Is there some kind of competition at DC to create the worst version of the Amazons? Cause Azzarello is in first and second place.

So not only are they raping men for babies, they sell them into servitude for weapons. But not good weapons(you know God killing kind) just plain ones I guess. So they're stupid too.

I am not happy with what Azzarello has done to the Amazons and I'm hoping this whole issue gets retconned as soon as possible

This is actually worse than what was done to them in Amazons Attack

And Azzarello is normally a good writer which makes it dissapointing to see him write them so badly

The Amazons are not mass murderers nor should they be okay with selling people into slavery

If it was the Bana I would understand but the Amazons of Themyscira were all about peace live and compassion to all

It's cool if you don't think so. I probably wouldn't in a real world situation but in a comicbook I would.

If you can retroactively be convicted of murder for knowingly giving someone an STD, I think "killing someone for their sperm" as an act of violence can be. Just leave. Why kill'em?

I think it produces a fascinating dilemma for wonder woman--being stuck between the obligations to her family and friends, and the obligation to do the right thing.

I've also always been more of a fan of the bleak depressiveness of greek mythology than wonder woman's mythology, so there's that.

I know you think that makes it better, it's not. For someone that saw the Amazons as a people that could use some bit of rationalization to their problems, the idea of stealing someone's kid for slavery when the whole point of the Amazons were that women have been used and mistreated through history (including the iron age), so try to "do better" and "be better" was their mantra.

I don't want them to be perfect but come on. Give me a break. They don't need to steal and murder people.

I don't even understand these Amazons anymore.

Why did they let Trevor off the island yet they kill the guys on the boat for what? Alimony payments?

Or what...was there a tournament or did she just leave cause the murdering Amazons taunted her for not being conceived on a boat?

I dont even know why Diana left the island since it cant be about saving the world from evil and making things peacful anymore. Unless the Amazons have changed their ways since Dianas birth.

Something I don't get

In issue three that redhead Amazon was all 'Diana you can't be with the cool kids no more 'cause Zeus is yo daddy and having a father sucks'

But apparently in this continuity all the Amazons regularly hook up with guys and have kids. So why were they angry with Diana

Is it 'cause her mom didn't taffy a guy on a boat and then murder him to get pregnant. Is any sex other than boat murder sex frowned upon on Themyscira

You pretty much have to accept that the Amazons have been changed since issue 1 to enjoy the series. When I got to that page I was thrown off but in the end...it didn't surprise me because they have chosen to go with the mainstream idea that the Amazons are men-hating women.

I can learn to accept it but it does suck.

I made it clear in a previous page on this thread, before I got on this thread I was with the rest of society thinking that Amazon's were leaning more towards the "men-hating" warrior women. I thought that they were peaceful amongst themselves and civilized amongst themselves but would be ridiculously cruel and vicious to men.

Hence why I can accept this direction easier with it being the first WW series for me. I tried to read a few issues of Simone's run because I liked the design of Achilles but stuff like the gods coming back in Space Jump Suits annoyed me as I want my WW to be more Greek mythology based.
