Im also of the mindset that once theyre gone there isnt a recast. I want recasts to happen once all is said and done and theres a reboot way down the road.
Throwing away characters when the actor gets arrogant is not a good strategy.

If Stark survives Avengers 4 I expect to see RDJ popping up in cameos at least every few years.

Still, if Comcast wins, maybe well finally see Namor on the silver screen, albeit as an F4 antagonist.
As long as it's in the $2B team up films then they can probably afford a 1 minute cameo. This attitude is the only reason I expect him to die in A4. He'd charge at least $2.75-5.5 million per minute of cameo.
That is probably the case. Comcast is already looking at paying $31B or more for just the 61% stake of Sky. Fox now having received regulatory clearance will have to raise its bid, if it wants to secure that buyout. On top of that, Sky wants to adjust the valuation due to Disney's buyout of Fox, so that the price will likely go even higher. Even bidding for just the International assets is likely to get very expensive.Comcast probably failed to get an investor to buy the domestic assets I'm guessing
I wager Star and Sky are far more valuable than Namor. If Disney wins, they could make a deal with Comcast for Sky and Star that could also send Namor back to Marvel.
AvX was a garbage story and RDJ is so expensive (either $50 million or $100 million for 18 minutes of screen time in IW, $15 million for 8 minutes in Homecoming) that Disney cautioned in an earnings call that IW isn't that profitable even with a $2 billion gross.
He needs to die. They can recast Tony Stark when they need him.
Possibly because the spend on shooting both movies would be accounted for this year as cost of that movie.

So maybe it would just be better for Disney to allow Comcast to have Fox? The price keeps going up and it's going to be very expensive for them to pay for both. And since Sky is not a branch of Fox - wouldn't Disney be allowed to communicate with them over the SKY deal? That is probably the case. If Disney can't split assets because of contractual legal obligations with Fox, why can't Disney and Fox come to a new agreement where Disney doesn't have to buy Sky? Why does it have to be all one buyer?
For other things in life, you might not sell all to one buyer but sell off some assets to someone else.

And does anybody know when the Sun Valley thing is actually happening? We need to start marking down our calendars
Thanks guys. Hard to believe that in 3 weeks we may have our dream fulfilled. Although am I greedy enough to still think about Namor?
Yes, I am.
If we get Namor back, I hope he has least a scene of him in his classic green Speedos and ankle wings.
And he needs to tussle with the likes of the Avengers, Hulk, Human Torch and Fantastic Four. I hope there's plenty of misunderstanding and hostility before he becomes more of an anti hero.

Of course. There would be a huge amount of money involved. But as long as theyre dealing, Comcast could throw in Hulk, Namor and theme park rights to help bring Disney to the table and lessen how much theyd have to spend.
Id rather Comcast keep the theme park rights. Their marvel land is one of the best themed lands in a theme park. Id hate to see it go, especially the Hulk and Spider-Man rides.

Id like to see Disney create an entire Marvel theme park. I dont know if that would happen under any circumstances, but it would be more likely if Marvel had the rights.
I wasnt particularly impressed with the Islands of Adventure Marvel area when I was there, and Universal is probably both unwilling and unable to build it into anything special now.
