I’m much more excited for Fantastic Four than X-Men. The thought of finally seeing a non-crappy Fantastic Four film that won’t make me either cringe or embarrass me puts a smile on my face.

People like to debate who has the best rogues' between Spider-Man and Batman, but for my money the clear-cut #3 is the FF villains. What they can offer the MCU moving forward is staggering in terms of scale, even more so when you consider that Kang is wrapped up in that license.

Captain Marvel tickets are now on sale.

Got mine already!!!

Speaking about Captain Marvel. Who wants MCU Rogue to be introduced in the inevitable Captain Marvel sequel?
If they did that, CM would have to be out of commission only for a short time, probably mostly offscreen. They probably have too big plans for her for it to be handled any other way. But yes I would love to see Rogue introduced there if they can make it work.

In terms of scale, F4 villains are hard to beat.

Perfect way to introduce Rogue into the MCU and at the same time, illustrate the desultory nature of mutants in the MCU. If some small-town mutant girl from Mississippi could put Captain Marvel: Earth's strongest hero -- in the hospital. Imagine the ramifications of what that will mean for the world in general.

Throw Mystique in there too as the manipulating force pulling Rogue's strings.

An interesting quote from Feige last night at the golden globes.

“The truth is, I’m excited for all of them,” he said. “I’m excited, and it’s not just the marquee names you know — there are hundreds of names on those documents, on those agreements.”

He said before he hasnt thought about the characters at all yet. But if hes seen documents this could imply hes talked with lawyers about what theyre allowed to develop and how early.

Well, as far the Eternals go, you have the Deviants as a subset, of whom Thanos is but one.

The Deviants hate the Celestials, that's why they worship the Celestials arch enemy, Set, as a way to spite the Celestials.

Set is the God of Death, being the first murderer. So that's where Thanos predilection for death comes from.

Seeing as Set and his Serpent Men are explicitly tied into the mutants origin, his war against the Celestials beginning at the inception of mutants, (a popular fan theory is that he orchestrated M Day to humiliate the Celestials, which makes more sense than any of the trite explanations Marvel has published).

Well, it took five beers to get the taste of Floptastic out of my mouth, and I still want to flay someone with lemon paper napkin used to clean a margarita glass rim of excess salt for what they did to our Latverian Overlord, but...

It was not as bad as thought, save what they did to Victor.

Now, I held up my end of the bargain, Mephistopholes.....
Now, bring the deal home. I will even host a Rider if need be.

I think Rogue could put Cpt. Marvel in the hospital and she spends some of the film without powers. It would make her seem more vulnerable before she gets them back and has to take on Rogue again.

 Honestly, this is the first clip that's really interested me in this film.

And that raises a key point: If Captain Marvel happens to be the first film that doesn't connect with fans (not saying it will, just a hypothetical), Marvel is going to have a problem forcing her as the premier character.

Fans embraced Captain America and Tony Stark. They're not going to just love a character because Marvel tells them to.

But they will if the movie is good.

I doubt they would push her as a premier character in the same way as Iron-man. If they need to push someone to the forefront for the next generation then it would make more sense to push Black Panther. I don't see Cpt. Marvel connecting with audiences in the same way.

Well I certainly don't see Captain Marvel connecting with audiences in quite the same way that Wonder Woman did. And she won't have quite the same impact as her, even if CM does well at the box office. WW was a phenomenon, and it's hard to repeat that because certain elements are just not there no matter how hard one tries to argue they are. CM won't have the iconic status of WW, or be the first major female-led superhero movie, or won't even have the Disney princess factor that transcended superhero movies.

Oh man, Kevin Feige indicated that Adam McKay wants to work on a Silver Surfer movie. Please please please let this happen. I need a Silver Surfer movie in my life. Also, he said something about a Galactus "cameo" in Vice? I haven't seen it yet but can someone explain to me what he meant by that?

They compare Cheney's lust for power to Galactus swallowing planets and it shows a still image of Galactus from an issue of FF.

Ah, thanks. I figured it was probably some sort of comparison between the two.
