Campea is not factoring Kenichiro Yoshida at all, dude has a different mindset than Kazuo Hira.

Campea claim that if Venom bombs, Sony is 100% taking Spidey back and out of the MCU.
Lol

that reeks of a petulant child not getting their way, wouldn't put this past sony at all.... but it will damage their brand greatly if that happens. They won't, but its still sony we're talking about, so who knows.

Comichron: August 2018 Comic Book Sales to Comics Shops

Fantastic Four comic reboot sold very well. Have you read it @Willie Lumpkin ?

After not reading any comic books since the first few issues of Ultimate FF, I bought and read every issue of the new Two In One. After enjoying the first few, I became frustrated that it seemed to be going nowhere, but I stuck it out because FF #1 was scheduled and I wanted to see the whole back-story.

Then I bought and read FF #1 and... it was like Two In One never happened. :cmad: And besides it never happening, they were still just teasing the actual FF.

That, frankly, soured me on the whole thing and FF #2 was the first since Two In One #1 that I didn't buy and read the day it came out.

I probably will get it soon, but they haven't impressed me with a year of teasing and very little to show for it.

Not gonna spoil it for you, but I think you'll like issue 2 Willie.

There was some confusion on whether the X-Men would be in the MCU or not since that Wall Street Journal article from a while ago seemed to have implied that even under Disney Fox will still be making X-Men movies(the article even said Disney was going to let Fox make sequels to Dark Phoenix, lol).

Bob Iger has a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter and he basically confirms again what we’ve all suspected: the Fox-licensed Marvel properties will be given to Kevin Feige for him to reinvent in the MCU. Here’s a snippet of the interview.

How is Marvel going to absorb Fox’s X-Men franchise? Is Kevin Feige going to oversee everything?

Iger: I think it only makes sense. I want to be careful here because of what's been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels.

So Deadpool could become an Avenger?

Iger: Kevin's got a lot of ideas. I'm not suggesting that's one of them. But who knows?

When he says “Kevin’s got a lot of ideas” is he saying in general or does he mean specifically in regards to the Fox-licensed Marvel properties?

Anyway there you go: “There shouldn’t be two Marvels” is as straightforward a confirmation you can get. Fox will not be making X-Men movies after the deal closes. Duh. This isn’t news since it was confirmed months ago but after that Wall Street Journal article I thought I should just post this just in case there was still some question on what Disney will do with the Fox-licensed properties.

No room for denial anymore when it comes straight from the lion's mouth. Fox Marvel will cease to exist.

So basically Kevin Feige is now Mastermold. I can dig it.

He's probably saying: "Fox sucks. New Mutants and Dark Phoenix are disasters. Damn I wish we could have done this in time to shut those down. Deadpool we can work with and Kevin has a really cool plan for that. He also has plans for the mutants and the FF that would knock your socks off if I could tell you. But since the deal isn't finalized yet and we still have to function as two completely separate companies, and since I wouldn't want to ruin any surprises even if the deal was done, I'll just say 'Kevins' got a lot of ideas' because that's true and everybody trusts him and that's an easy way to get out of this interview without saying anything I shouldn't.":D

Thank god iger once again clarified something that was always crystal clear

A mercy kill for all FFINO’ers everywhere!

I'm REALLY curious about whats gonna happen to The Gifted and Legion. Legion could be inserted into the MCU because that character is crazy, but I highly doubt Feige would entertain the thought about the Gifted storyline.

As we expected but good to see it in print like that.

I can’t speak on The Gifted, but Legion is a critically acclaimed show and I think Disney would be pretty wise to continue letting Noah Hawley do what he’s doing.

The thought that Kevin Feige who has put characters above everything else since the beginning of he MCU would somehow inherit and incorporate a franchise whose major flaw is the misuse of the majority of its characters was always very entertaining...

Wouldn't it be a great 1-2 punch if in the next few years, we get Marvel's Uncanny X-Men and Marvel's Fantastic Four months after each other in the SAME year?

Oh my stars and garters.

That first MCU x-men movie is going to be so anticipated. It’s already at the tippy top of my list.

So what's going to happen to Netflix now that Disney are making their own Marvel shows in the MCU proper?

So what's going to happen to Netflix now that Disney are making their own Marvel shows in the MCU proper?

As of right now, they're staying where they're at as far as we know. I would operate under that assumption until something changes. But in another thread, the Netflix CEO indicated that those shows will be there for the foreseeable future.

Here is the post I am referring too...references a Deadline article with quote:

According to Reed Hastings, Netflix owns the Marvel shows that air on the streaming service. From Deadline:

“As long as they keep making those shows, they continue on Netflix,” said Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. “Our Marvel series that Disney produces for us — we own those shows. They run until we cancel them.”

So while Disney owns the underlying intellectual property for Jessica Jones, Daredevil or Luke Cage, the Netflix shows based on these comic-book characters remain the streaming service’s property. “We get to use them for a very long time,” said Hastings.

I'm curious as to what "a very long time" means. Do the character rights revert at a set point in time or can Netflix keep them on in perpetuity? Do the shows themselves eventually revert and become available for streaming on Hulu or another service? Disney spent over $70B to (in part) unravel bad licensing deals approved by Ike Perlmutter. The Netflix arrangement may be another Marvel deal the Mouse will end up paying for.

Huh... That's interesting. Especially if Disney is pulling all of their movies from Netflix to put on Disney Play. I wonder If this will create tension in the future since Disney Marvel shows and Netflix Marvel will be competing.

Maybe Marvel will indeed reboot Daredevil for the MCU proper like some speculated months ago

The show will have given Daredevil a built in audience so he will be a valuable character for future efforts.

I am not sure if they are allowed to until Netflix passes on the show. I am inclined to think they cannot. Daredevil can likely be in any show or movie they want though. But if they use the Daredevil branding, my assumption is much like Hulk, Netflix has to pass. I have a hard time believing Netflix wouldn't include a clause like that.

In some ways having the Netflix shows separate makes sense, given their drastic tone difference. It’ll really depend on how dark Disney lets content on their streaming service get. As of now, it would feel a bit odd to see Daredevil sitting next to the Lady and the Tramp live action remake on the Disney service.

But if the Star Wars and Marvel original content gets into more adult storytelling, then it will feel weird that they don’t bring them over.

Then they can make DD a Hulk-esque character. Showing up in other people's movies
