No surprise: The Russo’s are big Noah Hawley fans(they love Fargo) and I wouldn’t mind Hawley directing a Fantastic Four film someday for Marvel Studio’s. Perhaps that Noah Hawley Doom film does happen but down the line after the FF are established in the MCU? Funny enough, Hawley has said that the Winter Solider has inspired the tone of his Doom film.

Oh my I would watch that movie damn. Kinda hope it happens now. Would be cool if Feige started doing standalone movies for villains giving them more depth.

Maybe not movies, but a mini series in the Disney streaming service is certainly another option.

Its interesting how as we get closer and closer to the deal closing more and more info is starting to trickle out.

Feige is interested in a Dark Avengers movie. But nothing solo

I would absolutely want a Noah Hawley Doom film in the MCU. Sadly I don't see it happening.

I think a Doom origin story could be really interesting, but I'm concerned what it will do for the character.

He should be dangerous and mysterious and an origin story will humanize him and make him feel less threatening.

Darth Vader's origin didn't do him any favors.

I might only want to see a Doom film later on down the line, long after he's been set up as a mysterious and imperious villain in the MCU. I don't want his origin being the first thing we see and how he came to be who he is. We don't need that. But they could do a Doom mini series on Disney's streaming service later on instead of a movie.

I don't want a Doom movie. But a Doom 6-8 episode series on Disney+? Yes, I want that.

Yeah, I was thinking something similar. I was even thinking a full FF/Doom series that shows all the characters prior to their respective accidents could be really good if done well.

While I do want Doom to be mysterious, epic, grandiose, the whole 9 yards, BUT his backstory is MADE for a tv series/movie whatever...his mother a witch, his father the gypsy healer, the tribe, Latveria, the baron, meeting Richards in college, the explosion, the Tibetan monastery, the forging of his armor, the takeover of Latveria, all of that is just soooo beautifully Shakespearean in its storytelling and presentation

But you only do that later as a prequel of sorts rather than doing it in chronological order starting with all of that. I don't want us getting stuck on all of his early life, especially in the movies, before we ever get to see him become Doom. And I definitely don't want that only in the last 15 minutes of episode 13 that he finally decides to wear a green cloak.

Give us a fully formed Doom. Let us experience that, and then LATER go back and do a prequel. None of these Netflix-type glacially slow build ups just to accumulate one small item of a costume or vaguely start showing any signs of being the character we all know.

I agree. In Doom's case, a Disney+ 6-8 episode series that serves as a prequel to an already established Doom is the best way to go.

It's kind of crazy that in a few years Doom will finally be in the MCU.

Hopefully much much sooner...Doom could have his start as early as Endgame in a mid or post credit sequence...heck even a mention of Latveria would be enough to set the stage....

I don't want to see Doom as an Avengers villain. I think doing some type of Masters of Evil/Thunderbolts (whatever title they opt to use for them), Galactus, Kang, etc is best for the Avengers. Doom I'd like to see in other stuff, but be ultimately the FF's nemesis. That said, if they do a Secret Wars crossover, yes make him the main villain of that.

I think Doom can be every bit the Avengers level villain that Kang, Galactus, and Ultron are.

Just depends on how they do him. I, for one, think the character is more than suited to take on the Avengers(especially if he steals the power cosmic from Silver Surfer) or attains the powers of a god. Plus, I think for the Avengers I feel it would be a nice change of pace to face off against an earth-based villian next time around instead of another cosmic threat like Thanos.

Here is the issue: Doom's best stories are in the pages of the FF. If you make him an Avengers villain, I think he'd end up having a looser connection to the FF because the Avengers brand is top dog. Doom is Marvel's best villain, but the rivalry I value most in comics is his rivalry with Reed. I just don't think every great villain should be given to the Avengers, essentially. That would be at the detriment of the FF to me. Do I want to see a Doctor Doom who now was Tony Stark's childhood rival? Hell no. You may say "They will never do that!" But they did it with Ultron. That's why I think Doom needs to stay with the FF. The Avengers don't need him.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. For me, I think Doom would be a fine adversary for the Avengers to face off against. As I said, should Doom gain a major boost in power(i.e, gaining the power cosmic or attaining god-like powers) then he’s in my view every bit the threat to them as someone like Ultron & Thanos are. Plus, Loki is primarily a Thor villian but they still made him an antagonist for the Avengers film and I didn’t feel it was a detriment to Thor really. Hasn’t Doom been a villain for the Avengers comics before?

But Loki was A - the villain of a Thor movie prior, and B - Loki has been a nemesis to the Avengers in their book more than Doom. Has Doom faced the Avengers? Many times, but less than someone like Loki, and for Doom way fewer times than the FF. So Loki made more sense.

The FF need Doom more than the Avengers.

Doom, Galactus, and Annihilus shouldn't be Avengers villains. They are FF villains. After Endgame I don't want the big crossover films to be called Avengers, call them Marvel something. Like Marvel's Secret Wars, Marvel's Annihilation War, things like that.

Well, I certainly want Doom to appear in the FF movie prior to menacing the Avengers and it doesn’t really matter that Loki has been a villain to the Avengers more than Doom in the comics. I don’t see how that should preclude him from being a legit bad guy for the Avengers to face off against in the MCU, especially it has precedent in the comics. Doom has the formidable combination of intellect and power(should he get the power cosmic) so he’d be already a lot more dangerous than someone like Loki who’s mostly just a shapeshifter.

Again, I think Doom would offer a nice change of pace from the extra-terrestrial baddies the Avengers have faced so far.

If Thor’s abandoned estranged half-brother can be a threat to Earth’s Mightest Heroes than surely Reed Richards’s embittered, science rival can surely be up to the task of being a thorn on the Avengers side.
