I just don’t think they have enough staying power. Sure they are interesting but idk if when the xmen and ff come back they’ll be as big as they are. I mean idk that’s just me

Any franchise can have staying power if it continues to deliver good content and excite people. There is so much more they could do with the Guardians if they choose to, but they were going to introduce new franchises regardless if they acquired the Fox licenses or not. There will always be things more popular then others, but you can't focus on that too much if you wan't to build a legitimate, sustainable cinematic universe.

Yea true. Guess I forgot that nova still hasn’t been introduced or that Adam guy.

A remake doesn't have to be a beat for beat, note for note retelling. It's adapting the same story. It's a remake.

But it’s not a remake tho. It’s a different take on dark Phoenix saga that has no resemblance to the last stand. Did u even watch that movie? The only thing that’s the same is the jean grey dark Phoenix plot and even that’s different.

Next you’ll be telling me venom is a remake of Spider-Man 3 cause the symbiote is in it

So cause the xmen team fight Jean infront of her House like the last movie it’s a remake? K

It’s not even her house it’s an ally way of some kind
Seems legit

Yea your right I think I see juggernaut and wolverine in the background

Dark Phoenix is essentially a remake of TLS because it's adapting the version of the Phoenix in that story as opposed to to the cosmic deity from the comics. But Ironwez is right in saying that the X-Men have never been rebooted. Days Of Future Past was not a reboot in any sense of the word. Apocalypse takes place in the same universe that X1 did, all it did was wipe away all of the events that took place after 1973. But the actors were still the same, the aesthetic was still the same, Singer was still the director and all of the usual Fox-Men creatives were still involved. That's not a true reboot. If anything, First Class is more of a reboot because of the fact that it's so distinctively different from the rest of the franchise

First Class is more of what I consider a “soft” reboot. They still have Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine in that one.

A live action AvX is definitely gonna happen. Watch.

That is way too much money to be made to not do.
I wonder how much that could make after X-Men have been properly established over a number of films.

Whatever they do with X-Men, just for the love of God, keep Storm with long white hair.

That Halle Berry short bob, 80s mohawk shxt is played out.
Yes and a shot like this would be amazing too.

I would so love to see Storm and Thor going beast mode with lightning at the same time on some durable enemy.

The X-Men franchise may not have rebooted but they certainly act as if they did, what with the two Psylockes, the two Angels, the three (four?) Jubilees, the two Calibans, the two Emma Frosts, the two Trasks (and don't give me the Bill Duke was not "Bolivar" excuse), the two Cyclops (Origins doesn't add up with Apocalypse) etc.

Doesn’t feel like a reboot. Just a messed up timeline. The tone feels the same. But I ain’t gonna derail the thread further.

What pisses me off the most about the FoXmen... you go to all that trouble of changing the timelines and having a good future at the end of DOFP that could've opened the door to several well made movies and connected it to Deadpool, but you go and KILL off all the X-Men just to prop up Logan. Like what was the point of putting us through DoFP then?

Imagine if instead of giving us the typical avengers vs xmen. They give us a few movies to set up the xmen but they also set up the dark avengers for this plot line instead of the main stay team. Throw in the introduction of cable and maybe the threat of onslaught ruining the future and you could have something crazy.

The reboot the FOX X-Men franchise needed was in the creative team. We needed completely new and fresh names behind the camera. People with genuine passion for the X-Men, the team, not only 3 characters.

But we got Kinberg, from all people. The result is this... thing.

I'd actually like to see her with braids for once.

There's room for both. One of the things I love about the MCU is the fact that all of the heroes' looks evolve from film to film. We're gonna get a variety of Storm looks in the MCU.

Sometimes I wonder if the franchise would have been better off if Singer/Kinberg said goodbye to X-Men and Vaughn was allowed to make a true sequel to First Class.
Matthew Vaughn Wanted to Make a Different 'X-Men' Movie Before 'Days of Future Past'

This is very depressing to read. It's clear Vaughn felt like Singer was entitled to return to the franchise as did Fox.

One thing I know for certain, Kitty should have kept her role in DOFP instead of being swapped out for Wolverine. Ellen Page could have totally carried DOFP and it would have been refreshingly different to have her be the lead of an X-Men movie

that good future is a bookend, not a door
I waited forever for a bonafide multiverse in this ever growing landscape of comic book adapted universes...heck, I figured DC would jump on that first
