The Official TIH Theatrical Trailer Anticipation Thread

What do you want the trailer to show?

  • Will it just show Banner and no Hulk?

  • Will it be a fast paced teaser?

  • Will we see the Hulk's face?

  • Will they show Abomination or both?

  • Will they show a flash scene of the final battle?

  • Will it just be narrated like Batman's?

  • Will they show a quick look at the transformation?

To be honest, 5 years since 2003, I expected an upgrade, not a downgrade.

Well, I woulnd't say that at all.
I will say there are still things about the '03 design that I think I liked better. But there are things about this version that surpass it.

I'm talking about the quality of the CGI more than anything. Both look like the Hulk, but one looks more real than the other.

:up::up:

My God, that was a good trailer. The Hulk looks great, and the CGI is top-notch. I really can't see how anyone can think it's bad (I'm looking at YOU, AICN talkbackers!).

I can't wait for trailer 2 for even more Incredible goodness!

I can't believe i'm saying this, but the ONE thing i admired about Ang's film was that he wasn't afraid to have Hulk stomping around in broad-daylight. In this movie most of the Hulk-outs are at night. This to me says, as with all cgi films, that they are not confident with the cgi, and are using the dark/night to mask it's flaws.

Well seeing as many here think it looks awesome... and showing it to a few general audience members like my girlfriend most seem to think it kicks the **** out of 03 design wise, and is basically on par quality wise.

Therefore if you are truly bent on things looking uber-realistic, got one word for you kid.... "career" go do it, and show us what you're made of.

The college Campus fight will be in daylight

Yet unlike Ang's night fight, this one is in a city with lights bouncing around everywhere, mixed with the flames in the streets.

If anything I think its a more taxing job. I don't think the night Hulk outs were planned for CGI reasons. After all I didn't read all the way through but there is one day time Hulk out I believe.

Why is it that because I don't like it, I shouldn't comment unless I actually have a career in computer animation, but everyone who likes it doesn't have to?

This is the perfect Hulk to me. When I saw he had this weird thing going on with his mouth in the first render I was put off. But now, he's perfect. I grew up with Deodato's Hulk, and I can't think of a single issue on the design or the CGI (though I must admit you can still tell in the blurred shot of the Abomination that he's computer generated).

Folks haven't brought it up, but the design of the Abomination has an exposed spine...one that looks almost like a reptile fin. Me likey.

Granted, it's a teaser trailer and CG is never finished in teasers, but ILM's Hulk from 2003 looks better than this. Subjective opinion but I'm almost certain that when this films arrives, it'll be a fact that ILM's Hulk will be superior.

This film might be more of what the die hards are looking for but to me, it feels a lot like the lesser of the Marvel franchises (Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Blade Trinity, etc....)

Where is my Ang Lee sequel to Hulk?

Ya know what was funny about the '03 film was that Hulk seemed to appear better in those daylight scenes than he did at night.

Okay, let me go over this. You have EVERY right, to dislike, or maybe even hate it if you want. But state reasons at least other than "Not real." as well as maybe put your opinions into a respectful manner rather than

-Looks at everyones comments, sees they're good- "Well I think I'll throw in a downgrade comment just to rile them up."

It's like if I were to go into the Bat-Boards and scream out "New Joker = Downgrade. Nicholsan rules." You think I'd get a good reception? Nope, but I did go in there, say I hated it, gave well thought out reasons, and people just glanced over.

Just saying "it's not real" over and over doesn't really cut it in my eyes.

But perhaps I ask to much.

This is how I'd expect someone to reject a CG design, kudos to you J.Howlett.

And the sequel kind of died when most general audience members hated it, sorry bud. :/

I also like Hulks roar in the trailer. Tt sounds more animalistic, unlike '03 Hulk which sounded like a loud mouthed guy.

What else can I say? The whole point of CGI is to make the impossible look real. If it doesn't look real, they've failed. I wasn't convinced by the Hulk in the trailer, although the Abomination looked good. But what I didn't expect was CGI that doesn't look as good as it did 5 years ago.

I don't do that, because I'm not pathetic. I say what I think. I am allowed to do that right?

I guess that makes them more tolerant than you?

Maybe I asked too much when I expected good CGI...

Woah ho ho! Settle Down Prefix, you act like you want to start a round of fisticuffs. :cwink:

Maybe I should just let you go your merry way as I wouldn't want to ruin a thread with a bit of fighting it will inevitably come down to.

Do as you please.

I find the CGI in Iron Man to be more blatant than what we've seen here, even with practical effects being a major factor in that film. Does that mean I can safely say that I'll like this movie more? No, because I'm not hung up over how far we've come in SFX. The story comes first. Plus, I don't think I need to mention how blatant the CGI in Spider-Man 3 was, even with all that dough to toss around.

The face here was the same issue i had with Hulk '03. The bestial faced Hulk that was shown at Comic-con, would have gone over better. A human looking face on a monstrous body is what's making it look a little cartoony to me.

Both Hulk and Abomination look absolutely incredible but with the edge to Abomination who I think looks more like the creatures from I Am Legend more so then Voldemort from Harry Potter.

Abom's green eyes really give him that 'gamma' feel too.
