Multiversers Application:
Character You Would Like To Play (list codename along with real name if applicable): Roland Deschain/The Gunslinger.
Powers (be as specific as you can/If you copy/paste this information from another website, link back to it, or it is considered plagiarism and is not allowed): None, though Roland has been trained from birth in a variety of diffrent combat styles, horseback riding, and he knows how to sling a gun or two. He also has extensive surival training and knows a bit of magic.
Character Type (Chosen, Agent, or MRC and, if they are a MRC, are they a Hero or Villain): Chosen
Universe History (give a brief description of the comic universe your character hails from/If you copy/paste this information from another website, link back to it, or it is considered plagiarism and is not allowed):
All-World is divided into three regions; In-World, Mid-World, and End-World. The geography is widely varied. It includes deserts, mountains, rolling plains and vast wastelands. All-World is said to have "moved on." This seems to mean that where there was once great order there is now little if any. For example: the sun does not always rise in the correct place, and at times it will not even cross the sky in an entire day; the compass directions themselves are at drift, what is East today, could be Southeast next week, and next year may be full-on South. According to Blaine the Mono, a talking monorail that functioned throughout Mid-World, his "Slo-Trans" engines were supposed to last for millions of years, but were already faltering after a few thousand. However, since time appears to run at different rates all throughout All-World, and given Blaine's dementia, this assessment may not be dependable.
It seems that an extremely advanced civilization once existed in All-World, a parallel United States, known as the Imperium. This can be inferred from the high degree of similarity between Old Ones(the name for these ancient people) architecture, automobiles, clothing and the fact that an Old Ones military outpost used an everyday phone modem and Microsoft products. They might have spoken English.
The civilization of the Old Ones is inferred to have collapsed because of the replacement of magic, which could last forever, with technology, which would disintegrate if left unattended, but which nevertheless was allowed to be responsible for maintaining the Beams of the Dark Tower.
The Beams are six invisible forces connecting the edge of the world/universe to the center. These Beams are the primary sources of force in All-World and they maintain order. Failure of the Beams causes changes in physical and astronomical constants, which causes chaos in nature, as well as in civilization. There were six Beams with twelve Guardians, one for each "Portal" (the end of a Beam) arranged like the spokes of a wheel with The Tower at the center.
The Old One civilization used technology to maintain the Beams of the Dark Tower instead of magic, and sought to literally control reality. The final blow for the Old One civilization seems to have been nuclear war, biological warfare, chemical warfare, and something "else" that is hinted to be more horrible/powerful than those three, but it is suggested in the Gunslinger born that it was the final attempt to destroy the Dark tower its self and rebuild something in their own image as the nexus of space and time. It is not known when such wars took place (but long ago enough that it is in the ancient past, and that the gene lines are finally starting to breed true, or "threaded"), why they took place, or even between which nations or organizations such wars were fought. It is widely hinted the Crimson King was ultimately working behind the scenes, manipulating people and events to bring about civilization's destruction, since such destruction serves his ultimate ends.
The All-World of most of the Dark Tower series is sparsely populated and dangerous, filled with mutants both human and animal, and vast swaths of land are irradiated. Demons and robots are to be found, as well as Taheen, who are in the employ of the Crimson King. Governments do not extend beyond the town/local level. Resources are scarce, and relics of the Old Ones' technology exist mainly in perverted, deranged, or damaged forms that threaten instead of helping the last remnants of civilization

Character History (give as detailed a rundown on your character's history and origin as possible/If you copy/paste this information from another website, link back to it, or it is considered plagiarism and is not allowed):
Roland becomes a gunslinger at the unheard-of age of 14 after being manipulated into taking the "trial of manhood" by Marten Broadcloak, his father's adviser and incarnation of Randall Flagg. Marten has an affair with Roland's mother and makes sure Roland finds out about it, prompting Roland to request his trial in order to gain his guns and exact revenge on Marten. In the trial, Roland must defeat his teacher, Cort, using a weapon of his choosing. He chooses a hawk named David and defeats Cort. Despite Roland's victory, Cort and Roland's father convince Roland to bide his time before seeking retribution.
Not long after, Roland's father sends him on a mission to the town of Hambry in the Outer Barony of Mejis with his friends Alain Johns and Cuthbert Allgood, who will form the basis for his first ka-tet. While there, he comes into the possession of a pink crystal ball, one of 13 magical artifacts referred to as "Maerlyn's Rainbow." It was while looking into this artifact that Roland first discovered his destiny to quest for the Dark Tower. Roland is a 30th-generation descendant of his world's version of King Arthur, Arthur Eld.

Sample Post (write a sample post as your character that is at least 4 medium-sized paragraphs long and contains at least 1 line of dialogue in the style you plan on playing your character in):
The Gunslinger fell out of the saloon's batwing doors, barley avoiding the knife that was aimed for his heart.
"Interloper!"
The piano player tried to leap on him. The Gunslinger responded with hands that had been trained to kill from birth.
BLAM!
His hands were faster than lightning, as he pulled out one of the big guns with the sandalwood grips, they claimed the guns were forged from Arthur Eld's ancient sword, it was also Roland's birthright.
The bullet entered the piano player's head and pushed his brains and skull out the back. What was left of his brains splattered inside the saloon. But it was too late, the trap had been sprung as the whole town of Tull came to life.
"INTERLOPER!!!"
"KILL THE INTERLOPER!"
Every man, woman and child in the small town of Tull had descended upon him. They were about 120 strong and armed with sticks, rocks, and gardening equipment. They didn't have a chance.
The Gunslinger quickly sprung to his feet, removing the other big gun and aiming at the mob. The word's of his teacher, Cort ringing in his ears.
You do not aim with your hand. He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. You aim with your eye.
His hands were like blurs, as he fired round after round into the people of Tull, slowly moving back as they stepped over the mounting bodies infront of him.
You do not shoot iwth your hand. He who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. You shoot with your mind.
Face after dirty face came to the front, only to meet their demise at his hands. His finger tips were sorched with the hot bullet shells he was quickly emptying and reloading.
You do not kill with your gun. He who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father. You kill with your heart.
And just like that, silence. The whole town of Hull laid infront of him. Each and everyone as dead as the ground they laid on. Every man, woman, and child dead. They had moved on to the clearing at the end of the path. Gone, just like his father, his mother, his friends Alain and Cuthbert. Gone like his only love Susan, and the baby that was in her belly as she was burned alive at the stake.
He breathed heavily as he holstered his guns. They were truly gone, his world had moved on and only he remained. The last Gunslinger.
