Our hero was led to his living quarters. There he found it decorated with a circus theme.

"Well slap my ass and call me mourice! This is my kinda place."

Our pro bono warlord of justice them proceded to engage in the most dire of matters.

Savitar thought over the creature’s words. It obviously was not too benevolent since it threatened them and their entire universes with death if they did not comply. It did say that if they carry out these missions they will eventually be returned to their own worlds at the exact moment of their departure.
Plus this creature may end up being a bigger threat to my reality than the witch. It would be prudent to stay on and observe this operation as much as I can, the Lord of Motion thought.

Yep, and if this Cronus is a threat, you have to find a way to shut him down.

Exactly, Savitar replied to his…guiding spirit.

“Very well, Cronus…I except your proposal”, declares Savitar as he straightens his posture and takes a regal stance.
    “Now…Ephialtes…show me my quarters.”

The computer complied by marking a path from the white room, down a series of halls, and into a well furnished domicile. In less than an instant, the Lord of Motion disappears from the room and is laying on the comfortable king-sized bed in his residence. He did not sleep though. He just laid back with his hands behind his head and stared at the ceiling. Savitar was lost in thought…thinking about the fate of his homeworld and his new teammates. The one called Superwoman he trusted as a fellow hero, but the others…well, he was not so sure about.
We will soon see if this Cronus has chosen wisely, he thought, Hopefully, it will not backfire and cause any unnecessary harm to the worlds we are trying to save.

The room. Basically, there was just a bed that looked mighty uncomfortable. Absolutley marvelous. Don laid down in the bed, but he didn't try to sleep.
Don was tired. Don was very tired. But these newfound teammates have proven very tiresome already. This is going to be a long however the hell long it'll take.

Helena watched the heroes flow into their rooms. She gave a silent yes to Cronus before being escorted to her room. The room was decorated like an Indian palace. Helena placed her jacket and cross bow on the bed.

    “This will be interesting,”

*I synchronize with Ephialtes, giving him the plans needed. I beckon for him to call the Chosen to be debriefed. The alarms ring for wakeup.*

"When will this first 'assignment' happen and how long will this take?" Superwoman asked.

"The first assignment question will be answered shortly."

Savitar stepped forward as well to speak to me.
“Superwoman presents some valid questions, and I would like to add one of my own. What will happen to the witch and my world while this…fixing of realities takes place?” Savitar asked maintaining his calm.

"Time is not an issue. There are dangers on this job and I do not have proper clearance from my superiors to bypass the the Gates Between and bring the dead to life. So if you indeed die, your Universe goes on without you. If you live, you will be returned to the same spot in the Timestream in which you left. I know you are about to ask the same question, Don."

"Eh. Not like there's anyplace I need ta be... wait, today's... Shoot, I'll miss the funneral. Ah, well, nuthin' I can do about it now..."

    "Like I said..."

Helena looked at Superwoman. “You know, we had a Supergirl on my world, she worked with the Black Canary, a real *****, now, what shouldn’t I just shoot you with a Kryptonite arrow, if you even are allergic to it like she was.
Helena was feeling so many emotions. Frightened, angry, upset, and pissed. Someone was going to get ****ed up face.

It was as she expected, the universes were very different, she could hardly see Dinah the way this Huntress decribed here, expecially since both Dinah and her husband Pieter had retired from Super-Heroing, and moved into the more stable job of mentoring and training.
She opened her mouth to ask about the 'had' part of the reply.

"If you notice, anything that can harm any other Chosen is now deemed inactive and useless. Your Kryptonite, when used against Superwoman, is lead, if you check your gear."

Helena looked at the Jester. "And you, Jester, you look like my dad’s sidekick, you even tried to kill him, then 10 years later you were shot with a sniper. I want answers, and I want them now! How do we get back home?”

"Sidekick? The Jester is NO MAN'S SIDEKICK!!!!! Well, there was that stage magician guy, but that doesn't count."

"The point is, you Five are the Chosen Five. If you die, another will take your place. If they die, same thing, so on and so forth. If you accept this task, or series of tasks, you will be returned to your world after a given period of Time. If you deny your place, and choose not to die on some mission, you will be returned back to your Homeverse and by not fullfilling your tasks as a Chosen, your Universe will crumble. You will then proceed to die. Either way, your best bet to stay alive is to complete your missions for however long, and then return to your Homeverse.

"And by the way, if one Chosen dies and is replaced, the mission goes on. For the safety of the Multiverse."

"I tell ya, I have half tha mind ta just let my world die. What's it ever don fer me? Nuthin', that's what. ...No, that's wrong. I... I don't want to make her cry. Fine, dammit, I'm in. You got any food in this joint?"

"This place, I call it the Scale. It's seperate, yet together with the Multiverse. A sort of Scope to the Multiverse. You can sleep here and eat here, spar here, and be dispatched to your missions."

