So you watched it, and it's actual merits were dependent on your opinion? And now your opinion is fact after you have spoken for everyone else?
Sorry for the late reply but I never once implied that. And honestly, I’m surprised people like the show, given its creator is treated with as much contempt as Friedberg/Seltzer and Adam Sandler.

Hugh Jackman for Kraven. If only Sony would let marvel use him.

It would never happen but it’d be funny if they cast him as MCU Sabertooth.

Kinda poetic in a way.

Even though Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine was highly- if not universally- praised, one of the most persistent complaints was that he's "too much of a pretty boy.

If Hugh is too handsome for Wolverine, he's way too handsome for Sabretooth. I don't know- at least that's what I think anecdotally. Isn't he supposed to be really... savage looking according to the books?

Edit: I could definitely see him as Kraven. If Sony would stop being a buncha ***holes.

I think he could pull off a very good Reed, the Reed that was not only the smartest guy around, but also one that was adventurous and almost Indiana Jones-ish.

Anyone see that video from comicbookcast where he claims that Disney is trying to get back some of the franchises they dont own?

I dont want to link it and give him clicks for his clickbait but its interesting and makes sense since we heard about Disney trying to buy back the star wars streaming rights which they dont own.

Apparently theres more to this and its not just starwars streaming rights they want back but possibly marvel characters they dont own. He specifically mentions Namor.

It makes sense that Disney would want control of every aspect of Marvel. For too long other studios have eaten off the brand.

Yup. Sony is definitely looking to fill the void left by the Transformers franchise.
I'd argue that even if one finds Venom of bad taste, the Bayformers were on another whole level of juvenile and disjointed filmmaking.

The first Transformers movie was actually decent, but it starts to go downhill in the sequel. As a TF fan, it was so awful that I refused to watch anymore and I don't have any expectations for Bumblebee.

Transformers has always been interestingly bad. I get people like seeing that kind of action on the screen, even if I hate how Bay films them. Venom was just plain dull and mediocre. Nothing about it was interesting. I’m so astounded by its success.

Sometimes you just want to see giant robots beating the s**t out of each other. The Transformers movies delivered that, even though there was some awful crap between the fights.

And what does Venom offer? Tom Hardy doing a bad Nicolas Cage impression?

Venom may be, arguably, higher quality than the Transformer films, but it give Sony the same thing as Transformers (or Fast and Furious as another example) - the apparent ability to make crap films that are profitable.

And that's sort of a bummer. I don't expect Sony to invest in top talent or give the films big budgets now that they've done so well with Venom. I don't believe the potential audience for Venom and other related films are as easy as Transformers or F&F audiences, but it may take a while (and some bad films) until Sony realizes that.

I’ve still yet to see this Venom movie y’all speak of.

But over 800 million ww? Sony is definitely gonna give us a Maximum Carnage movie crossover. Ugh.

I have to say although it still needs to get approval from other regulators, the Chinese approval was one of the biggest hurdles to get through and I have a feeling it will be done by Q1 2019. I tried to look up other foreign regulators but it seems that the Brazil process is the only one we are hearing only, but if all the other regulators approved it quietly, and if Brazil approves it soon then it is possible it could be done by Jan 1, 2019.

 My expectation at this point is they'll announce a date before the end of the year and that date will be before the end of February.
