Early February- I’ll definitely be marking all of my calendars! I’m a bit surprised it’s so early, though. Did they bump it, I wonder? Wouldn’t Q1 suggest sometime in March?

It looks like it was a recent change because I'm pretty sure Iger said he hoped to talk more about the merger at the earnings call in April (which technically would be the start of Q2 not 1st half of 2019 like they've been estimating). Hopefully this is a good sign.

These are marvel characters. They belong to marvel and marvel knows how to handle them. End of story. X-men isn’t supposed to be some grounded, black leather suit wearing , wolverine focused property.

And no homecoming is not the worst Spider-Man movie. Asm2 is. A film made by Sony

See? This is exactly what i mean, this passive-aggresive style of comments.

The X-Men are with Marvel already, but under fox, the mcu has not handled very well anything, disney knows how to make business with them, not how to handle them.
Overall yeah the mcu is okay and unique but it also has plenty of flaws, a lot of underdeveloped and rushed stuff (what they did with SHIELD in the movies is a good example, the Captain America trilogy is a good example, Thor Ragnarok is a shining example of disney completely not kowing how to handle a character) and etc.

In case you did not noticed, all superhero heroes movies try to be "grounded" no matter how many fantasy or science fiction elements are in it, so your point does not make much sense. And is not focused on Wolverine, and they do not wear black leather all the time...

And is not the "end of the story" yet, we have one more awesome X-Men movie coming, no matter if you want it or not :)

Also, while being pretty bad, ASM2 has several good moments.
Homecoming has one, and is brief, everything else was not handled well at all.

While I disagree with almost everything you said I fully respect your opinion but your posts sort of remind me of another poster from months ago who got banned.

If they see no problem, then that means that they are working diligently with both Brazil and Mexico to address any concerns.

It seems like the problems (sports channels) are similar to what they've already addressed in the US and EU, so they were probably prepared to deal with it. I wouldn't be surprised if they have something worked out in principle but just haven't officially announced it yet.

The entire Hollywood Reporter interview that quote was taken from is a good read. Kevin Mayer was Disney's point man when the negotiations with the Murdochs were occurring last year. He is also the person in charge of establishing Disney+, ESPN+ and Disney's control of Hulu.

Mayer's statement that the Netflix shows might move to Disney+ has a lot of weight precisely because he is the person developing that service. Likewise, when he says that the Fox acquisition is nearing closure, we can have confidence in that because he led the effort to broker the deal.

I think rogue and storm are shoe-ins for larger roles in the mcu. Primarily because of black panther and captain marvel. Cyclops as well, but because we have basically never seen him done well. Similarly, ice man would be cool (pun intended) to see with some depth.

I'd be fine if that's where the focus stays when it comes to the team. Having a few others around would be fine tho. But keeping jean and Logan at bay for a few installments would be just fine with me.

I agree, except for Rogue. I think Marvel would follow a similar line of thinking they did with Spider-man, make a list of everything we've already seen and treat them as something to avoid as to keep the reboot new and fresh. The first three films focused quite a bit on Rogue as a result I don't think they'll make her a major player. Similar with Wolverine, I see him being around but not the focus. While Iceman had a lot of screen time I never felt his character was properly fleshed out and I think Marvel can have a lot of fun with his powers. I can very easily picture Cyclops as the lead with Iceman as or entry character.

@pr0xyt0xin agreed.

I just hope whatever nutty hijinx Marvel Studios pull to get Ryan Reynold's Deadpool incarnation involved, that somehow they have Deadpool bring McAvoy and Fassbender along with him. They're such great castings of young Charles and Erik.

Conversely they might be dodgy with Iceman since we know Marvel loves that foreign box office. Cyclops and Storm are definitely characters I see taking on big roles since they never really got their dues. Kitty Pryde as well, unless they want Jubilee to be the cute kid character instead (and hey, Chinese box office).

Would be nice if we got Mexico and Latin America approval before the end of the year. But I doubt it. But shouldn't be long into the new year before we do.

I doubt they're coming to the MCU with Reynolds. I want older actors for Charles and Erik

Jean should be a founding member of the X-Men, just focus on other aspects of the character besides the Phoenix but she needs to be in the first movie. Wolverine I agree should be kept out of the X-Men movies for a bit. I'd bring Magneto back in the third installment to close out the the first trilogy and introduce Mystique in a non X-Men movie.

If Marvel can make the most successful X-Men movie without Wolverine then I will forever see them as the studio that makes the impossible possible.

Then why not give her her own film?

I'm not opposed to this. I just think it's unlikely right now. Like I said in that post you quoted "right now, Black Panther has the best plataform in the MCU to introduce Storm, in my opinion"

@MewMewTwo Will you watch MCU X-Men?

On theaters? It depends if it looks good or not. To put an example, in 2017 i went to see zero mcu movies, no Guardians, no Homecoming, no Ragnarok, they all looked really bad and i was proven right when i watched them later at home. The movies in my country are too expensive as to go watch everything that gets released.

No idea, i cannot see any comment by any "BWX" user there or any discussion or anybody trolling, is that the right page?

Also, no, this is my first time here, i am not a troll just because i dont want he mcu going overboard with jokes as it often does, they need to find a balance in the tone of the movies.
If my post sound similar to other is because i am not the only one tired of jokes in the mcu killing serious/suspensful/sad moments for the sake of having a joke, is just bad writing.

I mean, i could write a really REALLY long essay going through every single mcu movie and even scene by scene in every movie explaining why some jokes work and why most of them dont and a lot of other stuff, but it would be a lot of time and energy and it would be kinda pointless really.

This might make you angry but My family owns share in Disney, and I vote yes on the merger with Fox for reasons related to the packet and also the X-Men.

Xmen and F4 are marvel characters they belong at Marvel they were only sold out of desperation.

Fox should have done the honerable thing years ago and sold them back to Marvel or just let the rights revert. Instead of giving us these fake xmen and f4 adaptations. They got lucky with xmen but f4 showed they really didnt care about the characters.

:funny::pal: You make it seem like the Fox version of the X-Men was the bootleg version and technically, you're not wrong. The formula became tired for me after Singer came back. I was ready for a new take on the franchise.
