You can only imagine how little I care about the general consenus. But just for the sake of argument however, if you go to the rate Doctor Strange thread in here, you will see no shortage of those who rated it in the 8, 9 and 10 range. I'm hardly alone in my opinion that it was better than a middling effort.

Middling effort is not what I would say for it. I love the movie, but as far as other MCU films, it is middle of the pack IMO. But again, I love the movie.

Captain America: The First Avenger is my favorite origin MCU film.

It will work exactly like they will make money to have their names on it, but have zero power.
Probably. I wonder when we'll see the first mutant. I'd imagine that mutants will just start appearing after Eternals and we won't get a true explanation until X-Men to build an aura of mystique around why mutants are showing up, what they are and what it means for humanity. An eerie sense of mystery around the mutant phenomenon that leads into the X-Men film where we finally learn WHY this is happening

That's fine, I like it more than many "objectively better" superhero movies as well. But the critical consensus was what it was and the movie is still the 2nd lowest-grossing entry of Phase 3.

Though it's likely that it would've grossed more if it had been released today.

Kinberg will march into Feige's office with a script that's a sequel to Dark Phoenix that he's been working on all this time.

This will be the reaction:

Kinberg should know it's house cleaning time. So no Dark Phoenix sequel for him.

Are Fantastic Four and X-Men characters already going to appear in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3? That's a Nintendo exclusive game so I haven't kept up with it. Project Avengers is still in development and so maybe they'll be unlockable or dlc but please please let there eventually be an X-Men Legends 3!!!
Wolverine and Storm are in Marvel Alliance 3. Fantastic Four will likely come in a DLC.

I wonder if we'll see a new iteration of Marvel vs Capcom. Infinites sorta dropped off a bit, but the rumour was they were going to make you pay for X-men and Fantastic Four dlc until it was deemed not to be worthwhile.

I wouldn't doubt there being a Super Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom:Infinite

Wait, Raimi may partner for a Spider-Man movie? I am really hoping it is an animated version of his Spider-Man 4!!!

Fair. Although the RT critic rating was close to 90% a great many of those were 7/10 reviews. Fair point.

Also to be fair, most people A. Don't have a wife who's enthusiasm for the movie and character are as high as mine's is and that's contagious and B. Most people aren't 3D enthusiasts like me and many of the set pieces in that movie really pop in 3D.

Edit: I also have always had a soft spot for wizards/sorcerers/mages going back to Gandalf so that plays into it.

Short version: It checks a lot of boxes for me.

Makes me wonder what a Raimi produced Spider-man animated series would be like. Can't be worse than Disney's last couple of efforts.

The best thing about the Fox deal vs the Spider-Man licensing deal is Feige won't be forced to get a movie out every 2 years like they are with the Sony deal he can take his sweet time build up properly to the F4 and X-Men. And we won't get mistakes like the 8 years later error.

What about a solo X-Men fighting game like like X-Men: Next Dimension?

The deal closing this morning is one of the nicest Birthday presents I could have hoped for.

A big shout out to all of us who were here in this thread from the beginning. Hope kept alive, hope fulfilled, and in manner we never would have seriously guessed at back then.

Now for God's sake Marvel, don't mess them up, lol..

Funny to think that Marvel Studios even while being below "50% of power" could still smash the industry. Now at "95% of power" they're totally going to destroy it. lol

I wouldn't count on it. The X-Men making it back into other general Marvel Universe games is slowly happening (like Ultimate Alliance 3) but I'm not expecting them to start getting solo console games anytime soon. Even prior to the stupid Fox ban, the last time the X-Men actually got a console game was 2011.
