How much power will the Murdoch family's shares give them over Disney, anyway?

Enough to take control of everything. All part of the plan.

So I guess this is over. Can we go back to Jan 2018 level hype :woot:

and now major Fox shareholders are indicating they are voting for the deal, and recommends others follow suit.

It is only going to be a just the wait for it to actually take place at this point. Overall, we can all get to just thinking about how the characters will be integrated. Either way it's all happening. :)

Can anyone else swoop in at the last minute and put in a better bid than Disney and is not a content distributor so is able to get DOJ approval?

Yellow suit wolverine coming?

I wish. But I don't want to set my hopes too high. IMHO always one of the best and most iconic looks in comics. I don't get why filmmakers tend not to agree.

As I’ve stated before, I hope they don’t use Wolverine right away, especially right after an iconic portrayal of him.

I kinda hope they go for a two-tone brown version myself.

Kinda like my avatar of me wearing Wolverine costume for a poster that was made by these folks I knew, I have the design of the yellow/blue, but the two-tone brown colors.

That line is part of why X-Men: First Class is the best superhero film. It's structured as a Greek tragedy where Xavier's flaw is that his life was too easy for him to understand others (despite being a telepath - dramatic irony). Nearly every scene leads to that tight climax on the beach where he accidentally ruins his relationship with Erik.

Cant wait for all the exciting news we are gonna get later this year.

Anything is possible, in theory, but it’s so unlikely it’s not worth worrying about.

If anyone ( including Comcast ) was seriously considering making a 90 plus billion bid, they should have said something before Fox scheduled their meeting and sent ballots out.

And no rational companies would pay 90 plus billion for a company that nearly sold for 52 billion.

Is that you?! I always thought that was a cool image, but didn’t know the origin.

Cool!

The idea of the Fantastic Four finally coming home is giving me shivers.

And the idea of a more comic accurate X-Men.....

The next few years of MCU announcements is going to be so fun.

And looking at all these images helps illustrate how fresh and new a Marvel Wolverine could feel. While it’s been frustrating watching Fox, time after time again, shy away from giving us real comic book characters, at least now a faithful Doom, Wolverine, Thing etc. will still feel like things we’ve never seen.

I'm ready for a comics-accurate Wolverine, from casting a short muscular Canadian actor for the role to that iconic yellow spandex costume. In other words, we don't need MCU to carbon copy Hugh Jackman's performance because while his version is legendary, it's not what the Wolverine fans like us have been waiting to see ever since X-Men debuts on the big screen 20 years ago.

He doesn't have to be canadian. This whole attachment to such tirvial details really baffle me. You will never get a 100% version of the characters you have been reading. Even the MCU which respects the material has almost zero character taken straight out of the page.

Feige will take liberties like he did with Spider-man. There have been 11 X-men movies, there is no way they will be able to make a 100% comic-accurate adaptation.

You really need to start preparing to accept some changes...

The actor doesn't have to be from Canada to play a Canadian.
A new Wolverine being shorter and scruffier like the comic version would help separate him more from Jackman's portrayal.