*I clap for the Scale to hear me.*

"Ephialtes, show them their rooms! Ephialtes is the supercomputer than runs the Scale. I kept him simple, for the sake of the Scale. I chose not to bind him with the Timestream. Instead, he monitors. And he will do what you want him to do."

"Yes, yes, that's great. I was just asking. I don't need anything. Wait... that thing you said about harming others..."

As always, Don had a gun hidden up his sleeve, because you can never be too sure. His sleeves were long enough to go past his hands, obscuring the gun he held completely. Only when he took aim, at the Jester, did it become clear that he had anything in his hands at all.

    *click* *clickclickclickclick*

    Hm. Not loaded.

"Just my luck. Ah well. As you were."

Kara rolled her eyes, it was like the Teen Titans all over again.
Wait..did he just dismiss them? She had too many question's too ask for him to just let them hang..what about her family? Her life? People who depended on her?
She turned her head when the person who called himself Savitar answered.

“Very well, Cronus…I except your proposal”, declares Savitar as he straightens his posture and takes a regal stance.
    “Now…Ephialtes…show me my quarters.”

"I will not answer now. I'll go on one mission before accepting your proposal." Kara said, before the other heroes left the room, following the computer's marking's down the hall's. Kara lifted herself in the air and followed it.
No matter what he nuetralized in that room, Kara could have still snapped Huntress in half, surely not doing that should have earned some of Huntress's trust, as for the other one's, she trusted them, although the Don man seemed a bit slow, and The Jester seemed like the alter ego of Bart when he was Impulse.

The Marking's stopped in front of a door, Kara landed and opened it stepping into her....room.
It was her room, exactly as it had been when she left it at the Watchtower. She turned and looked into the hallway before the door closed, no it' wasn't the Watchtower, but a perfectly re-created carbon copy of her room there.
It wasn't really home, but at least it was familiar, she walked over to the closet doors and opened them, empty.

"Figures.." She sat on the edge of the bed and looked about before unbidden tear's came to her eyes.

She lay herself across the bed and held onto what would have been Bart's pillow, her hormones rushed and she cried.
No reason was needed, just the sheer emotional outburst. Her sob's abated and sleep claimed her.

    BWOOP! BWOOP! BWOOP!

Kara sat up in bed, clasping the bed sheet's to her chest.

"Nothing I haven't seen before." came a rich voice from the bathroom

"I still like to keep the mystery in the daylight." Kara teased as Querl came out of the bathroom and walked over to her, kissing her on the orehead.

    "Come on, we're already behind."

Kara slipped out of bed and walked to the closet, pulling out a pair of jeans and t-shirt. "I doubt it matter's, I mean how many award's does the Legion need?"

"It's not just the Legion..their inducting new members today. As former Legionnaires and now close advisors, it's our duty to attend." He answered, his voice muffled as he pulled on his shirt.

Kara turned around, noticing it was the same type outfit he'd worn since he was a Legionnair himself.
"You ever think of wearing something different?"
    She teased

Querl smiled, and combed his bonde hair with his hand before walking over to her and rsting his hands on her waist.
"It's comfortable and it works for me, why go through various exprimentation of cloths ear, with thing's I'm not going to be comfortable in, it's a waste of hours."
He leaned over and caressed her lips with his.

"You look lovely today." He whispered as he pulled back "You alway's do."

Kara looked up at him, draping her arm's around his neck.
"Hmm..buttering me up for something?" She commented smiling.

"I'll let you know tonight." Querl smiled before leaning in and kissing her again.

    BWOOP! BWOOP! BWOOP!

Kara sat up in bed, clasping the pillow to her chest.

She'd fallen asleep in her costume across the bed. Querl....BArt....She buried her head in the pillow thinking.
It was real this time..no doubt about it, and she was...in a timestream. Maybe that's what was wrong. Was time folding around her? Was she glimpsing or..being a Kara from another universe? Why just this one?

She threw the pillow on the floor and stood up. It was time for some answers.

Don was certain that he had heard something. But he wasn't moving until he was certain everyone else did. He later decided that he was being an ass, so he got up. He went to that room everyone was in before.

"Dammit, what is it this time?"

Receiving a summons to the main chamber, the Lord of Motion is there in less than a heartbeat. He appears in the main hall behind his fellows just as the being called Chronos begins it’s speech…

Ignoring the clown’s annoying attempt at comedy, Savitar asks Chronos, “And just what is this event that we must prevent?”
Savitar stands up straight and crosses his arms over his chest as he waits for a reply.

    I look at the team.

"In Uninverse 5617, before the coming of the being Kal-El, Mars invaded and conquered Earth. The Martians used their mind-control to rule over entire cities, allowing the human inhabitants only their natural survival needs (food, water, sleep, mating, etc.) and abolishing all of human culture. But, there is resistance.

After his parents were killed by Martian Enforcers, Bruce Wayne vowed to repel the aliens from the planet, even if he had to kill everyone of them himself. He gathered many others who shared his anti-Martian outlook around him and started a rebellion, protecting their minds with special anti-telepathic equipment. Thus, the Martian Imperial Command started the Human-Hunter program.

