The Multiversers: Hypertime

"Superman? This being, is he like you?"

Kara glared at the spot Don had been in. SHe knew he heard her but she would have liked an aknowledgement.

She turned her attention back to Batman.

"He has all the same powers I do, yes. We're from a now destroyed planet know as Krypton. He won't have these powers when he arrives. He'll be just a baby. It's important that he get's taken the the Kents in Kansas to be raised and is NOT captured by the Martians."

"Yeah. From what I saw when a version of Superman was in my world, he's pretty much a Martian, but without the shapeshifting or psychic powers, and no weakness to fire."

The Jester turns to the rest of the rebels.

"Oh, and in case you guys are so completely stupid that you haven't guessed by now, we're all from other universes."

"Yes, of course. What do you need?"

Suddenly, they were out in Antarctica so they couold talk privately.

"You heard Superwoman.. we're from different Earths. I... On another earth, the one I'm from... Wally West was my father. I... killed him. I swear, I didn't know! He told me before he died. And a man doesn't lie on his deathbed. If it makes you feel any better, I cried for him. I cried a lot. I stayed out there, and I prayed, for three days.

He murdered Marshall Barry Allen, the man I thought was my father, until...

For what it's worth, I'm your son. I'm sorry."

Don fell to his knees. He killed his own father. Kid's got some dady issues.-

Bruce Wayne laughed. he walked and opened the door heading out to the main hall of rebels.

"A baby? Then what importance could a baby be?"

Bruce turned and looked off the balcony at his followers below him.

"Kansas?"

His followers laugh.

"There hasn't been a Kansas for 50 years. So good luck on finidng this Dent family of yours."

Kara clenched her fists, her hormones raging.

"What importance is a baby?" She hissed through her teeth. She didn't have time to play games, and the feelings that her Batman gave her so often before his death boiled to the surface. He'd never understood Diana and not even Clark.

She became a blue blur in a second and had grabbed Bruce by the neck flying up a few feet off the ground. Her eyes burning red and her cape flowing behind her as it de-accelerated.

She turned her head and burned a shallow trench in the ground in front of his followers.

"You've had multiple broken arms and legs and your body is adorned with multiple scars." She said her voice low.
"This..baby could save your pitiful lives. I suggest that if you don't wish to help us you at least abstain from the patronizing tone of voice you love Bruce Wayne." She tightend her grip slightly before dropping him to the ground.

Realization flashed in her mind at what she'd just done. She'd abused her power... a sickly sweet feeling churned in her stomach. But she fought it down, keeping her chin high and her feet off the ground.

Wally looked at him, through his mask. He looked at the kneeling boy. He pulled of his mask. Underneath was the face of a 38 year old Wally West, sporting a crewcut and moustache. He knelt beside Don.

"For what it's worth, I love you, son."

Wally, with tears down his face, hugged his son , who he had thought he had lost years ago.

"Get out. I have led my people against the Martians for years. I don't need to take this from the likes of you newcomers. Go out and experience the Martians for yourself."

Bruce opened the front door.

"For what it's worth, I hope you find what you're looking for."

Bruce spat blood on the floor.

"Now get the Hell out of my cave."

Our reclusive renoir of radiation begins to walk to the door.

"Jeez. No matter what universe we go to, he's STILL the grumpyest person to walk the face of the Earth."

As he reaches the door, our titanic teetoler of testicular cancer leans in close to Bruce Wayn to deliver the most urgent of observations.

"By the way, she SO owned you right there."

"Get out. I have led my people against the Martians for years. I don't need to take this from the likes of you newcomers. Go out and experience the Martians for yourself."

"We are far more experienced than you think Bruce Wayne." KAra said bittingly trying to keep the sick feeling down.
Memories of the Martians in her own universe made her stomach turn.

"For what it's worth, I hope you find what you're looking for."

"Now get the Hell out of my cave."

She turned and flew out, not waiting for her team mates, she was half way out of the tunnels when she felt the urge to punch a hole in the wall.
She did. Keeping her strength to a minimum she planted a few punches into the concrete walls. They posed no threat to the startegic quality of the place however they should serve as a reminder of true power.

Reaching the end of the sewer she blasted out into the air. She flew a little distance before landing on her knees and threw-up. The heaves shook her frame and tears came to her eyes. She knelt there her hands grabbing the ground as it gave way to her powers.

