I think everything after episode 6 changes.......with Gordon refusal to kill penguin on the orders of Falcone controlling the mayor and likely the police force. He will start to become his journey to rise up the ranks and fight corruption in the city...

Perhaps producer have no plan in seeing a young batman fighting Falcone and Maloni as they likely in jail or dead.

The Balloonman remained steady here in the UK at 1.4 million viewers. A big relief for Channel 5, suggesting that most of the pilots audience are willing to stick around for the ride.

That's very good news 1.4m UK viewers! I just hope FOX in the US doesn't drop 2nd or 3rd season.

Bullock is pissed because Gordon's actions have put crosshairs on both of them.

Very interested see the star arc over the next 15 plus eps.

Bullock's confirmed as my favourite character after last night. In the comics, was Bullock seen to do good as well?

I always recall him being untrustworthy in the animated series.

actually in the comic I think he was a bit of both. In the Animated Series he was a good copy but he was a real jerk and really did not like Batman but even still he would work with Batman in pinch.

Also this show is beyond awesome. With each episode I find myself like the show more and more. Also I'm waiting for Gordon to snap and say enough is enough and start pushing back. Right now he seems like a deer caught in head lights.

Holy crap. How did they get Dan Hedaya to appear? Guy is a legend.

I was staring at him the whole time but thought he was just a lookalike. Loved the flashback.

True...though I can't say the same for Sal Maroni and Falcone, who are normally still around and young enough to react when Batman shows up.

I just hope that they don't introduce the Joker. Seriously, the Joker and Ra's Al Ghul should be the two villains that are off limits, until Bruce becomes of age on the show, and even then...they shouldn't be introduced as villains until after Bruce becomes Batman, which would be at the very end of the series.

Ra's, being significantly older than Bruce, could plausibly appear on the show. The Joker should be off limits, though it would be interesting to see the "original" Red Hood.

Not usually the type to really complain about shows on the internet, but i've got a couple of really niggly problems with Gotham. I'm insanely enjoying the show, but there's two things that dampen my fun...

The Montoya/Barbara crap is irritaingly annoying... No offence to the actress... But when does Montoya die?

Also a little tired (already) with the fifty thousand riddler clues in each episode.... Okay! We get it... That's the riddler... Now move on with the storylines!

There was a moment when Montoya's partner snapped me out of it with his horrible acting too. Right before they spoke to the Binocular Bum.

Barbara's acting leaves a lot to be desired too but I'm trying to ignore it.

How does Bullock recover from his outburst and what amounts to a confession of covering up what he thought was a murder? Gordon is going to have to lie to get him out of it. Say they were planning this all along and it was to keep Oswald safe. And I guess everyone just "forgets" his reaction.

Both the GPD and MCU are going to come put looking bad in this. It would be in both their best interests to just drop the thing, I think.

Yep I agree and I understand Montoya/Barbara had history but do they need to go in to it more?

I found young Penguin, Falcone/Maroni family and Nygma interesting. Gordon/Bullock relationship is great and I like the actors they have chosen especially Bullock that's the live-action version I wanted to see in Nolan films.

I like the guy plays Alfred I think he's just underrated he could up there with Gough & Caine.

This Alfred is so different, but he's obviously torn by what Thomas Wayne instructed him to do, and by a multi-billionaire emotionally troubled 12 year old boy.

Last episode when Bruce told him "That's an order" obviously showed there's a different dynamic going on here.

This episode when Bruce said "There's no one to take me from" I wanted to cry for both of them.

I'm sure Bruce will arrange his own education (in whatever form), but I would like to know who's managing Bruce's fortune. It's pretty clear it's not Alfred, but it seems Bruce is pretty damned sure he can get what he wants.

I like what they have done with Bruce Wayne so far. You can see the wheels in his head turning.

I think this is an amazing show. I swore I wouldn't watch it cause it was on Fox and fear it will get canceled after two seasons. I couldn't help myself so I watch first two episodes and now I'm hooked. Damn you Fox if you cancel this show. If they do I will never watch a Fox show again.

I was kind of hoping the villain would go for Bruce just so I could see Alfred go all 007 on him. He's like the toughest looking guy on the show.

Montoya has the unfortunate fate of being defined in her show characterization largely by her sexual orientation, which contrasts severly with her portrayal in the comics. I'm a mostly conservative guy, but if I can pinpoint that they're messing up their writing of a gay character by tying it so intrinsically to her mission in the show so far, something's wrong with writing her. Heck, I don't think she's passed the Bechdel test yet, because Gordon has been tied heavily to every single one of her conversations with Barbara. It's hard to see her as Detective Montoya, the honest cop and badass investigator, because they're hitting us so hard with the jealous ex angle.

And yeah, I want to see Alfred just mess some poor fool up. Maybe Bruce can find out his parents ticked off Moxin like in the comics, and regardless of whether there was a plan to kill the Waynes, Moxin sends killers to the manor and Pertwee gets to rock out to some Zach Hemsey music as he Equalizes their butts.

We should see Selina and Bruce meet soon, which should finally put some weight behind their scenes. So far, they've mostly been present by contractual obligation, but if Bruce is investigating with Selina's help/learning what life's like from the other side of the tracks, we won't be wasting time, comparatively speaking.

I'd actually be okay with that. I think the show needs to forge its own path and I think being beholden to the timeline of the comics and the films would ultimately hamstring the writers of the series. I hope they do sort of do their own thing which would solve the " You're moving too soon" complaints towards the series plots.

I was kind of hoping Bruce would go 007 on the murder's ass. But I would've accepted Alfred as well.

Now that Montoya knows Jim isn't guilty that particular storyline will have to be dropped. I'm curious to see what they do with her character now.

There's still the fact that Gordon covered up that he was alive , to show Falcone he was "With the Program" as Harvey put it.
"The Program" being exactly what Montoya and Allen are trying to bust up.
So while I'd like to see Montoya and Allen back off, and find they have an ally in Gordon. The played as antagonists plot is probably going to drag on.
Which has made them pretty unlikable.

The antagonism between Montoya & Gordon is ridiculous for anyone who knows the name Jim Gordon, most of the world knows he's a good guy.

Montoya is such a great character (albeit mostly unknown) and it's sad for me to see her reacting from... Jealousy? Fear? Ambition?

I don't know because the show has not made it clear. People keep treading on the lesbian thing, but after the last episode it does seem to me Montoya thinks she'll get killed after Gordon & Bullock do, and doesn't care.

I like the actress, but the writers need to do a much better job for her.

:funny:
The only one that really stood out as a little much to me was the question mark on his coffee cup.
Other than that,I haven't really been bothered by it.
