I've been thinking about the whole title issue and how some of us have been disappointed by the reveal, and how it fits into the big picture. Here we have a movie that literally brings to life some of our wildest lifelong dreams. A movie of which the enormous scale rarely, if ever, has been or will be achieved. And we fault it because why? The title isn't epic enough? We need to have more? I don't want to start any arguments or make any enemies, because honestly, I get the letdown. But I think that the whole "scandal" raises a question that we need to ask ourselves: are we getting too spoiled?

Those of us who are old enough will remember how annoyed everyone was when the title of Star Wars Episode 6 was changed from Revenge of the Jedi to Return of the Jedi. And the amount of difference it made once the move finally released was exactly zero. By opening day, literally no one gave a damn.

Too spoiled. I can't believe some people get rage over a title. What a privilege. :o

Most of us are probably way too focused on the details. Brazil's concerns seem similar to concerns that the US and EU had - too many sports channels under one umbrella - so Disney is probably well on the way to creating a structure Brazil will be happy with.

I'm still optimistic that we'll have an announced date within a month, and an actual close in the first quarter of 2019.

At the end of the article it says:

For its part, Fox is planning to be ready by the beginning of 2019. Peter Rice, president of 21st Century Fox, reportedly told employees in a town hall meeting that the company will be logistically ready to close on Jan. 1.

That's not far away at all. I hope it will be something like that.

I have no problem waiting, I still can't believe this is even happening. The idea of the MCU being complete like this seemed so impossible a few years ago but yet, here we are. Before this deal you could have told me the characters would return in ten years and my response would be "that soon!?"

I really hope Fiege makes the announcement like the phase 3 announcement. Out of the blue, with all of these details they've been keeping.

Even if the deal closes by early next year. I still don’t expect X-Men & Fantastic Four announcements next year. I think Marvel isn’t going to rush those movies. They’ll take their time and focus on the Black Widow, Eternals, Shang-Chi, as well as sequels to Gaurdians(they will find a director for Guardians 3 eventually), Black Panther, and Doctor Strange.

But that doesn’t preclude Marvel from including Fox-licensed characters in the movies they’re developing. Doom could be introduced in Black Panther as some egoistical imperialist who goes to war with Wakanda in order to get access to their Vibranium to use the material to build new armors or to build his Doombots. Silver Surfer could appear in Guardians 3!(assuming they ever get that movie off the ground).

Yeah, but the thing I'm looking forward to is the time that anything could happen.

Right now, we absolutely know there won't be any announcements and we absolutely know X-Men and FF characters won't be popping up anywhere.

Once the deal closes, there could be surprises around any corner.:D

Well hopefully not anything. We don't want Miles Teller showing up, and then Michael B Jordan's Kilmonger character popping up for a cameo just to say "You'll still see it anyway!" :o

I can’t watch that movie partly because I get hungry whenever I look at The Thing. He looks like a walking, talking, fried chicken.

I'm willing to bet the first FOX owned characters to show up in the MCU are going to be Rogue, Storm and then Wolverine. In that order.

The Time Stone showed it to me.

My bet is the 1st one to appear out of the FOX deal is the Silver Surfer. Though another character like Galactus may be referenced prior. I expect Galactus to maybe be referenced in Eternals, since that will go into the origins of the MCU supposedly.

:funny:

I'd put my money on Silver Surfer or Doom.

Followed by Wolverine as probably the first mutant. Hes easy to introduce and already has a large fan base so its a guaranteed success as long as they get the casting right.

But the whole thing is what would be the reasoning behind seeing the Silver Surfer before we even see the Fantastic Four?

Marvel already wanted surfer and galactus for the mcu years ago. They're also easier to introduce than the xmen and possibly even the f4 because theres already the cosmic side of the mcu.

'Avengers: Endgame' director wants a specific take on Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the Disney-Fox deal could complicate it

While talking to Business Insider last week, Joe said that he wanted to see Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom in the MCU, specifically "Fargo" and "Legion" creator Noah Hawley's take.

"I'd love to see Noah's interpretation of that character," Joe said. "Anything that Noah does."

Joe said that the Russos have talked about Hawley's Doctor Doom movie "in passing," but added, "Who knows what's going to happen with everything with the Disney acquisition."

Maybe Noahs script will get updated for the MCU.