The fool. The fool.

Was she really so angry at him? or was it just her? Was she just angry at this whole set up?
Her heaves stopped and she tore a piece of cloth from her cape, wiped her mouth off and buried the clothe.

She imagined her husbands arms around her and closed her eyes. Bringing her hand up to wipe away her tears.
Standing up she dusted herself off and flew back to the sewer opening. Trying to piece out her next move. She doubted Savitar would be happy with her conduct and there was still the matter of finding Don.

Our hero bounces along the sewer.

"That lousy rat! Why I oughtta.... I'll pulverive 'im! I'll moidalate 'im!"

He reaches the sewer opening and sees Superwoman.

"I have a question. Does every guy with the last name Wayne in the multiverse have to be an anti social prick?"

Kara laughed, a happy, pure laugh.
The clowns comment, which really wasn't that funny, somehow released all the tension she had.

She stopped herself and landed next to him.

"Well, I suppose we are on our own." She said looking around.

"Yes, it appears to be so", said Savitar as he shook his head.
They had met with an underground resistance group on this ruined planet, but their meeting did not go over too well. A few snide comments from both sides and Savitar and his teammates found themselves back on their own again. And to compound things, the Flash of this world ran off with the boy called Don.
Things were definitely not looking too well.

"Well, the clown did have a point. Bruce Wayne, in any reality, is an *******", said his Conscience to try and lighten his mood.

Savitar chuckled, "Yes, it is a comfort to know that wherever you go in this multiverse, Bruce will always be an 'anti-social prick'."

Savitar turned to the others, "Before we plan our next course of action, I suggest we find out where this world's Flash took the cowboy and find a temporary base of operations for us to use while we are stuck on this world."

Kara nodded

"As adverse as I am to splitting up you could go one way and I the other. I'd be more than willing to carry the Jester." SHe suggested not really wanting to think at the moment.

The Martians would catch sight of them anyway they figured it. Why did he feel the need to run off?
She pursed her lips. When she got her hands on him...

BWOOP BWOOP

A deafening siren peirced the sky as a huge Martian spacecraft floated there way from the direction of the horizon...

"We should get back. They might need us..."

Don wasn't acting like himself. He was... worrying about other people. Strange, innit?

"Maybe... son," Wally replied.

"Can you run?"

The Harlequin Hero of Hapinstance notices a large space craft on the horizon. His eyes widen in shock.

"Uhhhh, guys?"

He points to the ship. It is monsterous in size. Like, you ever see Independance day? Like that.

"Are we boned?"

rigel7soldiers said:
"Yeah. Just don't know which way to go. I'll have to follow you... Pa."

Wally smiled. This was the son he never had. He was a father again.

"Sure... if you can keep up."

With that, Wally ran towards America...

"Can birds fly?... That means 'yes.'"

With that, he followed. This was turning out okay after all. Don was beginning to rethink his initial "eternal torment" theory.

"Are we boned?"

"Get DOWN!" Kara hissed.

She knew that wouldn't make much difference but it kept them out of view and made her feel strangely safe.
She ducked behind a dirt pile her back against it. Twisting her head she could see the ship just behind her and over her head.
Her mind raced.

"Okay, one person can fly, me; two with speed Savitar and Don; One with....." Kara glanced over at the clown.
"What exactly do you do?"

Our hero took out a large, comically painted stick of dynamite.

"I make things go boom."

"I make things go boom."

"Great.."

"Look, we get out of here and fight another day. Or we can try to fight them now." She glanced at Savitar.

"My experience with the Martians from my world is minor, but I know that each is a powerful foe that should not be underestimated."

Savitar continued, "And, logic would dictate that a craft that size must house at least a hundred Martians. If we fight, we'd be dead in less than a minute. Hiding from them and reconnaissance would still be our best course of action. Besides, our goal lies in Kansas, not Gotham."

Savitar produced three small devices and he quickly gave one to Kryptonian and the clown.
"These are telepathic blockers that I...borrowed from the Bat while we were his guests."

Kara nodded she didn't really need the advice, however to make it not look like she was seizing control it was important to include the others. She smiled to herself mentally thinking Dian for teaching her diplomacy.
She took the blocker and put it on.

"Perfect." She smiled at him, not letting on that she'd heard him swip them.

"Now we just need to find our cowboy bubby." she gritted her teeth.
"And see what happened to Kansas."
