El."

"And I might suggest that we hurry. the Martians will certainly return, and in greater numbers", said Savitar as he looked around the horizon making sure that there's no Martian ships on the way.

"Well, looks to be that anyone who ain't dead would be in one of the cities. I mean, the countryside isn't exactly choice real estate at the moment. Savvy, why don't ya' take the kid and look for the 'rents?"

Kara sighed and turned to Batman.

"Or the might be hiding. We should look everywhere reguardless. Would you happen to know of all the underground facilities around Kansas? We can start there and then move out farther if needed."

She quickly gave a discription of what the Kent's should look like, before she handed the child to the Jester. Waiting for the Batmans answer.

Our hero looks down at the child in his arms.

"......so. You're a baby. Is that as interesting as it sounds?."

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but you all are not of this existence, correct?"

Kara hovered in the air for a second.

"No." She said before jetting off, a red trail behind her.
She'd leave the rest of it to the Jester to explain. The man was more tactful than she was.
Using her x-ray vision she scanned over the land. Hoping that Savitar was having better luck than she was.

"We're an interdimensional task force who's duty is to prevent events that would result in mass chaos on an intergalactic scale in specific universes. The pay sucks."

Bruce sees the woman fly off.

"Then why do you have the baby in your arms. He is of our existence."

Wally West, Gar Logan, and a young asian Green Lantern appear behind him.

"Why do you meddle?"

"I'm guessing you weren't paying atention to the part about preventing events that would result in mass chaos on an intergalactic scale. Really, that was kind of the most important part of what I was saying. I'm a little hurt."

Savitar raced down the streets of the town of Smallville.
He had been to the Smallville on his world before, but this was nothing more than a pathetic shell of what that happy, bright mid-west town was. Much of the buildings were discolored and in need of repair. There weren't as many trees in the small city, and the ones that were around were pretty much dead or dying.
Savitar came across people as he ran, but none of them the Kents. He had spent one Christmas with Superman's human family. He didn't want to come originally, but Clark insisted on it, and his conscious persuaded him into going as well.

So far, there was no sign of the Kents any where.

This is hopeless. I've searched the entire city and nothing.

Yeah, this does look pretty bleak. Definitely not the Smallville we know. Hopefully Superwoman is having more luck.

Yes, hopefully. At any rate, I think it is time to return to the clown and the child. I do not trust this world's Batman.

Without missing a stride, Savitar turned around and headed back to his teammates.

Savitar stared at the heroes as he took a stand next to the Jester and the cowboy speedster, Don.
"Sorry to interupt", said Savitar sarcastically.
"But, there's no sign of the Kents in the city. Hopefully Superwoman is having better luck."

"Maybe Batman", said Savitar as he turned his gaze to the resistance leader, "knows of an underground location that could be sheltering them?"

Kara landed lightly next to them.

"I've flown over and scanned the area North and to the east of us and found nothing."

She put her hands on her hips and stared at the resistance leader. Even standing on the ground she seemed to tower over him.

"Then they're obviously not alive."

I motion to the Flash as he rockets around the globe looking for an answer.

"What exactly is your mission? To release this baby into the hands of the just, correct? He would be one of us, raised safely by all of us. He would become the most powerful freedom fighter there ever was. He could be faster than blasterfire, stronger than a Martian warship, able to topple buildings onto itself with a single breath.

I look around at my compatriots.

"Justice for all..."

Kara crossed her arms.

"How would you know all that stuff? And I'm not about to give up on the Kents just yet. They need him as much as he needs them."

"This world needs him. Are you willing to risk it all just for a wild goose chase for an old couple?"

"Stop fighting you two! You're tearing this group of oddly dressed crimes against nature apart!"

Dude, just shut the **** up and get on with the narrating.

Fine. The jester steps towards Superwoman and Batman.

