I'm telling you, until the day comes that damn travesty actually opens worldwide, I'm not losing hope that it might be decapitated and buried.

We need a Keep Hope Alive that Dark Phoenix won't be released thread. :oldrazz:

Is there supposed to be a trailer at Comic-Con?

Isn't it due in something like 6 months?

Is the cast even going to comic con and doing publicity for it?

Maybe Kinberg still might be and he'll be doing it all on his own.

You're in it already :D

Just wait until after July 27th, we can petition the title updated. Heheh

Nah, we still need Hulk and Namor rights, and full Spider-Man rights before the title changes. And it should never change anyway. It should be about collecting all the rights in the world. :o

Is it too early to request a new Fantastic Four sub forum? :woot:

Do it. I was thinking we need one anyway, because we need to talk about individual things for the franchise. We need a casting thread for each character, even if they don't appear in an actual FF film together. They're still probably going to show up elsewhere since they're in the MCU now.

I hope we at least get one after the 27th. And a sub forum for MCU X-Men.

The Phoenix evisceration movie is a more pressing concern atm. That stuff will also get sorted out by this deal, combined with the Sky acquisition. All except Spidey, and he's got a foot in the door already.

If there are Hype awards for the last 10 years, this thread should be nominated for thread of the decade.

It already ought to win a second time for thread of the year, since technically speaking, this is a reboot thread and not the original.

I still can’t even believe Spider-Man went back home(sort of) but this is a bigger deal for the MCU that will change it forever.

July 27th can’t get here soon enough.

What will change post July 27th though? Will it feel any different at all? Will there be an announcement? Isn't it pretty much in the bag right now?

In the beginning, there was Fox's Fantastic Four.

Then there was Pixar's Fantastic Four (The Incredibles).

Now, MCU will finally get the First Family of Marvel back, and under the same umbrella as Pixar too.

It's amazing just to think about it.

It's pretty much in the bag already, but the 27th will basically make it official.

From there it is all paperwork and legal hamsters finalizing things.

I only wish our FFINO friends were here to join us

Like my ol pal DigificWriter. Fought tooth and nail trying to tell us that Marvel would never get to use any of their sold out film properties. Oh if he were only here now.

The astounding thing is that I know it was joked around here sometimes that to solve this problem Disney could buy Fox. Who would have thought they'd actually do it? :woot:

Stan always said it would work out in the end, and that they would get everyone back. I just hope he stays with us just a little while longer to see that come to fruition.

I don't know about cancelled, but I would guess that it isn't that far into productiin that being cancelled is a real probability. Which would be a shame imo. I would say put it on the back burner a bit longer and re-tool it according to how Deadpool may fit into the mcu.

It's not in production at all yet, Goddard hasn't started writing it. Ever since he was announced to write/direct, he's has been busy with Bad Times at the El Royale, which comes out in October. He'll start working on X-Force after that, which probably means it would start filming in late-2019 (assuming Disney still want it).

Yeah, he is only way above Feige. If he gives Feige the properties, he'll accept them. It really is that simple.

They do love ludicrous assertions.

To be fair, Iger probably hadn't discussed anything with Feige about how they'd go about incorporating Deadpool, they certainlywouldn't have made any iron-clad decisions about it given they were facing up to 18 months before knowing if they even had anything.

When it's all finalised they'll sit down and go over it. It might be that Deadpool doesn't join the MCU but continues in it's own 'verse. Either way it'd be silly to not keep making films that are pulling in 7-8 times the production budget at the box office.

That's what I mean: Disney could see an R-rated film about a bunch of mature randos with superpowers called X-Force as brand confusion. Better to call whatever they make Deadpool 3.

As long as Deadpool is front and center in the marketing, then it won't matter what it's called.

All I ever wanted when I first started to frequent this thread years ago was to get FF back. And just like that not only they get FF but Xmen and the whole damn company that had their film rights. Who would have ever thunk it?

It really is a great thing for Marvel fans.

That is why the victory doesn't feel complete. Are all the FFINO defenders banned? Surely there must be some left that we can invite in here?

Are there not any objectors?

Why can't there be at least one FFINO defender who still insists this isn't going to happen and will argue with us? The quality of FFINO defenders these days has gone down since DigificWriter left us. But he wasn't the only one.

It is truly mind blowing. Just thinking back to December when the first rumblings broke that Disney and Fox had even considered what was previously thought unthinkable. Really is something else.

He was a worthy adversary, shame he got banned for calling someone a name over... Star Wars of all things haha.

I dedicate this post to him. Shine on, you argue for the sake of argument mad man.

They're an endangered species. There hasn't been any sightings of one since late 2016 :o

In fairness to some of the FFINO supporters they were saying Fox would never ever let the rights revert.

So they were proven correct, in the best possible way :)
