Just want it all resolved and behind them already. Next thing woulld be to get any characters with distribution issues dealt with.

I honestly don't care how they split up the pie at this point

just get all the marvel properties under one roof, thats all I care about.

Very curious to see if they recast Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, or if they'll "retire" those characters for a bit in favor of the newbies like Spidey, Dr. Strange, Back Panther, and Captain Marvel. It'll be a shame if they get Doom back and we don't get to see him interact with the Big Three, but then they'd have Fantastic Four and X-Men to pick up the slack I suppose.

They need Iron Man vs Dr Doom. They should do a big screen version of Iron Man #150.

Although Doom should be big enough to be his own villain without any help from others, unfortunately the way he's been treated on screen so far, he probably does need a bit of help to re-establish him as a credible threat and a formidable foe. Who better to do that than Iron Man? If he's presented as one of Iron Man's enemies, that will already make him seem better in the eyes of the public.

I don't think we're ever gonna get the OG avengers teaming up with the X-Men and F4 unfortunately

they'll probably be there to pick up the starpower slack like boom said. Can't have everything we want when we want it, but I'm just happy its gonna happen at all.

Ye of little faith.

Disney is spending 71 billion plus cash stock to make this merger happen. Trust and believe they will eventually be making AvX with their OG Avengers and whoever comes in as the X-Men.

That's too much money to be made not to happen. RDJ and Hemsworth and them aren't foolish either.

Well if people are saying people like RDJ are getting too old for the parts, I feel like Marvel can have a stunt double do the action scenes and then they can use the de-aging technology they have been using and are planning to use on Samuel L Jackson in the Captain Marvel movie to extend the life of these characters with the original actors. Granted they may not be de-aging as much, but I think they can control it, whether it be a few years or 30 years. Then it would be a matter of only the actors wanting to continue and working out the pay. Also, I am not saying their individual movies should continue for much longer (although I wouldn't mind one or two more of each of the main three heroes), but mostly I think it would be good if they were a presence on the large team up movies for a long time to come.

At least thats how I see it.

It's going to happen. It has to happen. How could it not? The biggest appeal to many- including me- is that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a cohesive universe- and I have no doubt Feige and co. realize this. I think the James Bond comparison works well.

Honestly, though, whatever happens I just hope they keep it as Earth-199999. Have the X-Men reference the Battle of New York; Have the Fantastic Four reference... whatever event happens with the Skrulls in Captain Marvel? Not too well-versed on the FF. Help me out here, Willie!

Audiences have spent a decade getting invested in these characters and their histories. To just erase it, I think, is a bit of a disrespect to the fans.

Maybe not the OG actors but I expect bigger crossovers down the line with whoever is in the universe at the time. So far they have done everything that many thought would never happen expanding from a regular team up film to a whole-of-MCU film. I think we can expect something IW sized every 10 years or so to cap off the 3 phases in between.

RDJ can easily do lots of in-HUD face scenes, and then have a stunt double doing the action scenes for Iron Man. I bet it's probably done that way a lot anyway. I can't imagine them passing up the chance to have the likes of Iron Man interacting with Reed Richards or Dr Doom.

And Sebastian Stan is just not Steve Rogers, even if he became Cap. It's not the same thing having him opposite someone like Doom.

In the comics, when writers and artists leave, new ones step in. The styles may change a little bit with the different take, but that allows the characters to grow (while maintaining certain key, defining characteristics).

I think a very similar strategy should used in the films. New actors should step in and add their unique take, but the characters should continue.

In some cases, some characters may 'die' or disappear for a while, but generally speaking, I like the idea of matching the comics - basically all characters existing simultaneously for 50, 60, 70 years.

If Stark survives Avengers 4 I expect to see RDJ popping up in cameos at least every few years.

This is what has kept me invested in the comics universes (both Marvel and DC) for so long (a lifetime) and there isn't really anything else like them that has been putting out so much regular new content over so many years. They've now tried this on film and it has very quickly turned into the most successful project ever, and looking very strong for the future.

Comcast probably failed to get an investor to buy the domestic assets I'm guessing

I mean listen, if you can get all the original actors to get on board with it 10 years from now to do one big marvel universe movie, thats great.

Count me in the minority then, I don’t find it imperative that the original actors/characters have to interact with or be part of some huge crossover with the newly, hopefully, acquired characters. I’m also of the mindset that once they’re gone there isn’t a recast. I want recasts to happen once all is said and done and there’s a reboot way down the road.

Outside of RDJ, Samuel L, Chadwick (surprised he's in his early 40s but black don't crack) and Ruffalo, everyone else is relatively young. They can hold out.

They want that AvX movie money too I'm sure.

I hate the idea of a reboot, because I'm so sick of "origin stories".

I love that we've got all of these characters established now, and I just want to see them fight super-villains. I don't want to have to go back and start all over again.

Well a reboot is inevitable to be sure but we’re talking 10-15 years from now. That’s another 20-25 movies from now.

Still, if Comcast wins, maybe we’ll finally see Namor on the silver screen, albeit as an F4 antagonist.

AvX was a garbage story and RDJ is so expensive (either $50 million or $100 million for 18 minutes of screen time in IW, $15 million for 8 minutes in Homecoming) that Disney cautioned in an earnings call that IW isn't that profitable even with a $2 billion gross.
He needs to die. They can recast Tony Stark when they need him.
