Am I the only one who finds it a little ironic that a large factor that would determine whether the Marvel characters that Fox owns goes home or not rests on the the fate of Time Warner merger(which owns DC)?

What should happen is, this thread should be pinned to the top of the new Fantastic four forum and it should never be locked.

I second this! Let all newcomers or future generations see what a journey we had to go through.

Here are the pins being offered at SDCC. I LOVE seeing all the X-Men and FF characters featured so prominently :woot:. I don't think this is just an accident. I think this is part of an organized plan to revitalize the characters who have been stuck in Fox hell so they can then bring them from the comics to films and finally have an MCU that features the characters that have defined Marvel for the past 60 years.

I second this. This thread has been my crowning achievement. They were so quick to close the original thread sometime between FFINO releasing the trailer and premiere, that I couldn't wait to "reboot" it once the reviews started pouring in.

 A far more successful reboot than Fant4stic. :funny:

My one question though is, as we've been talking about what would happen if Comcast bought Fox, is that the rights would stay with Fox since they just have a new corporate overlord.

If Disney lands this deal, do the rights still technically stay with Fox?

***** YEAH! A Universe reunited at last.

This is the truth 100%.

I was talking to a couple of friends who have way more shares than me and still haven't cast their vote. We all concur that it will be hard for CMCSA to come up with anything worthy for smart investors.
At least shareholders are getting an additional, ~$19Billion (I think?) over the initial deal. I guess they can be thankful to CMCSA for getting that out of Disney.

With AT&T acting like idiots and doing a 180 on what they said during trial (within 60 days of closing lol) and the DOJ appealing the T/TWX decision then it'll give us a lot of uncertainties for CMCSA bid.
Granted, it wasn't fees of Warner Media products, but it was a direct result of the acquisition and like you said, a complete 180 of what they testified at trial. I am even more agitated by this move of theirs because I was directly affected. They deserve to be hauled back into court on this. The Circuit Court they are going to is stacked with consumer advocacy judges too. Should be fun to watch them squirm.

No. If Disney buys Fox, the contract becomes null because they own both parties to it. There are no legal barriers to prevent them from doing anything.

This. But you can't second it, because I've already seconded it. So you have to third it. :p

I just ask we get a F4 film or introduction to the characters by 2022-2023.

It's pretty awesome that this thread still is, and always has been, quite active.

I haven't been a regular every day but it pleases me to no end that there are people just as, if not way more, passionate about the FF coming back to where they belong and that we're finally getting a happy ending.

They are even selling F4 shirts at Comic-Con!

Dang I'd kill to get my hands on one.

More and more outlets are reporting that Comcast has essentially pulled out of Fox bidding. They do not expect them to put in any further bids. They will focus on the 61% of Sky.

It's effectively over. The vote will go ahead 2 weeks from now unimpeded.

If Comcast gets Fox then the rights most likely stay with them.

If Disney gets Fox: This should answer your question.