"Why don't we have a comprimise. Mr. Wayne, you and yours teach the kid how to use his powers. But, you don't raise him. Leave him with a pair of parents who'll teach him to be the exact oposite of Ultraman I assume he's supposed to be. Now, who in my world is the single most irreverant and devoid of morals in Gotham City? Hmmmmm......Boss Gordon! Yes. You know anybody by the name of Gordon? 'Cause if my world is oposite land, and Gordon in my world is a fat sack of crap who should have gotten the chair years ago, then this world's Gordon should be a darn nice guy. I think. I'm still kind of new at this."

"Gordon... Gordon... you mean Old Man Gordon? He leads the the Norm Resistance, the resistance for non-powered people. He's at another base, it's underwater though. We'll head there then."

I rocket back into my jet and head towards the Atlantic.

"Alrighty then."

The Jester bounces off the ground and into Batman's jest as it begins to take off.

"Hey, I said I called shotgun."

Kara takes the Baby from the Jester and holds him as Batman talks.

"This world needs him. Are you willing to risk it all just for a wild goose chase for an old couple?"

She opened her mouth again to retaliate but the clown interjected.

I rocket back into my jet and head towards the Atlantic.

Kara stays quiet till the rise into the air, picking the small space ship up in one hand she cradles Kal-El in the other and flys along at a slow comfortable pace next to Batman. Speaking so they can hear.

"I want to make one thing clear. We were told to put the child into the 'right hands.' And I'm sure they aren't you'res. If you hadn't noticed J'onn has a vendetta against you which means you're his arget. I can not and will not allow Kal-El to be put in danger like that. Nor will I agree to let you train him in his powers.

You sneered at us when we asked for help the first time and I should have made you into bat soup. You are not getting this child."

Her hard voice carried across the cold thin air at the altitude they were at.
She hated duplicity and that's all this Bruce Wayne had shown her. They didn't offer to help, and what's worse, his original words and mocking laughter rang in her ears and memory.

"A baby? Then what importance could a baby be?"
She gritted her teeth and looked down at the child cooing in her arms.

She smiled, motherly feelings washed over her as she thought of her own unborn child. She yearned for home and the feeling of Barts arms around her.
The only thing she liked her was the retreat from her horribly real visions. They didn't happen in this universe and she feared that when she did go back they'd hit her with an intensity that would paralyze her mentally.

Kara looks down at the ground below, the three speedsters racing along, leaving colorful trails, like airplanes in formation.

I look out of my window at Superwoman. I clench my fists around the pilot stick as i turn on the exterior speaker. Memories rush into my head like none other, and if I did not have my helmet on, someone would see my tears.

~Woman, you know nothing of our suffering. How could you, all ready to bring a baby into this world?~

I smile under my mask.

~How could I tell? Obvious clues. You, with your fanciful adventures. You can leave the life you have. We cannot.

I saw my parents killed in front of my eyes. Doused in fuel and lit on fire, actually. And when J'onn was ready to kill me, I was saved by a certain Jay Garrick. He was a speedster, and he got me to safety, right before his flesh was seared off his bones.

You know nothing about this "right hand". I am not like you, not like any of you. But in your team, you are all different. So then, Riddle me this adventurers: would you trust Kal-El with each of your own teammates?~

Kara stared at the man, a smile played across her lips.

He wasn't so bad after all, he'd figured out she was pregnant. Just like her Batman would have. A tear came to her eye as she thought of him and she turned her head to look into the distance, the blue of the sky arcing gently to meet the brwon of the earth. Even at this distance she could see the blue sky merging with the blue waters. And she smiled.

"No...I would trust them. Only because each has the ability to protect the child from each other. Know this, we chose to come here of our own free will. And such suffereing isn't exclusive to just your world." She veered off from the plane and flew high up into the sky past the clouds, the young Kal-El giggling in her arms. Tears stung her eyes as she thought to the friends she'd lost on various battlefields, various crisis'.

Kara, pauses over the water...Aquaman?

She looks down at the tiny Kal-El. Quickly scanning the spacecraft she has in her other arm she finds no cracks or fissures and places Clark inside it, sealing it up again, before she dives into the ocean.
Her cape and blonde hair flowing behind her in the blue water she follows the batjet.
