I just can’t wait to see how they explain details like Adamantium. Especially how the MCU solidified Vibranium as being the toughest metal they have.
Well, Adamantium was the result of the US Government trying to recreate Cap's Shield which was fused with Vibranium. So the two are intrinsically linked to one another.

Wouldn't be surprised if the MCU's Adamantium is the result of the Government trying to recreate Vibranium itself in the 40s and 50s.

Well that would be awesome!

It would make sense in the MCU too

A January close would give them two and a half months to come up with a FF post credit tease for End Game. I just dont want them to rush casting an actor for Doom/silver surfer/galactus etc. With Doom you could get away with just a random guy in a mask and cast later.

Kinda like what they did with Thanos

Same token, you can just use really good CGI for Galactus or Silver Surfer.

Amazing news! I just wished they could be less secretive about the whole thing; it instantly reminds me of the whole insider scoops on trailers thing.

And I just realized, if they don't come through with the conference call, this could be the closest we get to an official closing date announcement, yes?

Yea this is the closest thing I think well get to an "official" close date. Disney has very strict rules when it comes to forward looking statements like this because literally anything can effect their stock price. Imagine if they officially announced a close date but then for whatever reason they missed said date? Stocks would tank. Which wouldn't be good. But this news makes the February earnings call even more exciting.

Don't think they will personally. They have forever to introduce the ff or doom. There is no rush at all. Fans are impatient and want them now but marvel have plenty of other stories to tell. They will introduce them in a cameo or something a bit closer to when they are going to release a film about them or doom is going to be a big bad. The whole point of a cameo or credits scene is to build excitement for an upcoming film a bit like a trailer. There is no point doing one if the film you are trying to build excitement for is years away as that excitement will be gone by the time it arrives.

Huh? Then explain why they teased Thanos at the end of the first Avengers film. when Infinity War wasn't even on their slate yet? Before they even mapped out the movies that were going to be in their Phase 2 slate.

Avengers was teased in iron man because it tied the next few films together. The audience knew that these weren't standalones and were more likely to watch incredible hulk, cap and thor films. Thanos reveal did the same for the films leading to infinity war. Now the next lot of films would have been planned before the disney fox merger so it is unlikely that doom or the ff will tie them all together in the same way. Not impossible but unlikely. Feige would not have been allowed to put them in the planning as that could have been considered collusion (between fox and disney) and could have risked the deal. Now they might want to change things and have doom as the next big bad but that would mean a lot of changes to scripts etc... but why bother? They have time to introduce them at their own pace, their isn't a rush.

I think we as fans need to seperate what we want to happen to what marvel are likely to do. Now i could be wrong and feige really wants to rush them in or he may have talked to noah hawley about his doom film and that could be put into quick production. We'll see.

I think we will get an announcement at least a few weeks prior. They're doing a lot of groundwork now, but everything will change on the closing date and they need their employees to be ready. Because we're talking about thousands of people who will be working for Fox the day before the closing and Disney the day after the closing, it will have to be broadly known and anticipated by employees, so it can't be a secret.

They may not make a big show of announcing it (though I wouldn't be surprised if they do), but I believe at least two weeks prior, at a minimum, it will be publicly known, and at the very least, the financial news outlets will be reporting on it before it actually happens.

Something like this wouldn't be hard.

Doom sitting in a dark room. Watching news reports of the Avengers victory. we see a him take a sip of wine then breaks the glass out of anger. He gets up out of the chair and we see him walk over to a work bench. picks up the mask but we dont see the actors face. No dialog required.

On the news they can easily just announce that Dr. Reed Richards has been making breakthrough discoveries in space travel that allows for spaceships to travel further in space than ever could before thanks in part to him studying and repurposing the leftover Chiaturi technology from the Battle of New York for use of space travel so the government has hired him as a consultant for the development of a new spaceship so humanity can explore the cosmos and broaden their knowledge of life outside of Earth.

"We are not alone in the universe."

“Dr. Richards, now might be a really good time for you to get stretchy.”

“Thats my secret, Cap. I’m always stretchy.”

If I remember correctly wasn’t it said that Brazil would approve of the deal in early January?
