They scrapped Gigantis which had a budget of 100m dollars

I don't see them as equal situations. Gigantis was not a sequel in an already profitable franchise. I posted the data on X-Men's BO unadjusted for inflation elsewhere yesterday. No X-Men film has come close to being a BO disaster. Even if DP would make like 350-400 mil WW, it basically breaks even. That's better than absorbing a $150 mil loss. Plus, I think at worst, it will be forgettable. I don't think it will Fan4stic the series.

OH MY GOD, GUYS! It's official!!!

I’ve waited so long for this day to come

Great news! Finally!

Was Gigantis filmed? Disney will have a completed movie on their hands and 180 million debt they inherited from Fiox. There is no chance in Hel they are not gonna release it.

Right now, Kevin Feige is in Marvel Studios' Vault #XF4, where all the concept art, treatment and drafts for X-Men and Fantastic Four are kept secret, hidden from anyone's eye but Feige's.

This is awesome. I'm just gonna repost this.

Yeah, them playing Doom like they've played Loki would be pretty perfect.

I just hope that, for once, we don't get a Doom origin that is tied to the entire FF's origin. That's always bugged me about the movie adaptations.
What if it's the other way around, Dr Doom origin first, and the presence of Doom triggering the origin of the FF? (like in the Heroes Reborn origin)

I won't get my hopes up too much for this. But if the Hulk situation got settled, and a Hulk sequel could FINALLY happen...that is where I would introduce Wolverine

But I won't get my hopes up on that one until we get something more concrete.

The Incredible Hulk 2 with Wolverine busting out of his AK prison and Red Hulk is the perfect opportunity to introduce Wolverine. 2022/2023. Feige loves paying dues to the comics when possible. This would be a huge one that nerds like us would appreciate. I would really hope it could happen.

I don't want them playing Doom like Loki. He can't just be a bit of a nuisance and a trickster who causes trouble. He needs to be a really credible threat who is a formidable foe for every hero, just as in the comics. He should be the villain of a few people's movies.

Definitely seems that way.

Something definitely happened in ID. Roberts and Iger (and Murdoch?) met. Which also makes me wonder if other Marvel rights that CMCSA owns were discussed.

Yes, very much hope so. Iger is going out in style.

I need this in my life :hmr:

I am okay with Doom being the villain of several different movies for heroes. Absolutely, I am all for this. But, that is still closer to a Loki model than a Thanos model. Thanos wasn't the villain of prior movies before the mega-event. He was a looming threat. Doom is not going to be that, so he cannot be the next "Thanos." That will require someone like Galactus.

Shut up and take my money!!!

Depends on your definition of complete. At this stage, what they would more than likely have is a completed draft. But a completed draft doesn't mean completed script. They will keep tweaking it and make changes. Look at Civil War. Once the Spidey deal was looking likely, he was added in a later draft. Given when the movie will film, adding him wouldn't be hard.

Though it is true, we don't know the story yet. But, I feel like this is something you make room for. Galactus can be the next Thanos for the MCU. I think sowing those seeds now would be wise.

Galactus and Doom need to be set up thats for sure...i hope that while Galactus is a universal threat, Doom is set up as a global threat but that is when the world and the heroes learn Dooms conquest ambitions expand to the cosmos

It will be super interesting to see Doom and Latveria in the modern MCU.

Does Latveria have a stance on the Accords? Do people know about Doom's tyranny, or is it a hidden country like Wakanda? Was Doom at the UN when T'Challa came out to the world?

So many interesting ways to connect to the MCU.

HA!

SNIKT’S COMING HOME, BUB! I am so filled with joy right now I could just.... just..........

JEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!

The way I am HOWLING right now, LMAO.

I swear I heard his voice just like in the cartoon.

And Bob Iger is an omega level mutant, I have no fear with that man at the helm. Bye Comcast.

Hmm, I think its time to celebrate. I'm going to watch the Corman FF, the Story films, then I will at last sit down and watch Fant4stic.

Well I don't want Doom to only be mostly in FF like Loki was mostly in Thor, except for Avengers.

I want him quite independently of others having been told about him to become their villain. So he could tangle with Iron Man, and then separately with Black Panther, Cap, Fantastic Four etc before they have even had the chance to compare notes and realise they've been fighting the same villain.

Let there be multiple different reasons for him to come into conflict with them individually. For example, in Iron Man #149-150, he needed to acquire some Stark technology to boost his time machine, so he got into it with Iron Man. He could also need some vibranium or other Wakandan technology and thereby tussle with the Panther. None of these need to even be related to each other (eg like Thanos collecting a common Macguffin - the infinity stones).

Loki was becoming more and more of an anti-hero by the end. I don't want that to happen to Doom.

Is the Roger Corman F4 worth a watch? I've never sat down to look at it. I did enjoy his Black Scorpion movies.

Sweet Dee Reynolds is now a Disney Princess

What a strange timeline this is
