The difference is... Loki WAS the villain that set in motion the events that created the Avengers way back in Avengers 1 in the 60's. His place in the first Avengers movie was perfectly in line with the comics.
While the situation may have been different, his trajectory with Thor in Phase 1 was spot-on.

Doom would make a good adversary for the Avengers, so would Galactus. But if you take away the best villains from the Fantastic Four, you'll be left with the Red Ghost and his Super Apes. Who wants to see that movie?
Bear in mind: I’m not asking for Doom to make his debut in a Avengers film but I eventually want to see him be a villian for the Avengers to fight. Doom can still be a villian for both Fantastic Four and Avengers to face hence my Loki comparison/Thor comparison. My preference for Doom in the MCU is that he first appears in the FF film then he faces off against the Avengers in the fifth Avengers film where both the Avengers & Fantastic Four join forces to defeat a Doom who has stolen The Silver Surfer’s powers.

Russo Bros Still Willing to Work With Marvel after 'Avengers: Endgame'

Yes! I hope they come back for X-Men or F4. I want to see both properties get Russoed haha.
The Russo’s wouldn’t fit FF. I actually think they’d be more interested in X-Men but frankly I’d rather Marvel give them a break and get some new blood. The work the Russos have done has been tremendous but I prefer they go and do something smaller after helming two behemoths of movies back-to-back. They’re interested in working with Marvel so maybe Marvel keeps them in like a consulting or executive producing role but overall I’d say the Russos need a break.

People think Thanos is marketable, you wait until Disney gets a hold to Doom. He screams the ultimate bad guy. He's super smart, a magician, deep, his suit gives him strength and dude is always like 20 steps ahead. They turned Loki and Thanos into household names, Doom will have his own ride at Disney!

I think the Russos could do a great job with FF, but I'd sort of like someone fresh to give it a unique feel.

But I trust Marvel, so I have faith that whoever they choose will be up to the job.

This is the great thing about Marvel getting these characters back. After they created a Thanos that seems so unstoppable, they now have Doom, Galactus, Annihilus, Kang etc. to keep the ball rolling and really broaden the universe and threats.

And the unique thing about Doom is he's 'ours'. He's a universal threat that comes from our humble planet. :funny:

I guess I just see it differently than you do. From my perspective, I just think using Kang and other aliens after Thanos would feel rather redundant and in order to change things up I suggest Doom as a bad guy because unlike Magneto or Green Goblin I generally see him as bad guy for the rest of universe to fight. I think Doom brings something new to the table, imo.

Kang could easily be portrayed differently. So can any other alien threat. It just requires putting a creative spin on it. But again, they have many other Earth based villains and ideas not used yet, such as the Master of Evil (who I would imagine likely would be rebranded as the Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers in a movie).

And about your preference for Doom to face against Avengers in a film version of ‘Secret Wars’. I don’t really see how it makes much of a difference, imo. Avengers Infinity War, I'd argue wasn't really an Avengers film is so much the film version of the Marvel crossover event ‘Infinity Guantlet’ using the Avengers branding so to me doing another Avengers film that adapts Secret Wars is pretty much the same thing. Granted Marvel could always adapt those large scale superhero crossovers and title them something else but I’d also argue you can indeed show the FF as equals to the Avengers in a Avengers film. It all depends on the execution. If, for say, you have the FF work alongside or collaborate with the Avengers in order to stop Doom or in fact make it a point to show the Avengers can’t defeat Doom without the FF’s help then I don’t really see it as devaluing the team should they put Doom as a foe for the Avengers to face against. But that’s just me.

But anyway I digress. I don't want derail the topic. I’m sure you’ll reply but I’m about finished. I’ll move on.

IW was a great event, but when I see an Avengers movie, I would like it to be more focused on the Avengers. IW works fine because it set-up Endgame, which looks to be more of a proper Avengers movie that's actually about the Avengers. But in the future, I want the Avengers movies to actually be about the Avengers. Not just a team-up movie. Team up movies should be their own thing. Not every Marvel hero is an Avenger. Avengers refers to specific characters and a specific team. When I see an Avengers movie, I would rather see all the members get proper development, not be like Captain America or Black Widow in IW who basically have no character arcs and are barely in it. Again, IW works for me because it was half of a larger story that ultimately will be about the Avengers. Something like Secret Wars should not be that. Secret Wars should be an event focusing on everyone. Hence why I would not want that branded as an Avengers movie.

Russos would fit Wolverine.

I agree, but I would love to see them go on to direct another team epic. Specifically, I think that the Russos would be a great fit for the classic Defenders from the comics: Doctor Strange, Hulk, Valkyrie, the Silver Surfer and Namor. The Defenders were the greatest non-team in comics history and I've been holding out hope that Kevin Feige will one day find a place for their brand of weirdness in the MCU.

If there’s a MCU Latveria I bet it’s right next door to Sokovia.

True, they're both (probably) in the Balkans. But there is absolutely no reason to erase Latveria from Doom's history or to make Tony Stark one of Doom's adversaries. As beloved as Tony is by the general audience, he does not have to be part of every story in the MCU.

Honestly, whenever I have pictured what I would do with Doom and Latveria, I always pictured maybe Latveria was a neighboring country to Sokovia, and Doom as a show of good faith maybe willingly opens his borders to Sokovian refugees and provides them housing or something in his country, while also maybe taking pieces of Ultron that were left beyond in Sokovia for study and maybe even elements of Ultron's abilities make their way into Doom's armor design. But of course, he improves upon them and makes it his own. But that would be as far as I would go with Stark's involvement in Doom's history.

Yes, it’s been good to date but time to start leaving Stark out of stories or the MCU just feels smaller. I do want to always see him interact with new MCU characters more than anyone else but time to let other legends live on their own merits. As for Latevria yes, and the events in Sokovia can bring Doom out of hiding and be used as his reason to start a hostile reaction.

I like the sound of all of that.

When Netflix did the Defenders, I wasn't pleased they were using that name for that group. But it wasn't successful anyway and most of the Netflix shows are cancelled now. They'll probably ignore the Defenders mini series anyway. Did they even call themselves that?

They've kind of ruined Hellcat in Jessica Jones though. But maybe they can do a reboot of her as a more classic version in a yellow and blue cat costume.

They could always put in a classic Defenders team in a movie, but not give themselves a name.

Disney-Fox Merger Won't Affect Deadpool's R Rating, Bob Iger Clarifies

That’s really old. Well all know Disney will let DP be R-rated.

Speaking of which in just a few days it will be the one year anniversary of the Disney/Fox deal official announcement. The deal that will change everything in regards to the rights situation of our beloved Marvel characters forever!

Well, we may not know what day, but Punisher season 2 is coming to Netflix in January sometime. The Netflix video showing everything coming to the service in January was posted earlier, and it had a brief Punisher season 2 tease in it (though provided no exact date).
