Same Company. First Issue Oct. 1939.

It seems that Marvel Comics was an imprint of Timely before becoming the main company name. And before that, as shown above, it wasn't even an imprint but just one of their titles, like Journey into Mystery or Amazing Fantasy was later on, or Tales to Astonish earlier.

So what other imprints (rather than titles) do Marvel have now? Is Marvel Knights considered an imprint?

Often imprints have a completely different name in order to let the parent company publish something else that might be different to what they normally publish. Do Marvel even have anything like that now? I don't see them, for example, publishing a romance comic like Patsy Walker, or some of the Western or Horror comics that Atlas did.

In other news... it seems as though more info has dropped on more potential Disney streaming services. If true then I'm a bit disappointed the Hawkeye series won't be a Thunderbolts series, it will be about him training Kate Bishop apparently. Missed opportunity imo.

Maybe we can get Thunderbolts as well if these early series are received very well.

You're right. It's not something they are barred from doing later.

Two things I would like to see from a Hawkeye series though would be:

- a flashback to when he wore a costume more akin to his 616 costume (you know the one)

- for him to carry on as Ronin as he looks in Endgame

Alexandra Shipp is MAD. I am cracking up.

But again this is why we don’t like her, it’s one thing to defend yourself but another to put down black people or be black when it’s convenient for you.

Be gone, the MCU doesn’t need you Shippwreck.

So is Shipp actually hitting out at fans like Josh Trank was? If so, that seems rather unprofessional. Either she shouldn't say anything at all, or say things in a very dignified way that barely involves much interaction.

Loose lips sink Shipps!

Ah, OK. I didn't realise the issue wasn't just their skin colour, but also their racial purity. My mistake. I'll let you guys get back to your Klan meeting.
Too funny. You consider me pointing out that biracial and black are not the same as “racist”, but not the fact that Hollywood constantly casts half white actresses to play Black women (they do not do this to Black men).

In fan casting threads for Black female characters most people admitted to not even knowing any Black actresses. That is a serious problem.

When Anna Diop was cast as Starfire, I remember seeing several comments asking why they couldn’t cast a mixed lighter skinned actress because they are “prettier”. Hollywood promotes this ‘acceptable black’ aesthetic.

Casting biracial actresses for characters that are not mixed is blatant colorism and racism. It is not racist to want a monoracial dark skinned actress to play a monoracial dark skinned role.

I just don't abide the victimizing of light skinned black people (mixed race or otherwise) as though Africans can't be light skinned. It's one thing to prefer a darker skinned actress, it's another to categorise them as 'not black enough to be African'.
Light skinned Africans and biracial people are not the same.

So spoiler alert: Nick Fury, Spidey survived the snap.

Good trailer but I just don’t like the fact that so many people know Peter is Spidey. Then again anonymity isn’t really a thing in the MCU.

Nick Fury was snapped and so was Parker, so this reveals they are unsnapped, LOL!

I'm not going to put spoiler tags on this since it's wild speculation and probably not true...

... but what if this takes place in an alternate universe in which all the people who were snapped in the Universe we know were the ones who survived in this Universe?

What if Marvel decided to split and divide their characters into two different alternate Universes?

If they go back in time & un do the snap this will likely be an alternate universe by default

It’s sort of mirrors the Ultimate comics in that regard where so many people already knew Peter was Spidey that you kind of wondered why it didn’t leak out to the public already.

My dad is black and my mom is Asian-American... But I was raised black because that's who I am: that's how my experience was defined. Shipp is/wants to identify as a black woman, that's what she Is. It is honestly sad to see her racial identity attacked by colorist fans.

Technically, no black person (in Western countries at least) is "pure black". We're all mixed with different things but to varying degrees. So there are holes in your "she's not a real black" fallacy.

Storm has been depicted many different ways, with many different skin tones:

We are all being a bit intellectual dishonest here and not addressing the elephant in the room. Let's stop pretending that's she's ALWAYS portrayed the way you keep saying she was. Yes, Storm is dark-skinned in many different artistic interpretations of the character, but there also many where she's not. X-Men: The Animated Series (a show we've all grown up with, I'm sure)

If you wanna get technical about it, Storm should have blue "cat" eyes as well - as that was an actual genetic trait passed down from her family tree. None of the live action Storms have this attribute.

I can easily see a regular joe viewer who doesn’t follow this stuff in depth like we do being confused: “Huh? Ain’t he supposed to be dust?” is the first thought that will likely come to mind when they watch the trailer that has Peter and Nick alive and well.

But to the trailer’s credit it does intentionally leave out any hints as to when in the MCU timeline this movie takes place in so it can easily be assumed by the average mainstream viewer(albeit wrongly though) that it takes place in-between Homecoming and Infinity War.

I'd rather see Thunderbolts as a feature film. So much potential there.

It just dawned on me that this is the very first time MCU Peter Parker has met MCU Nick Fury and it looks like Fury might become Peter’s mentor to guide him through a post-Endgame MCU. This trailer felt like it was ripped straight out of the Ultimate comics for me because of that.

Ah, good point. I didn’t even think of that. That could be the case.

I respect that bro, because at the end of the day, I want all my shades of black people to win, but let's be real about Ororo Munroe: she came from two black parents depicted in the comics, and she very well should be played by a blacktress that comes from that same kind of lineage. That's all I'm saying. Shipp just works on my nerves because she says a lot of sly things about black people when she could take a much more higher road in defending herself. She just rubs me the wrong way.
