Age bending all mutants makes characters like Wolverine and Mystique less unique. Only scenario I've seen that could work is having him be locked up in a Hydra/Shield prison trapped in a field of magnetism - in stasis, until he's woken up

Yes, there are some scenarios that can justify Eric's age while still attaching his origin to WW2. Still, I agree with what you have said previously in other boards: Magneto should make people feel uncomfortable now.

The holocaust was awful, yes, but it happened many years ago. It's about the message. Magneto needs to be a politically relevant character now. Bringing debates that is happening now.

Simon Kinberg himself confirmed Dark Phoenix comes out in February

I remember when the inhumans were being built up as the replacement xmen. There is a marvel poster that absolutely offended that had the characters on there but no xmen at all . So I’m glad they will get pushed to the side. Xmen are way more iconic.

I think DP does get released, but it would be a mistake to take Kinberg's word as the Gospel. He's been caught in numerous lies in the past, and if it does get cancelled the decision would be well above his pay grade.

Yes, it is coming out in February. As of right now. Things can change, and if the Disney buyout is closed early enough Kinberg could end up being escorted off the premises by security while holding a cardboard box very quickly.

 That's another reason why an update would work. Because an Erik who hails from a more recent event would be more politically relevant to today and we could get some powerful political commentary on the current situation/climate right now and what's happening to minority groups

Kinberg reminds me of the football coach that talks about his plans for next season, when he's about to go 1-15 and everyone knows he's getting fired as soon as the whistle blows in the final game.

:funny:

Seriously, there's a better than 90% chance this film will be released, but Kinberg parroting the official release date is meaningless.

Where's the trailer? Where's any real information on this film?

I thought it was weird how little talk and information we had for Fant4stic, but even then, we had a trailer and Kinberg had given multiple interviews by the 6.5 month mark.

There's something not right with this film. Maybe it will go straight to video or maybe it will be released with bare bones post-production and tiny marketing budget, but there's close to zero chance this will be a good movie and fitting end to the X-Men.

Have you seen the leaked description of the movie? If that is true then it's Fant4stic bad if not worse.

I haven't. Is it from a credible source?

Hard to say. But there was a guest on Collider Talk, I don't remember his name but he was a writer and producer, and he said those leaked infos matches the infos he got from close friends who saw the test screening. So...

I don't know what's funnier, Kinberg thinking he has any say so in the matter, or Fox-Men fanboys who believe him.

Deja Vu. It's like 2014/2015 again when we heard the rough cut of FFINO was a train wreck, they had to do reshoots including rebuilding sets, etc.

I can't even describe the relief I feel from yesterday's vote and the knowledge that Kinberg will never touch the Fantastic Four again.

I honestly have no idea how anyone could have any faith in him after Fant4stic.

Now it's the long wait until we get anything on film. But at least the FF are safe.

Such a great feeling lol.
