Do you guys think Disney will allow shows like Gifted and Legion to continue on FX or will they move them to the Disney platform, maybe even cancel them outright?

I know Doom, Kitty Pryde, Multiple Man are going down the drain

I'm still waiting for the vote in a week and a half. At that point, I'll call it over, but I still have the tiniest bit of nervousness until then.

I'll be nervous until the moment Fiege (who needs a Marvel style nickname) smiles, and says "The call came gang, give us a few weeks to figure it all out."

It's over. (bidding wise)

Comcast simply will not bid on Fox anymore for 2x reasons.

1) DOJ appeal
2) Bidding on Fox will cause the UK to raise the minimum bid of Sky. Comcast would screw themselves over if they push the price for Fox any higher.

At this stage of the game, I cannot see anyone else trying to get involved. Theoretically they can, but it is extremely unlikely. Go ahead and count the days if you must, but rest assured, this is a done deal.

Fox won't up its bid further for Sky either. Disney is letting Comcast is taking them. This opens the door for further deal making.
Yep, great developments. I don't even mind if Sky ends up at Comcast (better than Fox).

:woot:

There are still a lot of little things to get through, but after the official closing (I'm thinking within a few months), we'll all know Feige has the rights. Then it's just a matter of patiently waiting for the details.

This may be a little too optimistic, but I'm hoping by about this time next year, we have an actual FF film on the schedule (even if it's still 3 or 4 years from that point).

Legion they could still do because it can fit into the MCU, but the Gifted definitely would have to go. They took too many liberties with the X-Men storyline for that to be in the MCU.

I just wish they'd put New Mutants on Netflix already. And just scrap Dark Phoenix completely.

I haven't been paying much attention. Are we supposed to be getting a Dark Phoenix trailer at Comic Con?

... or will they just wait until a week before release? :funny:

I'm of two minds on how Fantastic 4 should be structured, neither of which involves the 1960s.

1: Do the full origin. The rocket is actually plot-relevant because rather than a splashdown, the 4 are abducted just before they'd burn to ash in the atmosphere by a cloaked Skrull ship in Low Earth Orbit. They discover their powers in captivity and the villain is the first Super-Skrull. The President and media lavish them with praise for bringing back an alien spaceship. Doom slams his fist while streaming the news in his castle.

2: Do the origin as a montage being shown by the media. Use Peyton Reed's "Hard Days Night" framing without it having to be the '60s. Villain is the Molecule Man to get Secret Wars set up faster.
I could even pitch a 2a where Doom has his own PR campaign running if it's important to the Studio to start with him again.

And just scrap Dark Phoenix completely.

Dark Phoenix is shot, CGI post paid for, had reshoots, and is back in post. The budget must have been at least $180 million like Apocalypse. No film of that budget has ever not be released to cinemas.
Get over it.

When Deadpool meets MCU Johnny Storm.

Johnny Storm: “Hi, I’m Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch.”

Deadpool “So you’re the Human Torch? Whoa! Wait a minute you’re not Chris Evans or Micheal B. Jordan!”

Ya know, gang... Marvel could do a real cheap, real quick setup.... as early as CM....

Just a scene of a star, orbited by an inhabited world, that begins to darken, then energy flows from it towards us...

Then three words as the star dies as well.

"I..... still..... HUNGER!"

With the deal, we get more...

We get the Torch, all of them... even Toro.... so we get all but one Invader (Namor).

We get Deadpool, who can team up with Squirrel Girl... for a riot movie.

We get all those villians, and a mailman.

Willie, I say we petition Marvel to let you play your namesake in the FF movie!

Yeap. For once we agree. Even if Disney gets Fox before the release of Dark Phoenix they will release it no matter what but I do wonder if the film will get pushed back again considering its being released so close to Captain Marvel which comes out literally the month after Dark Phoenix’s February release date.

Think about: both Captain Marvel & Dark Phoenix are both set in the 90’s and Dark Phoenix is rumored heavily to include Skrulls. Me thinks Disney would want to spread the film out farther away from Captain Marvel’s release date to avoid some brand confusion.

For all we know, if everything becomes official between now and Dark Phoenix's release, maybe easter eggs are added into that movie, if it's a good one, to tie it into an MCU multiverse? I'm still hoping on a Secret Wars movie where the Beyonder pulls heroes from the Multiverse and we get Tom Holland meeting Tobey Maguire and Fassbender opposite Evans.

Wait! Wait! Wait!

After credits scene attached in which Galactus eats the X-Men Earth.:woot:

Nope. If the Disney deal goes through(which is an inevitable) Dark Phoenix is likely the last X-Men film Fox will ever make(not counting New Mutants). Even if it’s good(unlikely given who’s behind the camera and if the rumored plot synopsis is to believed) then I still think Fiege will press the reboot button on the film though if it somehow is a good film(again, unlikely) then Marvel will simply bump the breaks on the X-Men films for a long while in order to let some pass before getting to work on the MCU X-Men.

Edit: You’re joking, d’oh!

I now realize it was a joke... forgive me.

LOL!!

Seriously though, what if they added an after-credits scene of Deadpool waking up and saying: "Wow! That was a weird dream. I've got to tell Cyclops about that one."

And then in a later movie a scene with Deadpool and Cyclops with Deadpool saying: "... Wolverine was over 6 feet tall and you were all wearing these black leather suits. I s*** you not."

:funny:

Yes please.

Unpopular opinion: Dark Phoenix should be released and be marketed as “the epic conclusion of an era!”

Don’t forget there are still fans of this version of the X-Men, it would be disrespectful to them to not at least let them enjoy one last taste of this version of the characters before they are rebooted into the MCU with totally new actors playing them.

I wonder what happens if Feige asks them to cancel it because of Future plans for an MCU Dark Phoenix