They took their best soldiers and trained them specifically to hunt and eradicate the human rebels. The best of these, and their leader, is J'onn J'onnz. He has come into contact with Wayne on many an occasion, the latest encounter resulting in the loss of J'onn's right eye. J'onnz has vowed revenge.

I will send you five back to a couple of days before the coming of Kal-El. You are there to help Kal-El into the rightful hands. Be careful."

    Ephialtes rings up the coordinates.

    "Any questions? Everyone ready?"

As our proffesional pie patron readyed himself for the transdimentional hop, there was an outcry from one of his teammates.

"Oh, this is ****ing rediculous!!!! Martian invasion? Batman leading La Resictance?!?! The coming of kal El?!?!?!?!?! This is BULL****!!!!!! I was never trained to handal any big, interdimensional hicups!!!"

Our hero walks over to Huntress.

"Awwww, Huntie, don't quit. You haven't even tried my chili yet. I was going to have a chili con carnival."

Huntress pointed her crossbow in the lord of laughs' face.

"Get the **** away from me!!!!"

    "......okay."

"So then. Huntress. You wish to leave us?"

"No. I love this place, I love you guys, and I think your the best friends I've ever had. Let's have a sleep over and talk about boys and paint our toe nails. OF COURSE I WANT OUT OF HERE YOU DUMB ****!!!!!!"

    "Very well."

Then, the pissed off protagonist disapeared in a flash of light.

"Does anyone else wish to say something before we begin?"

Kara reached the room, to find all the other already there. She opens her mouth to speak but is cyut off.

"The fate of a world, and in turn all wolrds, hangs in the balance. In one universe, spacial plane 5617, one event will decide the course of events that will lead to that worlds destruction. She ignores the cowboy and the clown, but mentally nods at Savitar’s question.

“Wait. You mean That Kal-El is just a child in this Universe and we have to make sure he get’s to right family?”
    Kara asked.

Her mind was spinning, and she put her hand over her stomach. She knew she should insist on going home, she was pregnant. Did this man even know?
Kal-El..he was her cousin…her family. It didn’t matter what universe it was.

"Yes, that is exactly what I mean. Now, step into the portal behind you."

Kara clenched her fist, lifting slightly into the air so her feet were just a few inches off of it.
    Her eyes glowed red slightly.
She wasn't an Amazon, but she'd been trained and raised by them. Their pride had become her pride, and right now it was rising. The urge to reach out and squeeze his neck toyed in her mind.
How could he dare to speak to her like she was a little child.

Kara glared at him, slowly she unclenched her fists. But remained in the air, towering over him even though she was just a few inches off the ground. Her eyes practically sparking.

She could feel anger course though her. Or was it hormones. They had told her on Paradise Island that she'd be hormonal and defensive, it was just a side effect of pregnancy. But still, she held onto it, not wanting to let it go. It forced all of her feelings of fear away.

"You have no right to pull us out of our time. You have no right to speak to me that way."She spoke.

Before turning and flying towards the portal. Stopping just in front of it she said,
"I do this for my cousin. Not for you. This mission and this misson only." before flying through the portal.

You wanna know what he does? Your mom, that's what. But, for reals, he jumps in after the Clownwhite Kid, but it kinda looked like Don wanted to tackle him.

The world was desolate. Technology had boomed when the Martians took over, but it didn't help at all. The human free will was gone. Martian Enforcers were everywhere. They took everything that meant something to me. They took away my life. It would have been better if they took MY life. Without my parents, I was nothing. But I made myself something. I trained under the leaders of the Resistance.

Zatara, before he was set fire, taught me how to escape. Henri Ducard, before he materialized inside Dr. Mid-nite, taught me detective skills. The African bushmen, taught me their ways, before they lost what made them so unique: their culture.

And as I see the Enforcers scour every nook and cranny of the new red planet, i see no hope. I might as well give up.

    There is no hope.

Kara stopped. The wormhole had popped out of the wormhole onto a desolate planet. ‘Popped,’ being almost literal, it took Kara a few seconds to catch her bearings. She glanced around ‘desolate’ wasn’t the right word chewed up and spit out was.
Buildings lay in ruins, smoke rose in the distance and dirt seemed to cover everything.
She landed next to her ‘teammates.’

“Okay, there’s supposed to be resistance. Let’s go find it.” She said

    "Race ya!"

Our hero bounces off into the city. After a few moments, he finds himself upon a sign. In a shock, only three words are able to escape his lips.

    "JESUS BUT-****ING CHRIST!!!!"

....butt-****ing is one word. It's a compound word.

He calls his allies over to his find.

    "GUYS!"

He stands before a large road sign. It reads 'You are now entering Gotham City'. On the side, in spray paint, is written 'abandon all hope ye who enter here'.
