The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 24

Last night might have been the best sleep ive had in ages not worrying about what approvals are left and knowing the F4 and X-Men are back.

I hate to be a debbie downer but that might be our Empire Strikes Back right there. After the victory of blowing up the Death Star known as Fox's control of X-Men and Fantastic Four now we might get our arm's cut off(not literally obviously) when Sony pulls out Spider-Man out of the MCU.

Our Return Of Jedi is Comcast/Universal redeeming themselves and giving up the remaining Marvel distribution/theme parks rights in exchange for something.
If Sony tries to force Feige into putting Venom in the MCU as well as their other spinoffs, I could see him walking away from the deal.

I'm guessing FFH is going to have a definitive ending to Peter's arc in case this happens

I am Willie's F4 brother lol...I may not post as much as him, but you don't know the type of F4 and especially Doom fan that I am...epic epic comic book collection with soooo much F4 and Doom focus, toys, and various merch....

Does Sony have a set time for spidey in the MCU or there's no expiration yet? If spider-man is getting the trilogy treatment like other characters then that leaves Far From Home, MCU Spidey 3 and maybe Avengers 5

The existing deal expires after FFH. It was for 5 movies, CW, Homecoming, IW, EG, and now FFH. They have to extend the deal for further appearances.

But what makes this confusing is Hollands contract includes a sixth film. Im guessing the licensing deal (which apparently only covers 5 films) is separate from Hollands contract.

The 6th film thing in Holland's contract has always been interesting. But yes, the deal itself with Sony/Marvel Studios ends with FFH unless the extend the deal or agree to a new one.

The deal closing this morning is one of the nicest Birthday presents I could have hoped for.

A big shout out to all of us who were here in this thread from the beginning. Hope kept alive, hope fulfilled, and in manner we never would have seriously guessed at back then.

Now for God's sake Marvel, don't mess them up, lol..
Happy Birthday!

Well if we can get cameos or mentions of them in the meantime, I am cool with that...a F4 film in 2021 would be ideal cause that will mark the 60th anniversary of the F4s first comic book appearance

Oh damn. Well hopefully they do! I hope Far From Home doesn't have a cliffhanger that sets up more or a screwy ending that appears he's dead again then sony be like that was fun but yeah...we keeping him here again

Small teases for Fantastic Four until their film would be nice and same with x-men.

Doctor Strange 2 - Baxter building appears

Black Panther 2 - Space mission announced on a tv screen

Black Widdow - Latveria mentioned

Will Storm, Weather Goddess and leader of the X-Men, finally become more popular with the masses than Groot the talking tree? Time will tell.
Definitely. She's about to be the second most popular xmen, only behind Wolverine. A lot of people are invested in what the MCU will do with her.

I just realized something Marvel has gotten access to most if not all their best female characters.

Better watch out Carol Danvers, Rogue is coming for you.
And she better not touch a hair on Carol's head. :nuhu:

I want FF to be the cornerstone of the MCU like they used to be in the Marvel Comics Universe.

If done right, FF could be making Incredibles money.

Its a longshot with the first film but the sequels could join the billion dollar club, imo.

I knew Danger Girl wasn't Marvel but I didn't realize it was DC. I thought it was independent. Did it come over via the Image Comics buyout?
I don't know the specifics of it but it might've been when the whole of Cliffhanger Comics, together with Jim Lee's exclusive contract (plus WildStorm) that they were bought off by DC.

I am beyond ecstatic ,or as psylockecolossus would say, eXstatic...

But still focused on the remaining goals:

Getting full Hulk and Namor rights back.
Breaking Sony's hold on Spidey
flushing Perlmutters influence from Marvel TV, or anything Marvel related
and last, but certainly not least
having FOX Dark Phoenix changed to streaming instead of theatrical

Never
Stop
Hoping
Can we add obtaining Netflix MCU seasons for Hulu.

I know you’re being facetious but Danger Girl is DC :p

Are those Netflix characters separated out because of the supposed 2 years that Marvel needs to wait before they can use them again?

I know I'm late in this discussion, since it happened a few pages back, but regarding the possibility of a tease in Endgame related to the F4...
It's certainly very doable.
Not because the acquisition finally closed today, no, but because an agreement could have been made with FOX prior to even the DOJ approval of the buyout. Let's remember that tensions between the 2 companies had eased the last couple of years.
Gunn was given access to Ego. FOX was allowed to change Negasonic, and put a SHIELD Hellicarrier in one of their movies without getting sued. FOX was given rights to produce TV shows they couldn't have done without the Mouse's approval. Who's to say MCU wasn't given access to SS, or Galactus, even before this date was on the horizon?

Feige is the guy with contingencies.

Why not
Although I suspect some of those shows, if not all, will be picked up as soon as the Netflix contract time lapses (2 years, i believe it was). So maybe not the past season, but new seasons might be coming to Hulu sooner than you think... That's assuming Disney+ will for sure not include adult content.
