I'm not familiar with U.S politics and what not but does anyone know if the partial government shutdown the U.S is experiencing might effect when the deal closes? I'm assuming it wouldn't.

Should have zero impact. If the shut-down drags on for months, that could potentially cause problems, but that's not likely to happen and we can worry about that if/when it happens.

Into the Spider-Verse being so good actually makes me kind of wonder if I truly want Sony to lose to the rights. Especially since I think it was far better than Homecoming which underwhelmed me immensely.

Venom is still a bad movie that makes a lot of money, and even if you do dislike Homecoming you have to admit it's the best Spider-Man movie since Raimi's Spider-Man 2. Tom Holland is a terrific Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Vulture is a great villain, one we haven't had since Doctor Octopus. I have a feeling that Far From Home will be even better.

The whole Disney/Fox deal is failing. They didn't manage to get it done on time for Christmas Day!

No, if one hated Homecoming, they could argue TASM1 was the best entry since SM2. And let's be frank, Spider-verse is far more ambitious and interesting while still managing to be true to the comics than Homecoming ever was, and I like Homecoming a lot.

I liked Spider-Verse and I still want them to lose the rights.

The next chance will be Xmas 2019. Hopefully they get their act together. The only prob is that they all have a day off on Xmas day so the one day when they can cannounce anything, no one is working. As a result the merger could be stuck in an infinite delay loop.

I heard fox is going to make audiences travel to an alternate universe to see New Mutants

It could be quite costly for the studio, but it seems like the only way they can get it to the big screen at this point. Rumor has it that Kinberg directed reshoots to fit aspect ratios that translate well to the alternate universe’s screen dimensions. Take that with a grain of salt though.

If I get to stay there a week and do my own thing, check out the local zoo and main tourist attractions etc, then that would get me to see it.

Yeah maybe I’ll catch Justice League: Mortal and Superman Lives if I have a few extra days to play around with

I wonder if Comcast had never made a bid for Fox thus the original shareholder meeting is never delayed would this deal already be done by this December? The deal would’ve started through the international approval process earlier than it ultimately did which makes me think it would’ve closed a bit earlier than the time it’s looking it will.

The shareholder vote was only delayed by 2 weeks. I don't think it wouldn't have made much of a difference if they started the approval process 2 weeks earlier.

Marvel Strike Force has the Brotherhood, Magneto, Mystique and Sabretooth now.

How convenient.

I forget who it was, but I recall one jerk on here claimed Fox and Marvel were going to make a deal or negotiation to use the Fox characters beforehand. This was after the deal first got announced.

It never happened.

I also love how some argue that mutants and “ fox” characters can’t fit in the mcu for whatever reason

I hope to see Magneto finally dressed in red and purple and wearing a proper Magneto helmet.

Why is Mystique wearing a quilt?

I wish we had more news on the Disney Fox deal. It's taking too long to close.
