I like that look but I can understand if not everyone does. Look aside though I find Feige's logic a bit difficult to follow! :woot:

In TIH he looked like his blood pressure must be so high that if you were able to prick him with a little pin he'd explode like a bloody water ballon.

His muscles won't be quite as cut. We figure he's been the Hulk now for a few years and [his physique is changing].

Has Hulk been eating pizza & sitting on his ass since TIH?

Yup. Hulks been eating to much carbs and sitting around in the cabin.

He stayed all cut up when he was being chased all the time. :woot:

That will count for alot, actually. It's that he's so much bigger, not just taller. A 7.5ft Hulk would suit me just fine. But I do think he should be short enough to fully be able to stand up in any room that any of the other characters are in(as I understand it, standard ceilings are around 8ft high on average) without his head going through the ceiling.

I wouldn't complain if we got a 7.5 ft Hulk. Even though there would be basketball players as tall or taller. I just think Hulk should be around or slightly taller than the tallest known human.

I agree though that his sheer bulk would be intimidating regardless of his height.

The tallest known human is like 9-10ft in height, I think.

I was happy with Hulk's height in TIH, hope they keep it the same.

I don't really get the 'cut' and 'ripped' comments. Why would he be less cut because he's been the Hulk for a couple of years? His physique shouldn't change that much. I've said it before but I'll say it again - the Hulk has huge muscle mass and little body fat, so in human terms the closest comparison we can make is to a really ripped bodybuilder; assuming they didn't need to train (like the Hulk) why would they suddenly start loosing that lean and ripped look?

The only explanation they could really go with - and this is really a stretch of the imagination - is if Banner now has control of himself when he changes into the Hulk. And thus the change is not quite as extreme as it was when he had no control at all. That may explain why he's not quite as tall either.

I assume they're making him smaller in height so it's a bit easier to incorporate the CGi into the film when he's sharing the screen with the other Avengers.

why would they suddenly start loosing that lean and ripped look?

Maybe because he's not supposed to be "lean," he's supposed to be a hulk.

edit: Hopefully he's been working on his leaping skills the last couple years.

I hope the Hulk still looks tall, lean and rip like he did in TIH. Also I hope Hulk is the tallest when they have the team group shot similar to Avengers:EMH

He was just trying to justify the change there is no actual reason other then they wanted a different and if u ask me a better look. its no different than if u recast a character like they did with his alter ego

But how do you equate a Hulk with not being lean?

He doesn't have much body fat, and an abundance of muscle. Is he meant to look bloated and wobbly like the Ang Lee version? It wouldn't make sense. I felt they finally got his look totally right and realistic in TIH - he's massive, but like a huge bodybuilder he also looks pumped and ripped.

Tallest of group fine but look at how long those arms are. Hulk needs to be a max of 8ft. Any bigger and he's Giant-man.

Lets put him on the P90X. He still has time!

Exactly "Hulk", not "Blob"! :woot::woot:

Like the idea of making him a little bit smaller over-all. TIH's size was a major improvement over the 2003 movie but I still thought he was a foot or so too tall. Dialing back on the ripped look is also good. He tended to look like a big green Bruce Lee in TIH. Basically I like how he looks in that picture. If that is acurate and he's maybe 7ft tall or so then this gets a  from me.

The thing they got most right with his look in TIH was his skin color, so I hope that stays the same.
I agree.

But the Hulk is six guys wider. No BB player is that big. If you make Hulk too big it becomes about his height (Giant-Man) & not his strength. Just look at the last two movies a 15' Hulk was like King Kong & In TIH they had to make the Abombination even bigger to emphasize more strength. Hulk needs to interact with the Avengers he needs to fit inside buildings. The Hulk was never a giant creature. Since Ang Lee's movie the Artists have gone wild to compete with that failed version.

tim roth is 5'7". chris hemsworth is 6'3" so the size should be really good.

Basically he's a big guy, he should be able to fit through a door frame by scrunching down some. The Thing is WIDE though, and he kinda has to awkwardly sidle sometimes getting into places.

Going back to TIH, the part that I really liked seeing was in the cave when he bangs his head on the top of it and just puts one of his hands on his waist while holding his head, just real annoyed by what he did. Keep that part of his persona there, only with more talky talky.

I still feel the Hulk is too big here and thats a 9ft Hulk with bent head. I would prefer a 7ft Hulk. & 7 footers still tower over most people. & would be Breast level. How do those pants fit?

I'm against the whole "let's keep making Hulk smaller and smaller" mindset. We're gonna end up with Lou Ferrigno again if this keeps up (6'6").

For me, the bigger the better.

Don't worry they will never go below 7ft. Ang Lee went overboard and they have been back tracking ever since. That's what happens when you let a director who's clueless run wild.

I liked Ang's movie. It wasn't the ideal Hulk movie but it took a daring approach to the character.

I also liked the CGI used for the film alot more than I did that from Leterrier's.

Hulk looked truly real in the daytime exteriors

In TIH, I never bought his daytime look. Looked good at night though.

I still think 7ft is too short for Hulk, I like TIH's 9ft but would be ok if they went down to 8ft, just so he's that little bit more than a human.

IMO 'Hulk' had the better daytime CG and TIH had the better night time CG. I still stand by that imo TIH's best CG out did the best 'Hulk' CG even if it wasn't as consistant.

I kinda agree, however, I think the best stuff in Ang's film easily outclassed the best of TIH.

I don't think there's anything in TIH that looks better, and more realistic than this scene right here:

hulk5.jpg

The range of emotions on Hulk's face as he goes from rage at another perceived threat to shame as he realizes it's Betty who's coming to see what he's done, it was splendid. The water reflection in his hair, the lighting, everything was extremely well done here. The main problem is that it was erratically inconsistent whereas I feel TIH, while not as "real" looking, was more consistent overall. They better get it right this time...

Ang Lee went overboard, that´s a given, but his logic was realistic, the bigger your are, the stronger you are, so, if Hulk gets stronger as he gets madder, he needs to grow.
I don't like it, it doesn' t make sense for the character, but there was a logic behind it.

But clueless...hardly.
Ang Lee got what no director so far got about the character they are making a movie about, it´s heart and soul.

Hulk IS the physical manifestion of Banner´s repressed feelings
Banner´s father is not just important but essential as his the one that "created" the Hulk, the gamma bomb just released it.

There is a lot wrong about the movie as an adaptation, but Lee got what the Hulk is.

His muscles won't be quite as cut. We figure he's been the Hulk now for a few years and [his physique is changing].
That doesn´t even make sense.....and that scares me :wow:
